My wife wanted to see the night view from Tokyo Tower, so we searched for a restaurant with a view. Unfortunately, the Szechuan noodle shop we planned to visit was closed, but we found a Szechuan noodle shop in the food court at the main deck of Tokyo Tower. We ordered both soup and non-soup Szechuan noodles, as well as sesame Szechuan noodles, and added Szechuan pepper and vinegar for extra flavor. The staff, especially the female employee, provided great service, and the restaurant offered good value for money.

After finishing my delivery at the exhibition hall in Tokyo Tower, I decided to check out the food court inside. I found a restaurant that I had tried before. Last time, they had a special offer on their pork noodles, but this time it was just a free small fried rice. The restaurant's specialty seemed to be their soupless dan dan noodles, but I prefer noodles with soup. So, I ordered the dan dan noodles with soup (980 yen). It was a Monday around 11:30 am, and the counter seats were about 80% occupied. I was directed to an available seat and handed over my food ticket. The staff asked me about the spiciness level, and I requested it to be normal. I also asked for the free fried rice. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. I started with the soup, and it was delicious. It could have been a bit richer in flavor, but the balance between the creamy sesame and spicy oil was good. Then I slurped the noodles, which were of a common type but I liked them. The minced meat and soup mixed well, creating a tasty combination. The small fried rice was just a bonus, but it made a difference in the overall meal. It was kept warm in a jar, but that was not an issue. Overall, the meal was good, but I wished the soup was a bit richer (personal preference). I also wanted more minced meat in it. The best part was when I finished the soup and found chunks of meat at the bottom, but there were very few this time. Also, I realized that stirring the soup from the bottom made it taste richer. You can adjust the spiciness with condiments, but you can't adjust the richness of the soup, so that's something to consider. It was a decent meal overall. Thank you for the meal!

Anyway, I thought it would be super spicy and greasy, but it wasn't at all! There is enough oil, but you can eat it without any problem. You can also adjust the spiciness. There is a kind of chili pepper on the table, so you can adjust it by adding that. It's a ticket system where you buy a ticket and place your order, but I was surprised at how delicious it was... Personally, I recommend the tantan noodles with soup rather than soupless ones!

I stopped by due to a casual visit and this was the most expensive shop inside Tokyo Tower, so I decided to try it out. I ordered the soupless Tan Tan Men with simmered pork in sesame sauce. It was my first time trying soupless Tan Tan Men, and I found the blend of sesame and Sichuan pepper flavors to be delicious. Both flavors were not too overpowering, making it easy to eat. I ordered the spiciness level at a normal 2, and it was just right - not too spicy or too mild. The simmered pork had a sweet and savory seasoning, and it was tender and tasty on its own, but it didn't quite match well with the soupless Tan Tan Men. I regret not ordering the regular version. Overall, I think it's a decent place to visit if it's nearby, but I don't feel the need to revisit. I would rate it at a borderline 3.4 points.

First Visit 202304 (No.4445)
1. Purpose of Visit
- I chose this restaurant to revisit the "pork ribs" that I had enjoyed recently after a long time.
2. Restaurant Information
- Genre on Tabelog: Ramen
- Opened in 2018
- A branch operated by "Kanscorp," which is popular for its tantanmen in Kamiyacho
- The main store in Kamiyacho (opened on March 23, 2015) is a popular restaurant with a Tabelog rating of 3.58 and 398 reviews, currently expanding to 5 stores
- Operating hours: 11:00-20:00
- Closed: No regular holidays
- Seating capacity: 37 seats
- Style of purchasing meal tickets from a ticket machine
3. Crowdedness and Atmosphere on the Day of Visit
- Visited around 11:10 on a weekend with 2 customers already seated and 4-5 customers arriving later
- Mainly counter seats, with a slightly dim interior
4. Customer Service
- Service was according to the manual
5. Order Items
- Dried Chicken Rib Tantanmen: 1,180 yen
- Served with a small portion of complimentary white rice, the dish was served after a wait of about 10 minutes
- The "Dried Chicken Rib Tantanmen" consisted of thick noodles freshly boiled, topped with meat miso, roasted sesame, watercress, shredded red pepper, and the main topping of thick "rib" with a curry flavor
- Unlike the pork meat used in the Kamiyacho branch (Chinese restaurant), this branch uses chicken meat
- I requested the highest level of spiciness, "level 5 spiciness," and was able to finish the meal without needing to use the abundant condiments for flavor adjustment, unlike at the branch
- Thank you for the delicious meal.

[Spicy and satisfying indulgence] The restaurant has a long oval-shaped counter with about 20 seats. I had a seat with a partition, so even though it was a two-person seat, I could use it by myself. I was torn between the soupless tantanmen and the pork bone ramen, but I ended up choosing the pork bone ramen for 980 yen. It came in a tall bowl (while tantanmen usually comes in a flat dish) with a generous portion of meat that provided a satisfying chew. I added chili oil, vinegar, and Sichuan pepper occasionally to adjust the spiciness and flavor, which gradually built up. The dish was named "Gold Scorpion," which was quite unique. The Tokyo Tower location was also bustling with people. It was a delicious meal.

On March 3, 2023 (Friday), I climbed Tokyo Tower again. I have been doing the same thing every year on March 3rd. I performed "shakyo" (copying Buddhist scriptures) at a place in Gotanda to purify myself, then walked from Daimon Station through Zozoji Temple grounds to Tokyo Tower. Last year, the building in Toranomon, the 330m tall Japan's tallest building, was still under construction. Now, it looks like it's almost done! It is scheduled to open in November 2023. I paid 1200 yen to go up to the main deck of Tokyo Tower, where I could see the view. Despite the ongoing pandemic, there were more foreign tourists compared to last year. I usually have lunch inside Tokyo Tower, but this time there was no special menu to celebrate reaching the top. So, I decided to visit the "Kinkatsu Tokyo Tower" restaurant. I ordered the "Soupless Tantanmen" from the ticket machine. It was delicious with the right amount of Sichuan pepper, and the free half rice was perfect to enjoy the remaining sauce. After that, I bought some souvenirs inside Tokyo Tower and had a caricature drawn as a souvenir for myself before leaving the tower.

[Revisit] Originally, I was aiming for another ramen shop in the same Tokyo Tower, but it was full and the prospect of getting a seat was uncertain, so I revisited this shop that I had tried before and found very delicious. I ordered the soupless tantanmen with normal size because my stomach has been feeling a bit... lately. But the free half-fried rice was delicious, so I ordered it out of reflex. The soupless tantanmen was still delicious. The thick straight noodles with a strong flavor, combined with a complex soup. In the second half, I added vinegar, sansho pepper, and chili oil from the table. However, it's a pity that some tables don't have condiments. I stood up and went to a nearby table to get them. The staff were energetic, polite, and made me feel good after eating. There are many tourists at Tokyo Tower, with tourist buses stopping and people taking group photos at the base, indicating its popularity. Lunch break is over, so I hurried back to the office. Thank you for the meal.

When delivering to the exhibition hall at the Tokyo Tower parking lot, I decided to have a meal at the Tokyo Tower since I was already there. I wonder when was the last time I visited the Tokyo Tower? I wonder what kind of food options they have here? Oh, it looks like they have a food court. Food courts always get me excited. I looked around and hmm... oh, there's a restaurant over here too. Oh, they have a special offer for their pork rib soy sauce noodles, now only 780 yen instead of 980 yen! And right now, they're offering a free small fried rice! Wow, 780 yen for noodles and fried rice sounds like a great deal! This place seems to specialize in soup-less dan dan noodles, but I just love a good deal! I ordered the pork rib soy sauce noodles without hesitation. And of course, the small fried rice too. Here it comes. First, the small fried rice. I didn't see it being cooked, but it looks like it was scooped out from an electric jar? It's piping hot and moist, a soft fried rice. But it tastes delicious (laughs). As a foodie, I don't care about that. As long as it's delicious, it's all good! Now, let's see how the pork rib soy sauce noodles taste. First, the slurp... delicious! It tastes just like the instant noodles my mom used to make, very close to the ones you buy at the supermarket. A familiar and classic soy sauce ramen. And the pork rib... this is a new type of pork rib for me. It's not as crispy as I expected. It's thick like ham, but it tastes good in its own way! It reminded me of the commercial with Sylvester Stallone saying "Itoham is delicious." All this for 780 yen. Great deal! I appreciate the value here. After all, this is the Tokyo Tower! It's not priced like a tourist spot, which is great. They don't try to rip off foreign visitors, I like that. I might try their famous tantan noodles next time. But I'll probably end up ordering the one with soup, because I just love soup! Thank you for the meal.

【Shiba Area Attack 58th Restaurant】I visited at 12:16 on a weekday. The restaurant was almost full with mainly tourists, but luckily there were still some empty seats. I ordered using the ticket machine. The soupless tantanmen comes with a free large serving. Additionally, lunch comes with a free half fried rice. The service was great. The noodles were medium thickness with a slight wave, chewy and very delicious. They tasted even better as I mixed them with the soup. The half fried rice had plenty of ingredients, cooked just right, and was very tasty. There were vinegar, sansho pepper, and chili oil on the table for flavor variations. I added vinegar to the last three bites, and it was delicious. Truly a great meal. Thank you for the feast.

There are more seats available than in Kamiya-cho, with free extra noodles, free small rice, and the spare ribs are too voluminous. They could do without the spare ribs. Even at level 3 spiciness, it's not too spicy. It's finished with table condiments like Sichuan pepper and chili oil. They also provide paper aprons. Next time, I will try the soup with cilantro.

Today's Poteranchi → [First] This is a classic soupless tantanmen that can be called the essence of the dish. The balance between numbness and spiciness is just right and easy to eat. The balance with the spare ribs is also perfect. I chose the recommended level of spiciness, which is level 2, and even though I'm not good with spicy food, I found it delicious. I got carried away and added too much chili oil halfway through, making it too spicy, so I balanced it out with vinegar. The spare ribs are not as salty as expected, but when eaten with the tantanmen, it's just right. It feels like it's been calculated. The extra-large size is free, so I went for that. Rice is also free, but I resisted this time. The restaurant is located inside Tokyo Tower, and actually, the day before, I gave up after waiting in line at the main store nearby. However, based on the reviews on Tabelog, the taste seems to be the same, and since the spare ribs tantanmen is a unique menu item at this store, I felt satisfied enough to not compare it with the main store. If I have time in the future, I would like to compare the two. The limited natto ramen at this store also caught my interest. I went to this shop located in Tokyo Tower Foot Town. I ordered the soupless tantanmen noodles with a spice level of 2. They also offered a complimentary small rice, so I asked for that as well. I added cilantro as a topping. The soupless tantanmen noodles were delicious with the chewy noodles coated in the sauce. The spice level of 2 was just right for me since I added cilantro. Following the instructions posted at the counter, I enjoyed my meal. After finishing the noodles, I added the small rice to the remaining sauce and enjoyed it as tantan rice.

With added soft-boiled egg, the soup-based tantanmen costs 1000 yen with the recommended level of spiciness of 2 out of 5. The flavors of spiciness, numbing sensation, acidity, and umami were already at a satisfying level for me, so I didn't add anything to it while eating. The balance between the sesame aroma and spiciness was perfect, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The noodles were to my liking, and the balance with the soup was good. I would definitely come back. Make sure to mix the soup well as the spices at the bottom may not mix properly. The shop in Kayabacho has a higher rating, but this one is also very good. I might try the cold tantanmen or soupless tantanmen next time.

I had lunch at the ramen restaurant on the 2nd floor of Tokyo Tower, Kinryu Tokyo Tower branch. There is a food court on the 2nd floor as well, but this restaurant is an independent establishment. I knew from checking on Tabelog beforehand that they had tantanmen. I chose the tantanmen without pork bone soup, level 1 spiciness, for 1080 yen. Small fried rice and extra noodles are free. The dish arrived in less than 10 minutes. I'm not good with spicy food, so I ordered level 1 spiciness. There are levels up to 5. I might have been too conservative, as my initial impression was that the flavor was weak. However, as I mixed the sauce well, the lack of flavor was resolved. But I think it lacks depth. The noodles are flat and not bad, but they lack impact. The fried chicken on top is delicious. I have ordered a similar menu at a Taiwanese restaurant before, and this place is just as good. The fried rice is not very delicious, more like a bonus. Overall, my impression is that the dining options within the facility are mediocre.

Hello, this is Mormor! Today, while on a work trip to Shimbashi, I stopped by the "Kinkatsu Tokyo Tower" restaurant. The restaurant is located under the Tokyo Tower. It had been a while since I last visited the Tokyo Tower, probably around 5-6 years ago when I was working in the building next door. First, I purchased my meal ticket at the ticket machine next to the entrance. I ordered the "Soup Tantanmen" for ¥900 and added "Cilantro" for ¥200. I chose the level 3 spiciness out of the options ranging from 1 to 5. After waiting for about 7-8 minutes, my "Soup Tantanmen" and "Cilantro" arrived. The mini fried rice was a weekday special service. The "Soup Tantanmen" with "Cilantro" at "Kinkatsu" was a delicious and well-balanced bowl. The soup, sesame sauce, chili oil, and meat miso were perfectly blended, and the level 3 spiciness added a nice touch to the overall flavor. The combination of cilantro and spicy seasoning provided a refreshing and ethnic taste that complemented the dish very well. Cilantro and Tantanmen are definitely a great match. The weekday lunch service fried rice and pickled vegetables were also very tasty and served in just the right portion as side dishes. Besides Tantanmen, they also offer dishes like "Ground Meat Wonton Noodles" and "Shrimp Wonton Noodles," which I would love to try if I have the chance. This is the Tokyo Tower branch of the Ryugu Group. Unlike the shop near Kamiyacho Station, which is always crowded with a limited number of seats, this place is spacious and not so crowded. I ordered the soupless tantanmen noodles (extra-large, free) with a spice level of 3. It had a consistent delicious taste. I adjusted the spiciness with Sichuan pepper and chili oil powder as I ate. I regretted not ordering the regular size with white rice instead of the extra-large, as I declined the mini fried rice. It has an addictive taste that makes you want to eat it again and again. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a restaurant on the restaurant floor of Tokyo Tower. This restaurant is also located near Kamiyacho Station, and I have been there a few times before. It was crowded during lunchtime. I ordered the soupless tantanmen. It's a hearty ramen topped with minced pork. It cost 1080 yen, and I could get a free large serving and free fried rice. The noodles were thick and satisfying, and the rich broth was delicious. I chose to have it with medium spiciness and added plenty of Sichuan pepper from the table to make it more flavorful. It was delicious. The spare ribs were also amazing. I would like to go back again if I have the chance. It was delicious.

Golden Scorpion Pork Rib Noodles (Large) ¥980 → ¥780 (discounted)
The meat was mediocre. Not my preference. The soup seemed to have ginger in it. It's a pork rib noodles at a soupless tantanmen restaurant, so it's understandable. But it was delicious!
