There is no entrance on the front side, so you need to go around to the back, but it's still close. When you enter the shop, counter tables surrounding the kitchen welcome you. The layout includes table seats around it, suitable for various purposes from solo dining to large group parties. The mainly tiled counter and the menu posted on the top of the counter create a popular izakaya atmosphere. Even though it hasn't been open for two years, the interior is very clean and has a wide range of age groups, from people in their 20s to 50s, using it. The menu is quite extensive, with each dish making you want to drink. Each dish is satisfying and delicious, making you want to order more. The special order glasses for drinks make you curious about the different types available, making you want to order more drinks. After work, I saw an empty seat at the counter and decided to stop by. You can choose between Akaboshi and Ebisu bottled beers, and I chose Akaboshi without hesitation. I ordered a small size of simmered tripe and pickled cucumbers as a side dish while waiting for the skewers to be grilled. The simmered tripe had a lot of tender pieces of tripe and green onions, and it was delicious. The pickled cucumbers were made with real pickled plums instead of paste, showing attention to detail. The skewers included salt-grilled liver and heart, and teriyaki grilled white meat. The liver was cooked through nicely, the heart was slightly rare which was good, and the white meat was a bit crispy. The taste may vary depending on who is in charge of grilling, but today was a good day. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I visited this place because I heard that their motsu stew is really delicious. When I mentioned my reservation name, I was seated at a table. First, we toasted with a glass of draft beer. For appetizers, we had: - Potato salad with spicy oil, which was a perfect match - Motsu stew that was so tender and tasty - Assorted raw meat skewers, especially the tongue skewer was incredibly delicious - Heart skewer, which was okay - A set of hoppy drinks with white beer - A mix of motsu offal, which was a unique and great snack - Beef cheek meat, with dangerously delicious fatty parts - Liver sashimi without bitterness, just delicious - Stingray fin, a classic appetizer that goes well with drinks Overall, this is a tenant within an APA Hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was, as I initially thought it wouldn't be that great. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice. Although the bill was a bit high due to our heavy drinking, I would like to revisit this place. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant was quite busy. Maybe because it's located below an APA Hotel, there were a lot of solo diners. The braised pork belly was sold out, so I was recommended the Chashu Egg instead. It was incredibly delicious. The runny yolk of the fried egg mixed with the thick yet tender chashu pork. There was a generous amount of it, almost too much. I will definitely have this again next time.

On this day, I traveled to Tokyo for a meeting with colleagues to coincide with a trade show where our booth was set up. Although we could have easily conducted the meeting via web conference due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 BA5 infections, I decided to make the trip to Tokyo. Since business trips are likely to decrease in the future, I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity. I arrived in the evening, attended the web conference at the Tokyo branch the next morning, made a brief appearance at Big Sight, and then returned home. Most of the staff were instructed to attend the web conference, but those who traveled to Tokyo and the Tokyo branch staff were planning to have a social gathering, right? So, we split into groups of 4 or 5 people and went to three different restaurants for the gathering. It was quite a hassle. Therefore, our group of older individuals decided to go to this restaurant located right in front of the hotel. It turned out to be a motsu-yaki restaurant on the first floor of APA Hotel, which I had never heard of before. We ordered a set of 10 motsu-yaki skewers, motsu-ni (simmered motsu), and niku-dofu (tofu and meat stew) to keep things simple. The motsu-yaki was reasonably priced at 140 yen per skewer and quite delicious. The motsu-ni was made with white miso and the motsu was tender, pairing well with alcohol. The pickled cucumber was crunchy and refreshing. We kept ordering Hoppy shiro (a low-malt beer-like beverage) and Nakadaka (a type of shochu) as the night went on, and even had some Kimiya umeshu (plum wine) towards the end. I tried to order an extra serving of the waitress's "oppai" (breasts), but unfortunately, they were sold out. Although the motsu-yaki was cheap and tastier than expected, I still prefer the one from Nishi-Shin's "Oshimaya"! Thank you for the meal!

Seeking the rumored simmered dish, I went to the bar Hakozaki. The food was so delicious that I wanted to order another plate. I was intrigued by how they make it. The meat and tofu simmered in red miso sauce had a sweet and savory taste, which was delightful! The assorted sashimi was all incredibly delicious, and the soft cartilage of the tongue was just amazing. What a feast! Thank you for the delicious meal.

Second stop for the weekend drinking with my wife. Located on the first floor of an APA hotel, the restroom is clean as it is shared with the hotel. There is a designated smoking area outside the restaurant. Personally, the most delicious dish is the mapo tofu. The tofu is soaked in a rich broth, very tasty. The yakitori is also delicious. The staff is a bit funky. The restaurant has a kitchen in a U-shape layout, so you can always see the kitchen staff working. It's understandable that they wear masks due to the heat, but I wish they would wear them properly. However, I think the service is polite! Thank you for the meal.

There seems to be a new restaurant? I remember it used to be a bistro. "Bistro COCONE." My memory was completely off. The door is open, and you can see inside the restaurant. I peeked inside and saw a menu for motsu-yaki. I love motsu-yaki. I guess I can't try it for dinner. Is it a "Motsu-ni specialty restaurant"? And they even have "Simmered Set Meal." Motsu-ni specialty restaurant (rumored). Motsu-ni Set Meal 800 yen. Motsu-ni Bento 800 yen. Anyway, for lunch, it's all about motsu-ni. Maybe to gauge the quality of motsu-yaki. It might be a good place to check out the side dishes. When it gets hot, it might become a place to drink socially. The interior doesn't look like a motsu-yaki izakaya, but rather a clean drinking establishment. The "Motsu-ni Set Meal" looks delicious but small. I see, it's a size for having a drink. It's not enough for lunch. The side dishes are just this and a little bit of pickles and namul. Hmm, the side dishes seem lacking. The simmered motsu has a good flavor and aroma. It's kind of soft... I wanted to chew on it. People who say "It's so soft" after eating meat, seem like they don't want to chew. I want to chew. Maybe because I'm trying to control my food intake, if I don't chew, I don't feel like I've eaten. Pouring the simmered dish over the rice and eating it. I feel like I've eaten. The taste is decent, but the only complaint is that it's too soft. I wanted to know the texture of motsu-yaki, but I couldn't figure it out. I hope it's not too soft like jelly. I have an urge to chew and chew. Frustrated desire. Or maybe I'm just not a drinker. In any case, the main simmered dish is not a very large bowl. It's just a bowl of simmered dish. It feels a bit lonely. Looking at the menu, there is a red mark indicating the "Specialty" dishes. Rumored simmered motsu 480 yen. Rumored flavored meat and tofu 480 yen. So the main part of the simmered set meal is 480 yen. The rest is 320 yen. I feel like motsu-yaki is usually around 140 yen. Motsu-yaki with a drink seems possible.

I had breakfast at the Hakozaki Bar. It was a buffet breakfast at the hotel that I reserved for 1200 yen. There were common dishes lined up at the hotel buffet, but I was hungry in the morning and everything looked delicious. The fried chicken was soft and tasty. There was tartar sauce available, so when I put it on, I was very satisfied. There was a raw egg available, and eating egg over rice for the first time in a while made me happy.

The place was beautiful, and the menu had a decent variety. The simmered motsu (offal) was delicious. It was a new experience for me, as I had never seen such large motsu before. I wonder if it was pork? I had only ever had beef motsu simmered before, so I was impressed by the size. The Nira-tama was boiled chives with raw egg. It was definitely Nira-tama! The fried chicken was basically Karaage-kun. There was a TV, but if you sit at the counter, you can't watch it while eating. The kitchen service area across the counter looked like a box, and the staff working there were quite flashy, like a DJ booth. It was a futuristic Japanese-style bar. Since our group was a bit large, we were able to use the raised tatami seating area. The restroom was outside the restaurant, and we were directed to use the clean restroom at the APA Hotel. A clean restroom always puts you in a good mood.

Discovered a great restaurant in the minor area of Ueno. It's located across from the main area on 4th Street. This restaurant specializes in motsu (offal). Both the motsu yaki (grilled offal) and motsu nabe (offal hot pot) were delicious without any unpleasant odor. The staff were also very friendly, making it a place I would like to visit again. I will be returning again on Saturdays and Sundays.

Today's lunch was at a restaurant in Ueno! I had a delicious stew lunch at Hakozaki, a izakaya on the first floor of the new APA Hotel next to our business partner's office. The stew was so flavorful with tender tripe and a miso-based broth. Topped with plenty of green onions and Yawataya's shichimi spice, it was really tasty. Today I went to HakoZaki, a bar located behind the newly opened Apa Hotel in Ueno. The interior of the bar has a counter, tables, and a raised seating area. I started with a beer and a Galisour cocktail, cheers! The food I ordered included: - Nikudofu (spicy tofu with meat) - Assorted sashimi platter - Grilled soft bone skewers - Grilled beef stomach skewers - Stir-fried garlic chives - Grilled soft bone sashimi - Grilled beef tongue sashimi - Crispy namul (Korean seasoned vegetable dish) - Crispy meat and green pepper - Salted fish guts I also had a second order of the Nikudofu. The sashimi platter included liver, soft bone, and beef tongue, all of which were delicious. The soft bone sashimi was served with vinegar miso, and the beef tongue sashimi was also very tasty. I enjoyed the variety of food and drinks, and even came back for a second visit two days later. Thank you for the delicious meal, I will definitely visit again.

Opened on October 1, 2021. Located on the 1st floor of APA Hotel Ueno Station. It seems to be the first izakaya on the 1st floor of an APA hotel! The interior is very beautiful, and the simmered motsu (offal) is incredibly delicious! They simmer the motsu until it's tender, then lift it up and mix it with a salt sauce containing fruits. The motsu is soft and the salted motsu stew is so delicious that you'll want to eat as much as you can. I ended up going back for lunch the next day! The lunch menu consists of only one item, the motsu stew set, which shows how confident they are in their motsu stew. Around 10 p.m. the day after having the motsu stew for lunch, I found myself craving it again! Salted motsu stew is not something you come across often. It's a delicious flavor that becomes addictive. The signature dishes such as meat tofu, motsu yaki with that day's ingredients, deep-fried eggplant with ponzu sauce, grated daikon radish, and eggplant are all exquisitely delicious. The macaroni salad is also delicious, and I recommend trying a variety of dishes. It's perfect for banquets! The 4-person table with high-backed sofas looks very comfortable. The 10-person tatami area on the second floor looks spacious. The frozen sours seem like they would be Instagram-worthy. There are various banquet courses available, such as a 2.5-hour all-you-can-drink course with 7 dishes for 4,500 yen. Make sure to try the highly recommended motsu stew!

Motsu (tripe) stew set meal for 800 yen. I visited this izakaya for lunch on October 1st, located on the 1st floor of Apa Hotel Ueno Station. I happened to come across it last week and was really curious, so I decided to try it today. I entered at 11:41 am, and there were no other customers, so it felt like a private dining experience. As it is a motsu stew specialty shop, they only offer motsu stew set meals on the menu. I paid in advance, using PayPay. Despite there being three people in the kitchen, there was no service to guide me to my seat, so I had to stand and wait until the food was ready. The food was lukewarm when served, including the rice, miso soup, and motsu stew. The motsu was simmered to a soft and delicious texture, but the seasoning was a bit weak. The miso soup also lacked flavor. Even as a small eater, I felt a bit unsatisfied with the portion size. Considering the quantity, the motsu stew set meal for 800 yen seemed quite expensive.
