Located about a 3-minute walk from Azabu-Juban Station Exit 4, this shop is known for its delicious snacks. The shop has branches in various department stores such as Seibu Ikebukuro, Daimaru Tokyo, and Odakyu Shinjuku. The packaging of the snacks is incredibly cute and colorful, making it almost too cute to eat. I purchased a large size for a celebration, which cost around 5700 yen. The package included a variety of snacks in different flavors and shapes, along with lucky charm cookies made with rice flour shaped like elephants. The flavors included Azabu salt, colorful fruits, and cookies (strawberry, lemon, melon). The pink elephant design on the package was so adorable that I ended up buying it as a gift for a friend I was meeting later. Overall, it's a great option for a cute and tasty gift!

Have you ever noticed a vibrant blue store along Azabu-Juban Dori? It actually underwent a complete renovation in June this year. The exterior used to exude a calm Japanese atmosphere, but now it has transformed into a fresh and cute look with a touch of Western style. Stepping inside, you'll find the colorful round cans of the "Agemochi Cocoro" series lined up next to the traditional long bags of fried rice crackers. Each can is beautifully designed and you'll be tempted to collect them all! I purchased the cute pink elephant "Fruit Mix" can on this day. The rice crackers inside are flavored with the popular "Azabu-age" dashi salt, and it also includes a variety of dried fruits like strawberries and rice flour cookies, offering a satisfying treat. Next on my list is the blue can with a cute polar bear illustration, the "Ko Maru Age Mix." During my visit on a weekday afternoon, the store was bustling with customers, indicating its popularity even on weekdays. Many customers were buying the colorful cube boxes displayed in the showcase as souvenirs. The "Hanabuki Yose" with various types of rice crackers individually packed in small bags is also recommended, and I purchased it as well. It's a convenient snack size to carry around in your bag! For those who want to enjoy rice crackers at home, the classic long bag series is highly recommended. The lightly flavored salt lemon is the number one favorite. I tried it immediately and the crispy texture with a refreshing lemon flavor was so light and delicious that I couldn't stop eating! The long bag series offers a wide variety of flavors, from basic to unique ones like tomato basil and pancetta fried, making it fun to check out different flavors at the store. The rice crackers at Agemochi-ya are made with a light texture to appeal to a wide range of customers, from the elderly to children. Visit Agemochi-ya in the evolving corner of Azabu-Juban, where tradition meets innovation, and experience the changing flavors alongside Azabu-Juban.

First Visit 202206 (No.3661) It was a long time since I visited Azabu-Juban for some new ideas, and our home's stock of "okaki" is running low, so I decided to stop by here (laughs). This is a shop specializing in various kinds of fried okaki, with a total of 8 stores including this one. The main store is in Azabu-Juban, but it's a small shop where even 3 customers can make it feel crowded, and the staff is also operated by one person. I purchased the following item that caught my eye at the storefront:
Azabu-age dashi shoyu - 432 yen
This is said to be the representative product of this shop, with a crispy fried dough seasoned with flavorful dashi soy sauce. The packaging is colorful, so it can be a good item for small gifts or to give to others. Thank you for the meal.

I was looking for spring-like sweets and I purchased a set of 12 boxes of cube-shaped rice crackers. They were very delicious. I especially liked the plum blossom mix. It consists of two types of plum-shaped rice crackers, which are not only cute in appearance but also tasty.

Agetochiya, Azabu-Juban main store offers fried rice crackers and colorful rice flour motif cookies. They are delicious and cute, featuring daruma dolls and girls. The rice flour cookies are shaped like daruma dolls (owls) for boys and girls (Matryoshka dolls), as discovered. The store offers a variety of fried rice crackers from the traditional and trendy neighborhood of Azabu-Juban. They provide cute and delicious fried rice crackers in various flavors. The gift tin "irodori Cocoro" includes a variety of flavors and shapes of rice crackers, as well as lucky charm rice flour cookies. The fried rice crackers come in flavors like dashi soy sauce, black sugar, sweet and savory soy sauce, plum, seaweed, shrimp, soy sauce rice, pumpkin, tulip, and matcha. Today, I visited the Azabu-Juban and Kamiyacho area. This shop is also located in Azabu-Juban. It is a shop specializing in rice crackers and fried mochi called "Agemochiya." Just like the neighboring "Azabu-Juban Karinto," the atmosphere is very stylish. The exterior, mainly in yellow, stands out. The wallpaper inside is also completely yellow. Various types of fried mochi are displayed in front of the shop. The packaging of the fried mochi is also very colorful. There are various unique flavors available. Here is what I tried:
- Pancetta Fried Mochi: Made with pork powder, it has a bacon-like flavor. Light and crispy texture. It also has small bacon-like pieces.
- Salt Lemon Fried Mochi: Crispy fried mochi with a tangy lemon flavor. Contains a bit of peanuts. Refreshing lemon aftertaste.
- Camembert Cheese Fried Mochi: Fried mochi coated with camembert cheese. Also contains some peanuts. The cheese flavor is strong and delicious.
- Colorful Vegetable Fried Mochi: A mix of 6 vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, purple sweet potatoes, pumpkins, green beans, and lotus roots. Each vegetable chip has a different texture and a vibrant color. Each pack contains 3 bags and costs around 400-500 yen. The variety of flavors and affordable prices make it easy to try a little of everything. It was a delightful meal!

This is a specialty shop for deep-fried rice crackers in Azabu-Juban. "Azabu-Juban" has a sophisticated urban scent to it, which is quite appealing to those from the countryside. Unlike Harajuku, it has a more mature atmosphere that I find attractive. With my fickle heart, I decided to choose these deep-fried rice crackers as souvenirs from Tokyo this time. If bought individually, they are reasonably priced at around 400 yen per bag, making them suitable for souvenirs. I purchased the "Grilled Corn Rice Crackers" (475 yen) which have an irresistible aroma of grilled corn. I also bought the "Fukiyose" and a small assorted gift set called "Cube Gift". The variety of individual items is quite appealing. They also have unique flavors like "Truffle" and "Green Onion Miso". They even had a Western-style flavor like "Tomato Basil".

There are many delicious commercially available fried mochi options, so it's quite challenging to stand out. They have taken an upscale and trendy approach with their fried mochi. It's tasty, well, of course it is. It's fried mochi after all.

A rice cracker shop located in Azabu-Juban shopping street. They sell rice crackers with cute traditional Japanese packaging that is stylish. It's a great shop for gifts like Ochugen (summer gift) or Oseibo (year-end gift). They offer various flavors of rice crackers such as soy sauce, salt, peppercino, salt lemon, etc. They also have Tokyo exclusive flavors and limited edition flavors for their Azabu-Juban main store and Daimaru Tokyo store. Since Father's Day is approaching, they have special rice crackers for Father's Day too! I bought Father's Day rice crackers and the Tokyo exclusive "Ryogoku Miso Chan-ko Rice Cracker". It comes in 3 small packets inside, making it easy to eat in small portions. The miso chan-ko flavor had a nice miso taste. The rice crackers are priced around 400-500 yen each. They also offer boxed packaging for gifts. Despite the traditional image of rice crackers, this shop with its stylish packaging gives a fresh impression.

I ate a set of 7 bags. Each bag contains 3 smaller bags inside. The set includes Aburaage Mochi with soy sauce, Aburaage Mochi with salt and yuzu, Aburaage Mochi with cherry blossom, Tomato Basil Aburaage Mochi, Camembert Cheese Aburaage Mochi, Chewy Plum-flavored rice crackers. While salty rice crackers with sweet black sugar and plum might sound strange at first, the subtle sourness of the plum and the sweetness of the black sugar infused into the rice crackers made them delicious. The Tomato Basil flavor tasted like a snack version of "Pizza Potato" without the cheese, and it paired well with the green peas included in the set.

At Azabu-Juban, I wanted to buy some souvenirs so I visited the shop I was looking for. First, I went to Agemochiya Azabu-Juban Main Store. It seemed like a new store, but it turns out they had relocated from their previous location. After researching, I found out that they originally opened on March 24, 2012 at Azabu-Juban 2-5-1, then relocated on February 20, 2013 to Azabu-Juban 2-3-8, and finally on September 19, 2015 to their current location at Azabu-Juban 1-7-9 B. Since it was my first visit, I only knew about their current store. I'm not a big fan of sweets (especially Japanese sweets), but I love rice crackers, so I bought some for myself to take home. The packaging is color-coded based on the type of rice cracker, making it easy to distinguish. Each pack contains 2 small bags of rice crackers. It's a perfect size for gifts. I carefully selected various types of rice crackers to give as gifts, and my mother was delighted when I gave her the "Camembert Cheese Rice Cracker" as a souvenir. Even my mother, who is a harsh critic, said it was easy to eat and delicious.

I tried a variety of fried rice crackers from the specialty shop called "Fukiyose Okaki". It was a popular assortment of rice crackers from Agemochiya. My favorite flavor was the classic salt and pepper, followed by the shiso rice cracker. The small round fried rice cracker had a taste similar to black sugar. The salt lemon rice cracker had a nice balance of saltiness and was very delicious. The soy sauce and sugar rice cracker was also delicious with a slightly sweet and salty taste. Since there are various flavors in one can, I thought about using it as a gift.

The other day, I received a thank you gift from a colleague. It was a summer limited edition beef steak rice cracker from Azabu-Juban Agemochi-ya. They seem to know my preference for salty snacks, which I really appreciate. There are various flavors available, including unique ones like peperoncino rice cracker and pickled ginger rice cracker. Inside the bag, there are 3 smaller packs of rice crackers and peanuts. It's a perfect snack to enjoy during work, but be careful not to eat too much because it's delicious! I've been near this shop before, but I've never actually been inside. I'll definitely visit next time. Azabu-Juban Agemochi-ya is located at 1-7-9 Azabu-Juban, Minato-ku, Tokyo. It's a 3-minute walk from Exit 7 of Azabu-Juban Station on the Toei Oedo Line, and a 4-minute walk from Exit 4 of Azabu-Juban Station on the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line.
