I bought some Krispy Kreme doughnuts at the Marui on the first floor in Nakano. I don't usually go there, but decided to try it out. I got 4 original glazed, 1 chocolate sprinkle, and 1 chocolate custard, totaling 6 doughnuts. I usually prefer French crullers from Mister Donut, but since they don't have that here, I went with the original glazed. After trying them again after a long time, I can see why the Signature Doughnuts are so popular. They are really delicious, especially the glazed ones.

Krispy Kreme donuts! I always had the image that they were too sweet to eat, but the Dark Chocolate donut was actually delicious with a nice balance of sweetness! I can definitely eat this one! It's really tasty! Compared to Mister Donut, the texture here is fluffy and the surface is slightly oily. Mister Donut's donuts are more dense and not as oily. While these donuts may not be considered healthy, the Dark Chocolate one was really good. The other flavors were too sweet for me, so I had to scrape off some of the chocolate coating or sugar on the surface. The outside was just too sweet... They also have limited edition flavors like yuzu and pudding, but they were too sweet for me to finish in one bite. However, the Dark Chocolate donut had a nice balance of sweetness with a hint of dark chocolate, and it was really delicious! Also, getting them in a big box really made me excited. I guess foreigners might think this level of sweetness is typical for donuts! Muffins sold in Hawaii are surprisingly sweet, so maybe these donuts are still tailored more towards Japanese tastes. Even though my partner, who loves sweet treats, thought they were delicious and enjoyed them.

If you add toppings like chocolate, the price quickly goes over ¥200. As someone who grew up with Mister Donut and is used to it, I initially thought it was expensive, but lately Mister Donut has been raising prices overall, and other sweets are also similarly priced, so now it seems "normal" to me. What sets Krispy Kreme apart from other shops is that the price becomes more affordable as you buy more donuts. ¥30 off for 3 donuts, ¥100 off for 6 donuts. 12 Original Glazed donuts for ¥1600. 12 donuts of your choice for ¥2000. This time, I splurged and chose 12 donuts of my liking! Including the limited Valentine's edition heart-shaped "Melty Crunch Chocolate (regular price ¥250)" and "Strawberry Glossy Chocolate (regular price ¥250)", as well as "Cookie Cream Rich (takeout ¥220)", and "Old Fashion Uji Matcha (regular price ¥220)" in multiple quantities. Compared to the donuts I'm used to at Mister Donut, all of them have a generous amount of chocolate used! It's nice to have a rich donut once in a while. However, I still think the Original Glazed that came as a bonus for the Nakano store anniversary is the best. It was delicious when I warmed it up in the microwave - crispy and fluffy. The donuts themselves look great and having them in a box adds a special touch. They are also handy as a small gift.

I went to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in Marui in Nakano a little after 11 am on a weekday. This time, I bought an Original Glazed Half Dozen and a Holiday Half Dozen as a gift. Both are half dozens, so they contain 6 donuts each. The Christmas-themed Holiday Dozen was given to the kids and they were very happy. The staff were friendly and I appreciated their cheerful customer service. They also kindly explained how to use the app. I'm very happy that there is a Krispy Kreme in Nakano and I hope it continues to thrive for a long time.

If it is a recent opening, then Krispy Kreme is back in action. I bought the "Cinnamon Sugar" donut for 160 yen before tax. The texture is fluffy and moist, a unique characteristic of Krispy Kreme. The cinnamon flavor is noticeable, and there is a good amount of sugar, but it's not overly sweet.

Caramel Reindeer (230 yen + tax) <Store description> A square caramel chocolate reindeer with a sweet, fluffy scent, filled with slightly bitter caramel cream with added rock salt. It boasts a bright red nose made of strawberry jelly and large antlers made of salted pretzels. <My thoughts> Quite sweet. More like a sweet bread than a donut, just like the Santa. When there was a shop at the south exit of Shinjuku Station, I bought from there a few times, but once they closed down, I lost touch with them. However, I recently discovered a Krispy Kreme Doughnuts shop on the first floor of Marui Main Store at the south exit of Nakano Station. They have a Christmas limited edition version, but I recommend trying their original. Priced at 150 yen (excluding tax), it is quite reasonable and the taste is undeniably soft and sweet.
