I was feeling a bit hungry even though it was past 9 pm, so I decided to enter a restaurant that was still open. Since it was late, I ordered a half-size ramen because I knew it wouldn't be good to eat a full portion at this time. It was just right after drinking a lot of alcohol at home. I also shared some gyoza with my family and we were all very satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal! - Chicken and Vegetable Ramen (Half size) - Gyoza #Shinkainanki #Chinese #Sengawa

"First visit. I read on Tabelog that 'Kainan-ki' has been renewed as 'Shin Kainan-ki', but apart from the door, there is no 'Shin' in the name, so it feels a bit ambiguous. I arrived around 11:30 on Saturday. The interior has only table seats. This time, I had the 'tantanmen' (tax included ¥945). The menu mentioned that noodles and rice bowls come in large portions for free, so I went for the large portion. It took about 10 minutes to be served. It was faster than those who ordered other set meals. The soup had a strong Chinese flavor with ingredients like star anise and Sichuan pepper. It was more authentic than I expected! The spiciness level was medium, but it had a tingling sensation and a nutty and sesame flavor, making it delicious. The noodles were chewy and medium-thick, which I liked. Although I ordered a large portion, it didn't feel like much. If it had been a regular portion, I would have found it unsatisfying, so I recommend ordering a large portion or half rice. The staff seemed to be from China, and I could hear Chinese in the restaurant, creating an exotic atmosphere. While I was eating, customers started lining up outside, so it seems to be quite popular."

In early March, I visited a Sichuan restaurant called "Shin Kainan Ki" located about 3 minutes from Seigawa Station on the Keio Line with a friend on a Saturday afternoon around 2 pm. It was our first visit to the restaurant. Despite being a bit late for lunch, we made it in time. The restaurant was small with only 6 tables. We were seated at a table with 2 empty seats and were free to choose where to sit. The menu featured Sichuan cuisine, but also included Taiwanese and Chinese dishes. We ordered the following lunch sets: - Taiwanese Mini Lu Rou Fan + Half Chicken Soba (with pickles and dessert) for 980 yen (tax included) - Daily Special: Twice-cooked Pork Set (Saturday) for 780 yen (tax included) (with pickles, water dumplings, tofu, and dessert) Soon, my chicken soba was served. The soup was a bit strong for my liking, but the smooth and chewy Chinese noodles paired well with it and tasted delicious. Next, I tried the Lu Rou Fan, which I had been looking forward to. It was filled with plenty of ingredients such as shiitake mushrooms, greens, bean sprouts, boiled eggs, and meat, and was very tasty. The set menus had a satisfying portion size and offered good value for money. This restaurant is a great choice for Sichuan, Chinese, and Taiwanese cuisine at lunchtime. Thank you for the meal!

I knew it had been renovated about a year ago, but I finally got a chance to visit. I arrived right at the opening time for lunch and was the first customer. I remembered that there used to be a lot of Shanghai and Cantonese dishes, but it seems they have now switched to Sichuan cuisine. I was in the mood for something hot on a hot day, so I ordered the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup for 945 yen and the Xiao Long Bao for 280 yen. The beef noodle soup served in a bubbling hot pot was just as the menu emphasized - deliciously spicy and numbing. The beef, cut into blocks, provided a satisfying chew. The noodles didn't leave much of an impression, but the combination of the hot pot, spiciness, and beef was fantastic. The Xiao Long Bao was also authentic, with a flavorful soup inside, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. I felt that the quality had greatly improved since the switch to Sichuan cuisine. With a wide variety of dishes and wallet-friendly prices, I definitely want to revisit this place. Now, what should I try next time?

In Hong Kong, dim sum and Taiwan's street food often have hygiene issues, but there are also many delicious restaurants. If you think of this place as a Chinese restaurant, you may have various complaints, but if you see it as a street stall, you'll experience authentic Chinese cuisine with intense conversations among Chinese owners and staff, leading to high satisfaction. With the same price as a chain restaurant, what's there to complain about with this quality? Although it's Sichuan cuisine, I love the Taiwanese dish here, Lu Rou Fan. The xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) are also cheap at 220 yen for 3. Next time, I want to try the Mapo Tofu and Crab Fried Rice.

A delicious Chinese restaurant located a few minutes' walk from Sengawa Station on the Keio Line. The staff, including the chefs, seem to be from China as lively Chinese conversations can be heard. The flavor is slightly mild. For those who prefer spicy Chinese cuisine, it may be a bit lacking in flavor, but it is enjoyable for those who do not like spicy food or families with children.

I visited a shopping center in Sengawa and came here. It was Sunday and many stores were closed due to the influence of the coronavirus, and it was already 2:00 pm. There was a couple waiting outside, and the menu with photos looked delicious. We were seated in about 7-8 minutes. The staff consisted of one person in the kitchen and one person in the hall, who seemed to be a married couple. They took orders in broken Japanese and communicated with the kitchen in Chinese. My companion ordered the negi ramen set, and I ordered the moyashi soba set. The set came with 2 water dumplings, a small pickled dish, and almond tofu. I'm sorry, but it didn't suit my taste or my companion's taste. It might be a matter of preference, but I felt the food was sloppy. We were full in the end. Thank you for the meal!

I don't really understand what changed from "Hainan-ki" to "Shin Hainan-ki", but if they renovated it, let's go check it out. The small restaurant still has 6 table seats and the interior looks the same as before. - Spicy Sichuan Mapo Tofu Donburi (excluding tax 760 yen): A large bowl with rice and mapo tofu served on the side. The presentation is like curry. The rice seemed a bit dry, maybe it had been sitting for a while. On the other hand, the mapo tofu was freshly made and hot. When eaten together, the heat balance was good, but the rice texture was a bit off. However, the mapo tofu itself was delicious. It had a good level of spiciness and depth of flavor. The Sichuan pepper and chili oil worked well together, making it tasty. The tofu held its shape well, and the minced meat was not too little or too much. Towards the end of the meal, soup was served, but it was too strong in flavor.

I went to a Chinese restaurant that I had been curious about since I saw a line at lunchtime. The interior of the restaurant is small with about 5 table seats. The food was delicious, especially the pan-fried dumplings which were meaty and to my liking. They offer a lunch menu which seems to be good value for money.
