The owner of this place was originally supposed to inherit Kimuraya bakery, but ended up opening this shop due to a connection made during training. Despite being in the same bread industry as their ancestors, they did not continue their legacy and instead started a different bakery, which surprised me when I saw their success on TV. I personally prefer bread with a good bite, and the bread here is just that. The aroma of orange is rich, and the bread is soft and dense, not to mention the croissant with chocolate inside, which is a must-try for chocolate lovers.

[Matsumiya MK's Delicious Treats] It's been a while since my last visit, and I heard that the limited-time items, Brioche Pizza and Salami & Cheese Bread, have been extended due to their popularity. The flavor of the Iwai Yoghurt in the Brioche Pizza is a bit subtle, but it's a refreshing dessert bread for this hot weather. Slicing it and dipping it in olive oil or herb salt, paired with white wine, is a great idea. It makes me want to also get the Edamame Cheese Bacon. There's also a great deal on Maison Kaiser bread sets. I remember meeting MK's representative at a banquet in the past, feeling nostalgic.

This is a shop located in the basement of Ginza Matsuya. I see it in various places. This is my first visit here. This time, I chose the classic Pain au Chocolat and the seasonal limited Croissant Cannelle. The Pain au Chocolat was reliably delicious. The Croissant was also good. I hope it becomes a regular item rather than limited. Thank you for the meal. I will come again.

I passed by the Matsuya store in Ginza for the first time in a while and couldn't resist buying my favorite almond pastry. I actually prefer the one with chocolate, but they only had plain almond croissants on display. It seems like the price has gone up... it was in the mid-400 yen range. The almond powder was moist, fragrant, and elegant, which I love! I enjoyed it at home with a cup of coffee. It could have been a bit more crispy on the outside even if the inside was moist and good. I wish there were a few more almond slices on top. Thank you for the meal!

Picking bread at Matsuya Ginza. When I went to Shinjuku Isetan, I felt like I could choose any bread like at Maison Kayser, but when I looked into the showcase, I thought, "Huh?". It seemed like most of them contained dairy products. I'm okay with chocolate (which contains dairy), but I'm a little hesitant about bread that has dairy in the dough. The bread looked really delicious. I was fixated on the Delis Fraises. Even though it said it contained dairy, I thought it must be because of the chocolate. But just to be sure, I asked and was disappointed... It was filled with cream and butter. Definitely not for me. So I settled for this one.
Fig and walnut sourdough bread - 329 yen.
Delicious! It's the type of bread you chew and savor, with the rich flavor of rye sourdough, the nutty aroma of walnuts, and the gentle sweetness of figs. Maison Kayser's bread is always delicious! I wish I could have tried more varieties though. Thank you for the meal.

This is a bakery in the basement of Ginza Matsuya department store. There are several bakeries here, but today I was drawn to the beautifully displayed baguettes. I ended up buying a pistachio bread, a fig bread, and a croissant. The croissant had a slightly hard outer layer but a great buttery aroma. The fig bread had just the right size and amount of figs, giving a nice chewy texture. The pistachio bread was visually appealing with evenly distributed green pistachios, moist and delicious.

I tried Maison Kayser at several locations in Paris and my conclusion is that I prefer the high-quality bakeries in Japan. Although I do think Maison Kayser in Japan is also delicious, when compared to top-tier bakeries... Well, I believe it is of a high standard for a chain where you can easily grab something to eat.

I had a croissant at Maison Kayser in Ginza Matsuya. I have always liked their croissants, which have a crispy crust and a moist, buttery aroma in the dough. It was delicious.

Recently, I've been exploring new bakeries, and although it's been a while since I last had their bread, it's still incredibly delicious. Everything I choose is a favorite, and I'm reminded of how much I love their bread each time. This time, I bought two items for the first time:
⭐️ Praline Croissant
I love pralines, so I was excited to see a seasonal praline croissant available! It's undeniably delicious. The nutty aroma and sweetness of the praline, different from chocolate, are amazing. It reminds me of Nutella.
⭐️ Chocolate Baguette
This is also very delicious! The bite-sized, elongated shape makes it easy to eat. The harmony of the generous chunks of chocolate and the gentle sweetness of the bread is fantastic. The cashew nuts are a great accent. All of their hard breads have a nice texture, not too hard, and you can feel the gentle sweetness of the wheat. Maison Kayser's bread continues to be in my top 3 bakeries because there are seriously no disappointments.

Underneath Matsuya Ginza, there is a Maison Kayser. I decided to stop by after not being able to find my favorite honey-filled soft bread at other Maison Kayser locations recently (I think it's just bad timing). I found it lined up here and was delighted to purchase it. I also came across the seasonal limited edition Campagne Fruits Rouge, which I think I saw a long time ago. It contains red fruit, cranberries, and possibly other fruits that I couldn't identify. Maison Kayser's bread is made with care and has a consistent taste. Thank you for the meal.

In various places in the Kanto region, you can find Maison Kayser. Our store is located on the basement floor of Ginza Matsuya, in a corner of the bread section where Ginza Kimuraya and Asanoya are lined up. Although their croissants are famous, I was curious about the limited edition bread available at this branch, so I decided to buy it. Ginza Matsuya Store Limited Edition "Pan Nakahora" for ¥346. It has a round shape with diamond-shaped cuts, similar to what is commonly known as "boule" in other bakeries. When I got home, I cut it into 6 pieces. The dense dough has a brownish color as if it were made with whole wheat, and it has a unique umami flavor. It's similar to sourdough, but without the sourness. I tried it first with butter and honey, then as an egg sandwich, and found it versatile for both sweet and savory dishes. I'm not sure if it's because of the milk from Nakahora Farm, but I thought it was a very practical bread to have.

My Levain bread is really delicious! I decided to purchase it after reading a great review. It's been a while since I had Kaiser bread, so I also bought two other items:
* Unique Honey Bread - ¥880 (excluding tax)
* Pan au Fromage - ¥440
* Delis Blanc - ¥300
The Unique Honey Bread is truly delicious! The soft and dense dough emits a honey aroma when toasted. It has a subtle sweetness, and it tastes heavenly with butter on top. My daughter said it's the most delicious bread she's had recently, and she enjoyed it as toast for breakfast and lunch.
The Pan au Fromage has a light dough with a strong cheese flavor, making it very tasty.
As for the Delis Blanc, it's a white chocolate lover's dream. It lives up to its name and is incredibly delicious.
Regarding the Kaiser bread, I feel that the taste may vary depending on the store, but the one from the Matsuya store is good. Taking into account the compact size of the store, I give it a positive evaluation.

I had a reason to go to Matsuya Ginza, so I bought a croissant at Maison Kayser in the basement. Maison Kayser's croissant is popular and a classic. When wrapped in aluminum foil and warmed in a toaster, the dough warms up and the butter aroma becomes rich. The combination of buttery aroma and crispy croissant texture is very delicious. The croissant dough, with layers that peel off beautifully, is generously made with butter. It is a delicious croissant with a good balance of buttery saltiness and sweetness. The classic and popular croissant is a taste that never gets old no matter how many times you eat it.

The Pan au Fromage is especially delicious. Also, the Quiche is great! I used to buy sandwiches often in the past, so I hope they bring them back. I particularly liked the ham and Emmental cheese sandwich! The staff was also very friendly.

First visit in March 2021 (No.2482). I have only recently started actively picking up bread topics from last year, so I am not experienced in this area. Maison Kayser is a world-renowned bakery founded by the genius bread artisan Eric Kayser, who is said to come once every 50 years. They have many stores in Japan. I had assumed that some bakeries were OEM'd by Maison Kayser, but I was surprised to learn that the Japan representative, Shuichiro Kimura, is a descendant (grandson? great-grandson?) of Kimura Yasubei, who created the "anpan" in the Meiji era. Knowing this fact, it makes sense that the bread from this shop is delicious even if it is OEM'd. I bought the following product, which seems to have the widest range of use since my freezer stock of bread is now gone: Half loaf of bread for 356 yen. This original bread made with fresh cream is exceptionally delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went to buy a baguette. Oh, I think I'll also get a fig bread. Oh no, I couldn't resist the temptation of chestnuts no matter how much I tried to convince myself. The half-cut candied chestnuts, chestnut cream, and custard? The crispy Danish pastry dough is delicious too! ♡

Maison Kayser is located in the basement of Matsuya Ginza department store. It is one of my favorite bakery chains, and whenever I see it, I can't help but stop by. The bread is delicious, but the pastries are also tasty. I bought some financiers, which are small and round, and they are so cute. They are moist and have a gentle sweetness. I highly recommend them as they are delicious.

At Maison Kayser in Matsuya B1, I bought a lemon pie and a banana bread. It came with a seasonal limited edition pastry called Curcuma, which has turmeric mixed in. The total cost was 691 yen. The lemon pie was large and satisfying, but the artificial lemon flavor was a bit too strong for my taste. The banana bread, called "Bananoa," had walnuts, raisins, and banana pulp in it. It had a fluffy banana flavor and a nice nutty taste. It was shaped like a large crescent, so I cut it into three pieces to eat. The Curcuma pastry I got as a sample was soft and moist, with a subtle turmeric flavor. It was easy to eat and quite delicious.

I stopped by Maison Kayser in the basement of Ginza Matsuya. As a fan of Maison Kayser, I had to buy something once I found it! The store was run by a single older sister and she seemed to be working hard. On this day, I purchased 5 items including croissants, apple pie, and chocolate bread. They were all delicious with a crispy texture and a fragrant buttery taste.

Sometimes I buy from Maison Kayser. While there are some types of bread that I like, I don't love them. There are many stores like Roppongi Midtown, Colette Nihonbashi, etc., but when it comes to Shinjuku Isetan and Ginza Matsuya, I can only buy the value set [Kaiser Set]. I have a tendency to encounter this set often. I wonder if I can't do anything about this frugality. You can check the contents of the set before buying. The 5-item set costs 1,080 yen (tax included), and now it even comes with a paid takeout bag! I was looking for this, but none of the 4 people in front of me and 1 person behind me were buying it. Aren't they looking at what stands out? Isn't it normal not to be swayed by this? It's good if it contains things I like, but I end up buying it even though I don't particularly like the Danish. My family members who like a certain store's chocolate croissant ended up having to eat the Danish chocolate bar, which was very scarce, and they said the Danish was too soft and moist. They told me not to buy it anymore. The croissant had the same texture, and the raisin something as well. I don't remember them being so soft and moist before. Has something changed in recent years? I'm still undecided on what to buy in the future, but I have been holding onto the stamp card for many years. I'm aiming for at least once to get 1,000 yen off! Thank you for the meal.

I just realized that I hadn't reviewed this despite having it so many times! Matsuya's Maison Kaiser, too close to forget. Limited edition cereal and cheese bread, the cereal was visible but where's the cheese? It's not in solid form, but you can smell and taste it. It has a rich smoky flavor. Even though it's not in a visible form, it's definitely there. Oh, there it is! A small amount of diced cheese, but it's definitely there. Earl Grey and orange bread, as soon as you break it, you can smell the orange! Lots of orange peel, not the type with tea leaves but the type that blends with the dough. The tea flavor is subtle despite the color. Croissants are more popular, but I prefer the hard ones.
