Renowned pastry chef Enomoto, who has achieved top ratings in national bakery rankings with "Pan de Philozof," quietly opened a bistro in a hidden alley just off Kagurazaka Street at the end of January 2022. The location is like a secret base that excites you with its unexpected presence. The counter has 5 seats available, and we chose to sit here. It's a prime spot where you can watch the cooking right in front of you. The bread is called "Pan du Filou," with a chewy texture and a strong wheat aroma, enhanced with added koji. While the original alpha baguette is meant to be enjoyed on its own for its texture and wheat fragrance, the addition of koji makes it even more suitable for pairing with dishes. The key to fully enjoying this restaurant is to soak the bread generously in the sauce of the dish. However, dishes that clearly anticipate such a marriage can sell out quite quickly, so it's recommended to arrive early. Nevertheless, there are many delicious options even if you don't choose based on that perspective. The seasoning is a bit peculiar but not off-putting. Personally, I prefer pate with a stronger meaty or liver flavor. The seafood dishes are tasty and easy to enjoy, so the carpaccio and bruschetta are must-tries. Choose your favorite dishes, pair them with reasonably priced wines, and enjoy a nice bistro that impresses almost anyone you bring along, reflecting the current vibe of Kagurazaka. Total bill: 14,000 yen for 2 people. Menu included Minestrone (complimentary), Homemade bread, Amberjack carpaccio, Octopus ragout and basil bruschetta, Venison pate de campagne, Octopus and vegetable anchovy marinated, Ezo deer cutlet with red wine sauce, Craft beer x2, Malinga Riesling 2020, Four Roads Old Vine Grenache 2020.

The cozy underground restaurant was bustling with customers, many of whom seemed to be regulars. As time passed, more items on the menu and glass wines were sold out. We decided to order a variety of appetizers a la carte, but watching a nearby table enjoying the set course made us think that it might have been a better value for two people. Nevertheless, everything we ordered was delicious.

The food was incredibly delicious. Three of us, ladies or madams, spent a little over ¥28,000. We opted for the course menu. The bread and craft beer were also delicious, and the conversation flowed smoothly. Two and a half hours passed in the blink of an eye. The atmosphere was also very pleasant. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I visited this restaurant on a weekday night with a same-day reservation. It is owned by the same owner as the famous bakery "Pan de Philosophie" in Kagurazaka, so I was looking forward to it even before going. The restaurant is located in a residential area with few other shops around, and it exudes a stylish atmosphere even in its dark interior. I was intrigued by the extensive à la carte menu, so I decided to order the course menu instead. While not all dishes were exceptional, they were all elegantly seasoned and lifted my spirits. In particular, the sautéed sea bream was truly outstanding. The way it was cooked and its compatibility with the sauce were superb. The bread, being from the "Pan de Philosophie" line, was also excellent. Although butter was not provided, I didn't mind at all. Surprisingly, the wines were even better than expected. I only ordered white wine due to the course structure, but each one had a subtle yet deep and wonderful flavor that was perfect for summer. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience. ◆Course - Corn Bavarois 3.5 - Grilled swordtip squid 3.5 - Fried conger eel 3.5 - Scallops and clams herb butter sauté 3.5 - Sautéed sea bream 4.0 - Braised Kagoshima pork 3.5 - Tiramisu 3.5 ◆Ambiance/Service 3.5 ◆Price 3.58 Approximately 10,000 yen per person

I visited "deux feuilles" located in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The name is pronounced as "Du Fuiyu" in French, meaning "two leaves." The restaurant is a bistro opened in January 2022 by Chef Enomoto, who was selected as one of the top 100 bakeries in Tokyo by "Tabelog Pan TOKYO Best 100 2022・2020." The interior has a cozy atmosphere with concrete walls and wooden accents. I tried dishes like corn bavarois, grilled zucchini with marinated octopus, chilled ayu and cucumber potage, fried conger eel with Yamagata dashi, sautéed Fukushima sea bass with burnt butter sauce, braised Kagoshima black pork with Lyonese and white wine sauce, and tiramisu. The combination of flavors in each dish was exquisite, and the quality exceeded the price. I felt very satisfied with the experience.

Located in Kagurazaka, "deux feuilles" is the sister store of the popular bakery "Pan de Philosophie" in Kagurazaka! We ordered the following dishes: - Corn Bavarois as a complimentary starter - Ripe melon and burrata cheese (¥1,980) - Wagyu beef tartare with corn galette (¥1,850) - Bouillabaisse with fresh fish (¥3,300) - Ezo deer cutlet with red wine sauce (¥1,850) They serve stylish and delicious dishes such as rich bouillabaisse and melon with burrata cheese. You can also enjoy craft beer, sake, choose your own wine from the walk-in cellar, and indulge in the popular bakery's bread. The total cost per person is around ¥7,000 to ¥8,000. I was happy to be able to visit with a same-day reservation! A must-visit restaurant in the neighborhood.

I finally got to visit the famous bakery where there is always a long line. The course meal was priced at 4950 yen, which was a great deal! It included 7 dishes with dessert. The bread was crispy and chewy, and I wanted to have seconds. The dish with mashed soramame topped with minced meat was creative and delicious. I felt happy and satisfied. I would love to go back again.

The bread was as delicious as I had heard. I wanted to eat more but refrained. The salad, soup, and meat were all delicious with a fresh and unique taste. There were no disappointments. I looked forward to what dish would come next in the course. The edamame croquette was especially delicious. The variety of beer was satisfying. The cost performance of the course was also good.

"Pain de Philosophe" visited the popular bistro "deux feuilles" for the first time ⭐️ Chef Tetsu Enomoto, the owner of the renowned bakery "Pain de Philosophe," opened this bistro in January 2022. You can choose between a course menu and à la carte, and this time we ordered à la carte items that caught our attention. - Visit Details - Day: Saturday Dinner Reservation: Required (made by phone on the same day) Party Size: With a friend (2 people) Cost: ¥7,000 - ¥8,000 - Food Review - ▶ Pain de Feu: It's delightful to enjoy the bread from Pain de Philosophe. The alpha baguette with a chewy texture and added koji has a strong wheat flavor. Delicious! ▶ Venison Pate with Pain de Campagne: Served with whole peppercorns, salt, and mustard, accompanied by carrot remoulade. The venison's chunky texture is excellent, and the richness of the fat spreads beautifully, making it perfect with wine. ▶ Rich Crab Cream Croquette: The crispy texture reveals a rich creamy crab filling that spreads in your mouth, which is absolutely fantastic. ▶ Beef and Mushroom Ravioli: The ravioli is quite thick but incredibly chewy. The concentrated flavors of beef and mushrooms, along with a hint of truffle aroma, are delightful. ▶ Tiramisu: A rich and creamy dessert with a bittersweet adult sweetness that is delightful. - Menu Items - ◇ Venison Pate with Pain de Campagne ¥940 ◇ Rich Crab Cream Croquette (2 pieces) ¥1,450 ◇ Beef and Mushroom Ravioli ¥1,830 ◇ Tiramisu ¥715 - Service - Friendly service - Value for Money - Drinks like wine by the glass can add up, so it might get a bit pricey. It seems like you can enjoy a variety of dishes better with a larger group! - Ambiance - The restaurant is quietly situated in a back alley of Kagurazaka. It is located a few steps down the stairs in what feels like a semi-basement. The interior is slightly dim, with a counter and tables available. The spacious kitchen can be seen from the counter seats. - Would Visit Again - ★★☆☆☆ Seems easy to casually visit and enjoy! ♡

Just a few minutes' walk from Kagurazaka Station is a bistro run by the owner of the renowned bakery "Pan de Philosophe." Just hearing that, you can tell the food must be delicious, right? The restaurant, located half underground, has both table and counter seats. You can see the kitchen from the counter seats. The chef, a somewhat reserved man, works alongside a female staff and a service woman to ensure smooth operation. They offer courses and a la carte dishes, all served efficiently. The owner found the chef at a French restaurant in Kagurazaka. The bistro serves proper bistro cuisine using many Japanese ingredients, with an overall gentle taste. On this particular day, I was tempted by the a la carte menu, but as it was my first visit, I opted to add one dish to the 7-course omakase menu for 4950 yen. 1. Fava bean mousse with tomato sauce 2. Soy sauce-marinated scallops with aromatic vegetable salad 3. White asparagus with mushroom and onion paste topped with shirasu 4. Rich crab cream croquettes (2 pieces) for 1450 yen 5. Sardine beccafico with blood orange and butter sauce 6. Roasted golden threadfin bream with crustacean sauce and barley risotto 7. Prime black beef shoulder roast with beetroot puree, sansho pepper, fond de veau, and red wine sauce 8. Basque cheesecake 9. Herbal tea Of course, the bread served is from "Pan de Philosophe." I was tempted to ask for seconds, but I was already full from the delicious dishes. I paired my meal with a glass of red wine (Luxe Calme et Volupte 2019 from the Rhone region for 1450 yen) and sparkling mineral water. The value for money is excellent, and if this bistro were nearby, I would definitely recommend dropping by for some a la carte dishes and wine.

- Bistro run by Mr. Filosof, a renowned bakery in Kagurazaka - The name of the restaurant is difficult to pronounce: Doufeu - Counter with 5 seats, around 5 tables, walls with exposed concrete - You can order a la carte, although there is also an omakase option - The new onion babarowa (appetizer) is bouncy and delicious, perfect for dipping bread - Salad with horse mackerel, bamboo shoots, and mountain vegetables - Fresh oysters - Rich and creamy crab cream croquette, as the name suggests - Ravioli with a thick skin, reminiscent of water dumplings, with a nice chewy texture - Roasted chicken with blue blanc sauce, tender inside with a crispy exterior, and a delicious buttery sauce - Fried firefly squid and fiddlehead fern rolls, a unique and tasty dish with a good balance of flavors - The bread is delicious and adds to the overall dining experience, although it's not served for refills - While not a bistro known for its bread, it's a convenient and enjoyable dining spot

I visited Bistro Dufeuille, a bakery and bistro run by the philosopher and baker Chef Enomoto, who I am a big fan of. I had made a reservation to enjoy their dishes that pair well with their signature high-hydration, crispy outside and chewy inside bread. I informed them of my many food dislikes in advance, and they prepared a special course for me. The dishes included: - New onion pudding - Carpaccio - Baguette - Roasted asparagus with caramelized kumquats - Pan-seared scallops - Grilled sea bream with crispy skin - Roast pork - Pudding Every dish, both the food itself and the sauces, was delicious and paired perfectly with the bread. The new onion pudding appetizer was smooth and creamy like panna cotta and incredibly tasty.

A calm restaurant with an adult atmosphere. We chose this place because my companion wanted to avoid restaurants with large groups. The course menu starting from ¥4,950 is reasonable, but the à la carte menu was too tempting, so we ended up ordering à la carte. It was a hit! The appetizers using ingredients like wood sorrel and mountain vegetables, and the must-order crab cream croquette were delicious and easy to enjoy with chopsticks, allowing us to relax while savoring the flavors. I look forward to trying the seasonal menu, so I would love to visit again.

It was amazing! It had been a while since I met up with my friends, and it was a long time since we had eaten out. Everything exceeded my expectations in terms of deliciousness. It was a bistro run by a bakery, and the bread was also delicious as expected. However, the portions were unexpectedly generous, so I ended up eating too much. We had about two drinks each for four people, and the total bill for sharing was just under 9,000 yen per person. It's not something we do often, but I would love to go back again.

A relatively new bistro located a few minutes' walk from the 1a exit of Kagurazaka Station. It is affiliated with a famous bakery. I visited on a weekday evening with a reservation as the seats were full. They offer a 7-course chef's choice menu, but this time we ordered a la carte. The appetizer was delicious, especially the tartare. The main dishes included sashimi, fried conger eel, and deer meat, all of which were tasty and well-cooked. The atmosphere was stylish yet casual, with plenty of seating. Overall, it was a high-quality and convenient restaurant.

Kagurazaka's Dou Feuille. This bistro is run by the popular bakery "Pan de Philosophie," featured in the top 100 bakeries in Japan. Tucked away in a quiet alley off Kagurazaka Street, we visited for dinner. We enjoyed wine, bread, and delicious dishes. We had: New onion Bavarois, Iwate oysters, Scallop and sweet shrimp tartare with yuzu flavor, Rich crab cream croquette, Oyster stuffed cabbage rolls, Deep-fried conger eel, Grilled Kawamata chicken breast with beurre blanc sauce, and the original bread from the shop. The wines we tried were: Champagne Napoleon Brut Blanc de Blancs, Brother Nature Field Blend 2020, Macon La Roche Vineuse 2019, Riesling Two Rays Riedrose 2019, and Matan Midi et Soir 2020. The bread was delicious as expected, and the staff kindly explained the wines and dishes when we ordered. They did a great job pairing the wines, making the food even more delicious. Kagurazaka has many wonderful restaurants. Thank you for the feast.

Located in the alleyways of Kagurazaka, this bistro offers dishes that make the most of seasonal ingredients, paired with wine and craft beer. You can also enjoy the original bread from Pan de Philosof. The menu includes the shop's original fluffy bread made with malt and yeast starter, seasonal pot-au-feu (appetizer), oysters from Iwate Prefecture, sea bass carpaccio, octopus ragout and basil bruschetta, seared marinated mackerel with persimmon, fried conger eel, mushroom ravioli with beef, and deer pate with campagne bread. The unusual craft beers and Tuscan wines with a barrel aroma complement the dishes perfectly. The staff adjusted the portions according to the number of people, which was very helpful. Everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The à la carte menu looked tempting, but I decided to go with the course menu. The course was around 4,950 yen. Here's what I had: - Cauliflower Potage - Pan de Philosophie bread - Millefeuille of Buri (yellowtail), Ikura (salmon roe), Shishito pepper, Burnt butter sauce - Hirame (flounder), Turnip soup - Inoshishi (wild boar) Hashed Parmentier - Duck confit, Shitamachi negi (Tokyo green onion) Preserved - Tiramisu All the dishes were delicious and well-presented! "deux feuilles" in Kagurazaka. I found this place on Instagram and was curious about it. It's a bistro sister shop of a bakery, so the bread is delicious!!♡ I wish there were more menu items using bread! When you order wine by the bottle, you are taken to the wine cellar to choose freely (*´ω`*) so nice!! I opted for the course meal, but maybe a la carte would have been better! They couldn't serve a birthday plate at the counter... so I requested a counter seat without the plate, but when I arrived at the restaurant, I was seated at a table... I wish they had given me the birthday plate instead. It would have been better if the service was a little nicer (´・ω・`)

Bistro located in Kagurazaka. A hidden gem that opened in January 2022. Visited for dinner on a weekday. The name of the restaurant is pronounced "Du Feuille". It is a sister store of the bakery "Pan de Philosoph". Tucked away on a side street off the main road. Located slightly below ground level. Upon entering, there are tables in the front and a counter to the right. The counter overlooks the open kitchen, allowing diners to watch the chefs at work. The staff consists of 2 chefs and 2 servers. Despite a group of customers, the chefs worked efficiently and the pace of food service was just right. [Chef's Course] (4,950 yen) ■ Cold pumpkin potage ■ Alpha baguette from "Pan de Philosoph". Made using a sponge dough method. Blended with rice flour in addition to wheat flour. The twisted shape gives it a unique and distinctive appearance. Nicely warmed with a strong wheat aroma, crispy crust, and chewy interior. ■ Confit of lily bulbs Served with hummus, salted ginkgo nuts, lotus root and burdock chips. The texture of the ginkgo nuts and the mashed lily bulb sauce complement each other well. ■ Seared autumn saury with Kitakari apple butter sauce. Capers. Sweet Kitakari apple. ■ Prosciutto with fig and mint. ■ Chawanmushi with porcini mushrooms and homemade salmon roe. ■ Autumn salmon with sweet potato puree. Sautéed mushrooms. A familial relationship with the previous salmon roe. ■ Main dish "Yonezawa beef sukiyaki-style" with spinach confit, corn puree, and egg yolk. Resembles a sauce base. ■ Dessert "Pudding" with a rich caramel sauce. ■ Coffee (additional) [Wine] ■ Amberg Ott 2020 (Austria) white. ■ Roditis Sant'Or 2021 (Greece) orange. ■ Soli Pinot Noir 2019 (Bulgaria) red. The taste, presentation, and value for money are excellent. It was comfortable throughout the meal. Found a great restaurant.

Kagurazaka Station is a 5-minute walk away, tucked away in a back alley off the main street is a stylish bistro hidden underground. In January, the popular bakery in Kagurazaka, "Pan de Philosophe," opened a new collaborative restaurant called "deuxfeuilles." I was invited for the first visit and I love the bread from "Pan de Philosophe." The restaurant offers a wide variety of wines. The drink menu is a bit pricey, with a grape juice priced at ¥1100 per glass. The "Omakase Course" costs ¥4950 including tax and consists of an Amuse-bouche, 4 appetizers, a main course, and dessert. The bread from Pan de Philosophe is delicious, with a crispy crust. The gazpacho with watermelon and tomato is refreshing. The bonito and red shiso jelly with moroheiya is accompanied by crunchy slices of abalone. The minced meat and tofu with sea urchin is a unique combination. The quail is tender and flavorful. The fried young ayu with eggplant and sansho pepper sauce is bitter and delicious. The sautéed sea bass with salsa verde and white kidney bean sauce is light and tasty. The main course is roast venison with red wine sauce and corn galette. The dessert is cheesecake, followed by coffee for an additional charge of ¥660. The restaurant is perfect for leisurely enjoying wine and small dishes, making it ideal for dates, girls' nights out, or even solo visits. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
