Suekkss
Renowned pastry chef Enomoto, who has achieved top ratings in national bakery rankings with "Pan de Philozof," quietly opened a bistro in a hidden alley just off Kagurazaka Street at the end of January 2022. The location is like a secret base that excites you with its unexpected presence. The counter has 5 seats available, and we chose to sit here. It's a prime spot where you can watch the cooking right in front of you. The bread is called "Pan du Filou," with a chewy texture and a strong wheat aroma, enhanced with added koji. While the original alpha baguette is meant to be enjoyed on its own for its texture and wheat fragrance, the addition of koji makes it even more suitable for pairing with dishes. The key to fully enjoying this restaurant is to soak the bread generously in the sauce of the dish. However, dishes that clearly anticipate such a marriage can sell out quite quickly, so it's recommended to arrive early. Nevertheless, there are many delicious options even if you don't choose based on that perspective. The seasoning is a bit peculiar but not off-putting. Personally, I prefer pate with a stronger meaty or liver flavor. The seafood dishes are tasty and easy to enjoy, so the carpaccio and bruschetta are must-tries. Choose your favorite dishes, pair them with reasonably priced wines, and enjoy a nice bistro that impresses almost anyone you bring along, reflecting the current vibe of Kagurazaka. Total bill: 14,000 yen for 2 people. Menu included Minestrone (complimentary), Homemade bread, Amberjack carpaccio, Octopus ragout and basil bruschetta, Venison pate de campagne, Octopus and vegetable anchovy marinated, Ezo deer cutlet with red wine sauce, Craft beer x2, Malinga Riesling 2020, Four Roads Old Vine Grenache 2020.
