I had been curious about this shop for a while. I visited on a weekday afternoon and there were about 7 customers inside, with more coming in one after another. Some people were buying over 10 items at once. I couldn't eat everything I wanted to buy, so I started with the spicy cod roe Madonna that caught my eye. It was a PayPay 30% cashback eligible store. It had plenty of cod roe and a strong buttery aroma, which I personally really liked. It was around 300 yen, so the cost performance was great. I will definitely come back.

I took advantage of the weekend lunch two days in a row, thanks to the PayPay campaign. Today, I purchased 9 items for just under 2000 yen before tax. I chose a different bread than yesterday. I bought the delicious turnip bread again from yesterday. When I heated it up in the microwave for a bit, the dough became chewy and even more delicious.

On a holiday, I visited this restaurant for the first time in a while and ordered 8 items, totaling exactly 2000 yen without tax. Each dish had a good portion size and was delicious, offering great value for money. One item that caught my eye was the "mekabu sesame France," which had a striking green color. I decided to try it out of curiosity, and it turned out to be delicious. I might become addicted to it. Additionally, I received complimentary bread crusts. This is a great restaurant.

I tried the tamago sand (egg sandwich) collaboration at the traditional Japanese restaurant Kiyoshi in Mukojima, with a 30% PayPay discount in Sumida Ward. Unfortunately, it wasn't to my liking. I prefer the original tamago salad. Since many places only offer a 10% PayPay discount, I will come back here again.

There is a shop about a 5-minute walk from Oshiage Station. When you enter the shop, you are greeted with a cheerful "Good morning! Welcome!" I bought a curry bread, cream bread, and a slice of bread. It seemed like they had a point card, but they didn't mention it so I couldn't get one (I realized after paying). It was a bit disappointing since the greeting was so polite.

I was lured by the delicious aroma and visited a nostalgic and innovative bakery with a wide variety of breads. I decided to try their most popular item, called "Mentaiko Madonna." It is a French bread generously spread with spicy cod roe mayo. The buttery French bread soaked up the flavors of the mentaiko perfectly. They are also known for their curry bread. The bakery displays their recommended items for each day, making it easy to see what's popular. They offer a wide variety of bread, including different types of sandwich bread with reservation notes posted. I purchased a savory bread this time, but I would love to try more of their offerings in the future.

"At a bakery called Kamepan, I tried their curry bread and pizza bread. I decided to visit because there was a discount coupon available on PayPay. Unlike some other stores that require a purchase of over 1000 yen to get a discount, this one was easier to use. I couldn't find croissants or butter rolls on the display shelf, so I opted for a savory bread. The Sumida Curry Boss curry bread was 223 yen before tax and was one of the larger ones I've had recently. It had a crispy outer crust and a moderate thickness of bread with a well-packed curry filling. The vegetables in the curry were finely chopped and not very noticeable in terms of texture. The curry didn't have a strong spiciness or distinctive ingredients. The stone oven pizza bread was 213 yen before tax. The bread and toppings had become a bit soggy by the time I purchased it, so I reheated it in a toaster. After reheating, both the bread and toppings looked delicious. The cheese was nicely melted and the bacon and bell pepper were sparingly used. The taste was exactly like a pizza, with a greasy feel typical of pizza bread, making it a hearty savory bread option. I prefer thinner bread, so the thickness was not to my liking. The total price for two bread items was 470 yen including tax, which felt a bit expensive given the current high prices."

I visited in the evening and there were various products to choose from, making it a bit difficult to decide. I ended up buying the "Curry Boss" for breakfast the next day. It's a slightly thin curry bread, but it has plenty of ingredients. The spicy and rich curry flavor was delicious and really woke me up.

On weekends, I often use a bakery called Oットポン in Horikiri, which is very delicious. Comparing it to another bakery called Oットポン, the average price here is in the high 200 yen range, while Oットポン is in the mid-300 yen range, with a difference of nearly 20%. However, I don't think there is a noticeable difference in taste. In fact, the sizes here are slightly larger. Lately, I have been exclusively using this bakery. They have a lot of customers coming in and out, so they provide freshly baked items frequently, which is a good impression. I bought a Bacon Cheese France and an Asparagus Bacon Epi, and enjoyed a happy time snacking with my daughter outside the store.

"Kamepan Tokyo: Located in the shitamachi of Oshiage, just a 5-minute walk from Oshiage Station, this popular bakery always has a long line of customers! The collaboration menu 'Dashi Okami' is available only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays! It's a luxurious sandwich with fluffy egg omelette filled with dashi sandwiched between soft bread. The collaboration with Ryotei Kiyoshi offers a sophisticated taste that is irresistible. The combination with mustard mayonnaise is excellent. The bread is incredibly chewy and satisfying, making it delicious. The most popular item, the curry bread, is filled with plenty of curry, with a crispy outer layer and a fluffy inside, making it the best. Due to the long queues, it's recommended to go early and buy the limited egg sandwich. With a variety of options, it's a shop that will make you want to visit again and again."

Friday, February 2023, 11:00 AM. This popular bakery has several customers already at this time! It seems that they are not currently offering the weekday discount (39 sale) that was previously available. As for the recommended bread for each day, it is as follows:
Wednesday → Salted Butter Roll 108 yen
Thursday → Curry Boss 189 yen
Friday → Mentaiko Madonna 280 yen
Saturday → Washed Sugar Bread 540 yen
But what makes the recommended bread different from purchasing on other days? (I visited the shop on Wednesday, but I couldn't tell the difference in appearance from the Mentaiko Madonna on Friday.) The special Sunday offer is still available, where if you buy 2 loaves of Kameya bread, the second loaf is half price. If you buy 3 loaves, the third loaf is free. This service may end at any time, so it's recommended to visit the shop soon if you're interested.
Here are some of the breads displayed during my visit (all prices excluding tax):
- Bâtard 260 yen
- Cereal Baguette 269 yen
- Mentaiko Madonna 278 yen

Later, I felt a little hungry, so I decided to make a quick stop at a local bakery called "Kamepan Mukojima-ten." It's located a short walk from Oshiage Station, near the Skytree. The bakery has a cozy atmosphere surrounded by residential buildings in the old town. Although the shop now goes by the name "Kamepan Mukojima-ten," it seems to be the same old "Kameya" founded in 1952. Inside, there is a wide variety of bread, and the place is bustling with locals. I purchased the following items: "Soft-Boiled Egg Toast Sandwich" for 367 yen, which had a creamy egg filling with ham as an accent; "Stewed Hamburger" for 430 yen, featuring a stewed hamburger patty, bacon, tomato, and lettuce; and "Bacon and Egg" for 237 yen, a classic combination of bacon and egg on a soft bread. The prices are relatively affordable, and the bakery seems to be a beloved spot for locals.

It's around 13:15 on the weekend and there's a huge line!! The store is packed with about 25 people inside and 5-6 people outside. This place is more popular than expected! Everyone is buying in large quantities. Although there are quite a lot of breads, most of them were sold out. The affordable prices are probably one of the reasons for its popularity. There are also many breads that children would like, making it family-friendly.
◆ Mentaiko Madonna (excluding tax 278 yen)
☆☆☆☆☆
The 2nd most popular! The baguette is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It's filled with mentaiko butter mayonnaise in the middle. This combination is always a hit! It was really delicious.
◆ Vegetable Meat Sauce? (excluding tax 250 yen)
☆☆☆☆
I forgot the correct name... It contains zucchini, bell pepper, carrot, and meat sauce. When reheated, it becomes crispy and fluffy. It's small but satisfying due to the generous amount of ingredients.
◆ Mushroom Gratin (including tax 270 yen)
☆☆
Cream stew on a fluffy and chewy bread dough. It includes broccoli, mushrooms, and onions. This one is better when reheated and eaten hot.

There was a bakery open for business in the morning, so I decided to check it out. The bakery is called "Kameya." They had a variety of delicious and interesting breads, including whole grain bread. However, I came specifically for the collaboration sandwich between Kameya and the traditional Japanese restaurant Kiyoshi, called the "Kiyoshi Egg Sandwich" (800 yen). I had been to Kiyoshi before and knew it was a tasty place, so I wanted to try this sandwich. There were two types of egg sandwiches available: the sweet "Amame-chan" with sweet rolled omelet, and the "Dashijo" with dashi rolled omelet. I chose the Dashijo. I also couldn't resist getting the "Curry Salad" (286 yen), a popular item here, which is a curry bread topped with egg salad. The curry wasn't too spicy, and the combination of curry bread, egg salad, and shredded cabbage was a bit messy but surprisingly good. The Dashijo sandwich, on the other hand, was elegant with its dashi rolled omelet, but I felt that sandwiching it between bread made the flavor of the omelet less pronounced. It was delicious, but I felt it might have been better enjoyed on its own rather than as a sandwich.

Daichi Shokupan 1 loaf (2 lbs) @710 yen. I cut the bread at home. I sliced it to a thickness equivalent to 4 slices, and while cutting it, a very good smell wafted out. It is very soft. I toasted it as usual. It has a crispy texture like a baguette, but the inside is chewy. This is delicious!! The taste may vary depending on personal preference, but I am satisfied with it. This bakery always has long lines, but next time I will try their egg sandwich.

I parked my car and happened to find a bakery that offers a 30% PayPay points promotion. I visited the bakery and bought some bread to take home. When I arrived around 10:00 on a Sunday, there were many customers, so I had to wait for a while. There were always about 10 customers in line. Although there were seats available to eat in front of the store, they were all full. Around 10:19, when the number of customers decreased a bit, I entered the store. However, more customers came in quickly, and there were about 10-15 people inside. The line at the cashier was about 3 people, and the checkout process was quick. I paid with PayPay. The bread was reasonably priced and tasted good, like a humble local bakery. By noon, the store was packed with customers, and there was even a line outside. It was a popular bakery.

I regret not buying it, as it was reasonably priced and had my favorite chocolate berry flavor. I hope to encounter it again next time and definitely make a purchase.

August 20, 2022. This was my first visit. I found out about a paypay campaign being held in Sumida Ward, and I was excited to learn that a banana sweets specialty store that I had always wanted to visit was included in the campaign! I stumbled upon this store while walking around. It was also part of the campaign, so I decided to take a look inside. The store was quite spacious. I visited around 11 o'clock, and it was bustling with customers. There was a wide variety of reasonably priced bread lined up. I was interested in several bread options and was having trouble deciding which one to buy when I suddenly noticed the canelé! I love canelés! Of course, I immediately put it on my tray. I also decided on a French toast with a cute name! The canelé was priced at 213 yen (excluding tax). It was slightly larger than the typical canelé. When I picked it up with the store's tongs, I had a feeling that this canelé was not crispy around the edges, as I prefer. And indeed, it was soft. The bottom was hollow, and there was a dent in the middle, just like a failed canelé I once baked. The taste didn't really have the rum flavor that canelés usually have, and I couldn't help but wonder what I was eating. Considering the low price, I wasn't too shocked, but I don't think I've ever been so disappointed by a canelé before. The "Pooh's Snack" was priced at 167 yen (excluding tax). It was made by turning raisin bread into French toast. It was about 4cm thick, so it had a satisfying texture. The batter didn't soak through to the middle, only on the surface. I felt it was a bit lacking in flavor, but the honey jam topping added a nice sweetness to it. It wasn't too sweet, so I kept eating more and more. Despite the ongoing price increases, I think it's amazing that they provide this at such a low price. I also became interested in the gateau chocolat, so I will definitely come back if I'm in the area. Thank you for the meal!
