【Overall Review】I first encountered Tenka Sushi's group more than 30 years ago at a store near the south exit of Kichijoji. We have had a relationship with this store for over 20 years. It is conveniently located near Shibuya Station, making it very accessible. The sushi priced at less than 100 yen per piece is the best! It is my favorite conveyor belt sushi in Japan. Unlike major chains, the Tenka Sushi group has skilled chefs preparing the sushi. They have a good selection of plates priced at 130 yen and 190 yen. Adding 7-8 plates of sushi priced in the 100 yen range, along with items like chawanmushi and soup, and finishing at around 1,500 yen is the ideal way to enjoy it. The specialty here is shellfish. The lineup includes hotate (scallop), akagai (ark shell), and hotate (scallop), among others. In terms of price and taste balance, the hotate is my favorite. The freshly shucked akagai is priced at the highest level even at this store. While there is a risk of hitting or missing, in the case of a big hit, the satisfaction surpasses the price increase in the bill. When the shellfish selection is abundant, it leaves a good impression. I also recommend items like botan ebi (botan shrimp), zuke maguro (marinated tuna), and blue fish (kohada, aji, iwashi, etc.), as well as hand-rolled sujiko (salmon roe). Surprisingly, you can also enjoy it with vinegar rice. Due to the impact of rising food prices, favorite items are gradually increasing in price, but most items are still priced at less than 100 yen per piece. I have been a regular customer here for a long time. With the decreasing number of traditional rotating sushi restaurants from the Showa era, places like Tenka Sushi are rare. The price, quality of the ingredients, and the sushi rice prepared by the head chef are all top-notch. The quality of the sushi that doesn't rotate is just as good, making me want to stop by every time I come to Shibuya. Recently, I noticed that they no longer offer toro as a service, which is a bit disappointing. (Well, it's tough to provide toro for under 100 yen in this day and age). I can't wait to go back again soon!

I wanted to grab a quick bite before watching a movie in Shibuya. I was considering a hamburger or a beef bowl due to lack of time when I stumbled upon this restaurant! Let's have some sushi quickly! There were about 3 other customers already seated. I had tuna, squid, shrimp, salmon, and eel. 5 plates in total. The fish was fresher and tastier than I had imagined. A couple who came in later was bragging to each other about the place, and I can understand why. I stayed at the restaurant for about 15 minutes. Now, off to the movie theater! Thank you for the meal. Summer 2023.

During lunchtime, there may be a bit of a wait, but the turnover is fast. The lanes are short and the sushi is freshly made, so you can eat it right away! The unique feature is the slightly warm shari made by skilled artisans. Although the portions are small, the overall freshness is good. I particularly enjoyed the homemade steamed shrimp. You can feel the recovery of foreign tourists here. There were more than half of them at the scramble intersection on the day of shooting, I don't know if they were returning from filming. They were ordering tuna rolls with mayo and other things. I ordered my usual hikari sushi. "Iwashi double, shari shou (small)!" "Shime saba double, shari shou." Foreign tourists who are probably not veterans of visiting Japan would probably not order this, but I hope they will eventually understand the deliciousness of hikari sushi.

Shibuya's popular Misato Sushi used to operate continuously, but now they take a break until 5 pm. It's a shame because I used to enjoy leisurely drinking during this relatively quiet time. I decided to head to "Tenka Sushi" instead. I had a California roll as a beer snack, followed by various nigiri such as kawahagi, iwashi, aburi mayo, and maguro, all for 2,000 yen. It's still a fantastic revolving sushi restaurant.

I felt like eating Tenka Sushi. Not just any sushi, not just any conveyor belt sushi, but specifically Tenka Sushi. Good quality at a reasonable price. The warm rice is especially delicious. I couldn't resist the urge and hopped on a train to Shibuya. It's in a small underground shop in a building slightly up Dogenzaka. There are about 50 seats, with three sushi chefs making sushi on the conveyor belt, and one person working in the kitchen for rolls. It's becoming rare to see a conveyor belt sushi where you can see people working. It's completely different from the major chain conveyor belt sushi. I like it. Luckily, they were having a Hokkaido Fair on the second and fourth weekends of the month, and today happened to be that day. I ordered the Kushiro set with 3 pieces of shellfish. Abalone, scallop, and surf clam. The abalone is chewy. The more you chew, the more it melts and smoothly coats your mouth with a slight bitterness. The scallop is large and fills your mouth. The surf clam is stringy and crunchy. Thinly sliced cucumber enhances the aroma and texture. The squid and shrimp at this conveyor belt sushi are delicious. Just as Tanaka-san always says, the squid and shrimp here are delicious. The squid has a crisp bite and melts into the rice. The shrimp is sweet and fragrant. Thank you for the meal. The most popular item is the tuna set with 3 pieces. Lean tuna, medium fatty tuna, and fatty tuna. They gradually reach the perfect state on the warm rice. The acidity of the lean tuna complements the umami of the medium fatty tuna. The fatty tuna is cool. I put plenty of wasabi on top and eat it. The wasabi container flows on the conveyor belt. So you can put a lot. The inbound customers are starting to increase, and they are eating with plenty of green wasabi soy sauce. I order the conger eel as my final roll. I used to always order the kanpyo and wasabi roll. But I decided to try something different today and ordered the "Hawaii roll." It seems to be quite popular because more than 10 orders were placed while I was eating. It's a roll with tuna at the center, shredded lettuce, avocado, and a little bit of mayonnaise. The avocado and mayonnaise melt together, and the crunchy texture of the lettuce mixes in. It's quite tasty. My heart and stomach are satisfied.

I prefer sipping tea from this teacup rather than gulping it down at a cafe. The lunchtime special is 120 yen. As soon as I sit down, I call out to the chef, "Iwashi double, shari shou (small)!" I'm happy that they use freshly grated ginger instead of tube ginger.

Counter sushi restaurants are great, but conveyor belt sushi is also really good. Enjoying some medium fatty tuna and sardines with a beer in hand is the best. Quick and affordable, around 2,000 yen. No need to linger, I usually leave within 15 minutes. There are several locations in Tokyo, and I have probably visited over 100 times. This is my favorite conveyor belt sushi spot.

I really wanted to eat Botan Ebi (shrimp) so I came here for lunch. I arrived around 1pm and there was already a line, but I got in quickly. Last time, there was a limit of 3 plates per person, but today there was no limit. The shrimp today were especially big and juicy. I stopped at 7 shrimp. I really like the Botan Ebi here. Thank you for the meal.

Tonight's dinner was also at Goto Eat. I had a hotel buffet for lunch, so I opted for something lighter for dinner, which was conveyor belt sushi. I visited on Tuesday at 6:30 PM, and the seating rate was about 50%. It's the end of the year, so it's not too crowded. Due to inflation, it seems like prices have gone up at this restaurant as well, as there were notices of price increases on the conveyor belt. Lately, it seems like prices vary depending on the type of plate at many restaurants. But considering that even lower-priced conveyor belt sushi places have become tastier recently, it's understandable. I was tempted to try the Hokkaido Fair menu, but unfortunately, it's only available on weekends, so I couldn't. The total bill came to 1720 yen, and when I checked with Goto Eat, I was able to use it. So, I paid with a 1000 yen Goto Eat voucher, a 500 yen voucher, and 220 yen in cash.

This small chain with 6 locations in Tokyo might be my favorite revolving sushi restaurant. The sushi toppings and rice are large, and they are both delicious and affordable. They offer a variety of 3-piece sets like "3 types of marinated fish" and "3 types of tuna." Their seared sushi is also great, and I always look forward to their daily specials. I believe this chain deserves more recognition.

Dad, who had returned to the ordinary world, went to Shibuya on the weekend. He stopped by Tenka Sushi, recommended by Yuhi Komiyama the other day, to pick up some Toro Taku Maki. I thought it would be similar to the Ikebukuro store since it's a small chain, but it's quite different. The roll is firm, and the daikon radish is clear and gives a nice contrast of red and white. This is good. Next time, I'll get Toro Taku Maki for takeout when I go to Monko-sensei's class.

"Tenchou Sushi" is coming. It is a small chain with six locations in Tokyo. Unlike the big chains, this place has a human touch and a handmade feel that I love. Even though it's early for dinner, the restaurant is lively. There are people snacking and leaving, as well as others drinking alcohol. Today, there are noticeable inbound customers. The scramble intersection is also crowded with foreigners, making me feel like we're slowly returning to the past. When I come here, I always start with squid and shrimp. It's a common choice at any sushi restaurant, but finding a place where both are delicious is a gem. Especially the shrimp is so tasty... plump, sweet, and with a nice aroma. The hand-pressed rice is tangy and sharp, stimulating the appetite with each bite. I noticed a new item on the menu, "seared mayo 3 pieces," and decided to try it with squid, shrimp, and salmon. Mayo is generously spread and torched. The crispy mayo aroma melts, enhancing the flavors, especially the crunchy texture of the squid. The tuna 3 pieces all have a rich, melt-in-your-mouth taste. I enjoy them with plenty of wasabi. Since there was no sea urchin today, I opted for salmon roe battleship sushi instead. The popping sensation and the creamy texture of the roe in my mouth are delightful. I finish with my usual pickled gourd with wasabi and head home leisurely on the bus.

This place is a hidden gem. I felt that it is a restaurant with many fans who appreciate it. Each plate costs 130 yen, which is cheap. It doesn't feel like a place for a date, but you can sense the experience and professionalism. When I first went, I didn't quite understand its greatness, but it has better quality sushi than newer chain conveyor belt sushi restaurants. The mackerel, pickled dishes, and kelp-marinated dishes made in-house are delicious. The squid has a unique texture and taste. I like that the lemon sour isn't too sweet. The wasabi is available on the conveyor belt for you to take as much as you like. It's real spicy wasabi, perfect for wasabi lovers.

This place is right above the Denen-toshi Line, and it's convenient for stopping by because Reigou, Shibahama, and Ajihiro are nearby. It's like using it as a substitute for a cafe, but the stay time is short, about 10 minutes. Iwashi W and Tekkamaki. The grated ginger is freshly grated, not from a tube. Condiments are also important, right?

I used to visit the Kichijoji branch of this restaurant frequently, but I had never been to the Shibuya branch. I had the opportunity to go to Shibuya this time, and since it had been a while since I had been to Tenka Sushi, I decided to visit. It was a little after 3 pm on a Sunday, so there were only a few customers, but on weekday evenings, there are usually around 10 people waiting. The menu was the same as the Kichijoji branch. I ordered the pickled trio (salmon, tuna pickled set) right away. It was delicious as always. I also ordered salmon, conger eel, squid, shrimp, etc. The price is basically 130 yen per plate, and even the most expensive ones are around 300 yen, so it's quite cheap. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Before heading home, I had a light dinner at the conveyor belt sushi restaurant "Tenka Sushi". It's one of my favorite places. The regular items are simply delicious, and the prices are reasonable. The sushi rice is warm and the chilled toppings are gently warming up on the plate, creating a delightful sensation. It's fun to see a bowl of wasabi passing by on the belt, with "WASABI" written in alphabets for foreign visitors. The soy sauce turns green from the wasabi paste that many people mix in. The fatty fish pairs perfectly with the wasabi, so I add plenty of it on the side of the soy sauce dish. Today, I tried the recommended shellfish combo with surf clam, scallop, and clam. The freshness of the toppings, the sharp acidity enhancing the sweetness of the rice, and the warm sushi rice are all satisfying. I also ordered a tuna combo with lean, medium fatty, and fatty tuna. Each piece has a refreshing acidity that complements the varying sweetness and umami levels based on the fat content. I love the cool texture and taste of the lean tuna, so I save it for last. Tanaka always says he loves sushi restaurants with delicious shrimp, and this place passes that test. The plump and thick shrimp, boiled in salt and served as is, is flavorful and aromatic. And it's only 130 yen, which is quite appreciable. I ordered a uni combo as well. The seaweed in their sushi rolls, especially the battleship roll, has a great flavor. It's crisp, with a good bite, and the seaweed's aroma is robust without overpowering the toppings. The uni is not too briny and slightly lacking in sweetness, but still enjoyable. I also love eel. The plump eel, cooked and glazed, topped with ample sweet sauce, is incredibly delicious. The eel melts in your mouth, the sushi rice gently falls apart, and the sticky sauce brings it all together. I finished with a kanwasa roll, which is dried gourd wrapped with plenty of wasabi. The crunchy gourd is sweet and fragrant, while the wasabi adds a sharp kick of spiciness that lingers in your nose. It was delicious. I'll definitely come back again.

For dinner, I decided to have some sushi at this place. The restaurant has an old-fashioned atmosphere with sushi chefs preparing the food right in front of you. I started with ordering shrimp and squid. The shrimp had a nice firm texture and a flavorful black color that was probably prepared in-house. The squid was fresh and tasty. The restaurant was lively and the squid was also very good, possibly due to the quick turnover. The squid tends to lose its sweetness quickly if left at room temperature. The octopus was also good, with a nice chewy texture and a strong sweetness. Overall, this place offers delicious sushi that you wouldn't find at a big chain restaurant, and at a reasonable price.
