I visited this cafe near Exhibition Halls A and B at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro on a weekend afternoon. The place was crowded, but I managed to find a small table by the wall to sit and rest. I ordered a yuzu soda for 450 yen. The food menu had simple items like spaghetti and yakisoba, and for dessert, they offered cheesecake and apple pie. It was a nice little cafe to relax for a short while. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Next to the Sunshine Theater is a cafe. You can buy things at the counter and then sit at the Decorah tables and chairs scattered around. However, calling this place a theater terrace is quite a stretch. There is no cafe space inside the theater, so during intermissions in plays, people might come here to have tea. When I visited, there was a male staff member at the counter. There may be another staff member in the back, but I'm not sure. They seem eager to fill the cups with coffee almost to the brim. Even if you order just one coffee, it is served on a tray. However, you have to carry it to your seat yourself, which can be a bit nerve-wracking. There is a water pot and cups on the left side of the counter for self-service. There is also a self-service area for returning used dishes to the left of the water pot. The coffee is pre-brewed, but it tastes decent enough. It reminds me of the old coffee from family restaurants or old McDonald's, which is oddly nostalgic. There is a sign on the table saying "Please order one item per person," which seems to be aimed at a specific type of customers, making the atmosphere a bit lonely.

I got off at Ikebukuro Station and Higashi-Ikebukuro Station. There is a café adjacent to the "Sunshine Theater" on the 4th floor of the "Bunka Kaikan" next to Sunshine City 60. The menu includes dishes like spaghetti Napolitan, yakisoba, and curry rice, as well as desserts like apple pie and cheesecake. The atmosphere inside the café can be calm if it's not too crowded, but if there is an event next door, the noise and crowd can affect the ambiance. Customers return their used dishes to a return slot in a self-service system. Sometimes, the café holds collaboration events with the neighboring event space, offering themed menu items. During the "Love Live! SIF Thanksgiving 2016" event, I visited the café for a collaboration menu. Each food item came with an original postcard featuring different characters, with menu items tailored to each character. The event was popular, with long lines in front of the café. I felt sorry for the staff and hoped they wouldn't overwork themselves. I ordered various items, all priced at 600 yen, including Hanayo's matcha cheesecake, Umi's Concord grape juice, Eli's Blue Hawaii soda, and Maki's blueberry soda with strawberry. The flavors matched the characters' image colors. On another occasion, I visited during the Ultraman Café collaboration event, where I tried an ice cream sausage coffee for 400 yen.

Visited for the first time on July 29, 2015. As expected from Tabelog, it was registered (lol). So, this is a complete extra edition. I am here now (lol). Came to Sunshine Theatre to see a play by Caramel Box. Picked up the tickets I reserved and now relaxing with my wife since we have some time. However, even though it's a weekday, it's quite crowded here ⊂((・x・))⊃ There seems to be an Ultraman-related exhibition, so the 4th floor is full of families with children. There are a lot of dads with strollers, which is surprising. It's a great location right next to the theatre, and the drink menu is not that expensive. But it's super crowded σ^_^; Despite that, the part-time staff's service is friendly, and you can relax comfortably. However, I think this place is more suited for those who like children o(^▽^)o As I was writing, I exceeded 300 characters (lol). Um, I had a can of Kirin Ichiban Shibori beer σ^_^; It was 450 yen. Considering the location, it's not expensive. Nothing else to write about (lol) Well, I'll just post it without worrying (lol)

Next to the Sunshine Theater, I decided to take a break at this café during my lunch break. The interior is calm and simple, with very few decorations. It's perfect for a quick break during a wait. There is a smoking area in the back left, which is convenient for smokers. The café is self-service style, offering coffee, desserts, and light meals at reasonable prices considering the location. I ordered a café latte for 350 yen, which was average in taste. It was a good companion for a chat, and I enjoyed it while relaxing. It's a nice place for meetings or casual conversations, but not really suitable for having a full meal. I couldn't imagine eating something there based on the atmosphere. I might try their desserts next time.

On the day of the theater viewing event for Caramel Box's 25th-anniversary performance "Bye Bye Blackbird," we visited this restaurant. It is located right next to the Sunshine Theater, almost like it's a part of it. The atmosphere was lively with top reviewers chatting all around, and the sound of shutters snapping pictures of the food. The interior of the restaurant is predominantly white, giving off a clean and bright vibe. The glass walls allow for a view from the outside, creating a pleasant and airy ambiance. I ordered the "Matcha Milk" for 350 yen, which I found to be very reasonably priced. The portion size was generous for the price, although the taste was quite sweet, which may not be suitable for those who dislike overly sweet drinks. Overall, considering the price and atmosphere, I think it's a great place to visit, especially if you're heading to the Sunshine Theater. It's a spacious venue that could also be used for small meetings or gatherings.

Sipping on a chocolate drink, I arrived here. Feeling thirsty from the sweetness, I thought about getting oolong tea, but I opted for a colorful PET bottle for the same price of 300 yen. It had a slightly powdery texture, but the taste was not too sweet, just as I had hoped. Then, I enjoyed the theater group Caramel Box 25th #2 "Bye Bye Blackbird". Earlier, I watched the theater group Caramel Box 25th #1 "Halftime Theater Double Feature Chronos Jounata's Legend"Miss Dandelion" and "At the Southern Cross Station". The meeting time was set for the start time of the day, 13:30, at this location. I arrived in Ikebukuro around 12 o'clock, had lunch at A Large, bought shoes impulsively at Sunshine City, and arrived at the Sunshine Theater a little early, carrying a large paper bag. Since I had some extra time, I decided to wait inside the theater. I ordered and paid at the entrance, received a numbered ticket, and secured my seat. I usually sit in a corner if I'm alone, but since about 20 people were expected to gather, I confidently sat in a 4-person seat near the entrance to the theater. Although the entrance to the shop and the entrance to the theater were separate, they were ultimately connected inside. I saw a familiar face through the glass, called them over, and chatted about having lunch at the same restaurant. My number was called, so I went to pick up my order. I ordered yuzu tea (\300) to be considerate of my cold, and since I wanted something a little sweet, I also got a pumpkin cake (\400), which cost \550 as a set. The pumpkin cake had a strong pumpkin flavor, which was delicious. The texture was a bit crumbly, making it a bit difficult to eat at the end, but overall, it was a satisfying dish. The yuzu tea was gentle on my throat, which was nice since I was feeling a bit under the weather. It's not a menu item I often see elsewhere, so I was happy about that. As I was eating, more and more people gathered. The opening time arrived, and the surrounding area became more crowded. The familiar faces were chatting, but I decided to enter the theater a bit early. And I enjoyed the stage performance. The continuation of the stage performance is still to come, but that's for next time, March 2010.

Today, I went to see the play "ByeByeBlackbird" organized by Miutan Papa-san at Caramel Box. I met up with fellow reviewers from Tabelog. We used a restaurant near the Sunshine Theatre entrance for our meeting spot, which was convenient. It's a self-service type of place where you order at the counter and pick up your items. I ordered an iced coffee and an iced tea, each priced at 300 yen. There are three smoking seats separated by doors at the back left of the shop (which was a relief).

This is a café located next to the entrance of the Sunshine Theatre. It seems like a place where people going to the Sunshine Theatre can pass the time before the show starts. I visited before watching the Caramel Box 25th Anniversary performance of "Bye Bye Blackbird." I tried the Yuzu Soda here. I expected a normal carbonated drink like Fanta to be served, but there were yuzu peel and pulp at the bottom of the glass. It was not just a regular carbonated drink poured into a glass. The Yuzu Soda itself was delicious, like a regular carbonated drink. The yuzu at the bottom was tasty with a mix of sourness, sweetness, and a hint of bitterness. It was a bit difficult to scoop up the yuzu because of the ice. It seems like a place with limited customers, but it could be useful for those with business at the Sunshine Theatre. They also have cost-effective multiple ticket options.

I came to the Sunshine Theater to watch a performance by the theater company "Caramel Box" run by Miutan Papa. Since there was some time before the show started, I decided to have tea at this cafe. It's conveniently located right in front of the theater entrance, making it a great spot to grab a drink before the show. The cafe has a spacious non-smoking area and a smoking area that is properly separated by doors to prevent smoke from leaking out. I ordered some delicious-looking hotcakes along with a large cup of tea that was generously poured. As I savored the tea, I noticed that the cup had the logo of Caramel Box on it. Having had a light meal here, I was able to enjoy the show without worrying about my stomach growling.

Ikebukuro, located in Sunshine City, has a cafe attached to the Sunshine Theater on the 4th floor of the Sunshine Culture Hall. I was meeting someone there before watching a play by the theater group Caramel Box. I had planned to arrive early and have ramen in Ikebukuro, but due to delays from a person-related incident on the Yamanote Line, I ended up having lunch at this cafe instead. There were only two curry options and two spaghetti options on the menu, so I decided to trust the recommendation of a fellow diner and ordered the chicken curry. The set with a drink was priced at 750 yen, which seemed reasonable for this type of cafe. The curry looked quite nice with vegetables on top of the rice, and the curry itself was mild and generously portioned. The rice was slightly soft, and there were sizable pieces of chicken in the curry. Overall, the meal was decent for a cafe that doesn't specialize in food. The location is unique, so it may not be a place you would just drop into while exploring Sunshine City, but it's a good spot for meeting up before a theater show.

I came here for a theater performance before the half-off meeting. I don't usually come to Ikebukuro often, but today is different. I usually come just in time for everything, but this time, there was a set meeting time, so I had plenty of time to visit. Before coming here, I also went to an Italian restaurant and had some coffee to quench my thirst. Now, I am here to get some energy. It feels like the same group of people are already having a party here (even though there's no alcohol involved...). In the midst of the excitement, I quickly made a purchase, so next time I come, I would like to take my time and enjoy a coffee.

In December 2008, there was a self-service cafe corner adjacent to the Sunshine Theater. It seems to be independently operated by the parent company Sunshine City, not the theater itself. During the summer, when the "Ultraman Festival" was held in the opposite "Exhibition Hall B," the cafe transformed into the "Ultraman Cafe" with decorations of monsters and Ultraman throughout. They use organic coffee for their drinks and offer a menu that is somewhat fast-food-like. However, they put effort into collaboration menus with theater performances, such as serving a limited edition "Caramel Latte" in an original theater group mug during the winter Caramel Box performances. It's a hidden gem for families looking for a quiet spot amidst the hustle and bustle of Sunshine City on weekends. In April 2009, during the spring Caramel Box performances, they offered a special menu item - "Caramel Ice Cream" with a discount for ticket holders. It had a mild caramel flavor and was served in a cup, perfect for a quick snack before the show. They also have limited edition post-show menus, but I'll keep those a secret to avoid spoilers. In December 2009, during a 15-minute break at the Sunshine Theater, I needed something warm to eat quickly, so the Theater Terrace was a lifesaver. I had curry rice last time, and this time it was meat sauce. I'm not sure how they prepare it, but it arrived in just 5 minutes. It was definitely different from a typical food court spaghetti and tasted quite good, like something you'd find at a decent cafe.

On the day of destiny, at noon, we rushed to this restaurant to welcome two guests from Kansai, who had come to Oizumi. One of them, Mr. M, had to cut short the meal due to work, so we met up again to make final preparations for something. Mr. M worked diligently on shaping the foundation of "something" from the exterior to the interior. The restaurant we met at was conveniently located near Mr. M's workplace at the time, so we were able to meet and work there. I had ordered a yuzu soda as I needed a refreshing drink while we worked on finalizing the "something." The yuzu flavor was rich and refreshing, helping to cool my mind and body as we worked tirelessly. Eventually, all preparations were completed, but we realized we were short on red Santa hats for all eight members of our group. We hurried to various shops in Sunshine City to find more hats, but they were all sold out with Christmas still over 10 days away. With only two hours left until the fateful time, we still had to buy return gifts for our guests from Kansai. It was a race against time, but we managed to make it to the venue in Ikebukuro with 30 minutes to spare before the event started.

I went to see a Christmas performance at the Sunshine Theatre in Ikebukuro on a weekday night, led by "Miutan Papa," a fellow reviewer on this food blog. After picking up the tickets at the theater reception, I was waiting for a couple of friends near the entrance when I heard someone calling my name. It turned out to be a few other reviewers who were also attending the show that night. The open layout of the theater lobby allowed me to easily spot my friends arriving late, making it a convenient meeting spot. Despite the crowded theater entrance due to the popular show, the nearby restaurant was surprisingly empty, making it a great place to relax before the performance. I would definitely consider using this restaurant again for future theater meetups.

(December 2008) After lunch, I decided to take a break at the restaurant next to Sunshine Theatre before entering. The interior, menu, and self-service system are all fast-food style, but it seems to be less crowded (although there were days when it was busy) so you can relax there (although I didn't plan to stay long anyway). I ordered an "Iced Coffee" for 300 yen. Surprisingly, it was rich and well-made. It was good enough to drink black, which I didn't expect at all. I was a little surprised. (January 2009) I ordered a blend (hot) for 300 yen. It was pre-made. It can be drunk black, but the taste is slightly off and doesn't fall into the category of delicious.
