I felt like having TETSU tsukemen after a long time, so I went to this place in Okachimachi Ramen Yokocho. I ordered the vegetable tsukemen atsu-mori. I was surprised when I saw the tsukemen that came out! The atsu-mori here is supposed to come with hot bonito broth, but it came out in a regular bowl with warm noodles. The soup was decently good. However, the noodles were not that great... It was quite different from what I had when I lined up to eat at the now-closed Sendagi main store. Maybe the taste has declined since the founder sold the business. It's been a while, but it was tastier the last time I had it.

I had some business in Ueno on a weekday night, so on my way back, I felt like having tsukemen. Around 8 pm, I visited this place for the first time. Despite many popular ramen shops around, this place was not crowded, with only about 3-4 customers. I saw on the ticket machine that they had a rich miso tsukemen, but since it was my first time, I ordered the regular tsukemen for 900 yen. The noodles seemed to come in large, extra-large, and it was nice that you could get a free upgrade. After waiting for about 10 minutes, the tsukemen arrived. The broth had a good rich fish flavor that I really liked. The noodles were medium thickness and slightly chewy, which went well with the broth. It was a simple but exactly what I wanted in a rich tsukemen. And when the soup cooled down, they brought out a heated stone. Even though the noodles were not too watery, I ordered it just for the experience. They placed the heated stone on the ladle and put it in the soup, heating it up. The soup was bubbling, so I recommend wearing a paper apron if you order the heated stone. Thanks to that, I could enjoy the hot soup until the end. The staff was attentive and the service was great. I really enjoyed the taste, and I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

While it's just your average seafood, TETSU's dishes are reliable and have a universal appeal. I remember there being yuzu in it, but it turned out to be buried at the bottom. Tsujita uses sudachi, while this place uses yuzu. Both go well with tsukemen. This is just my personal opinion.

I suddenly had the urge to eat TETSU✨ and visited the restaurant✨ I was craving for rich and sweet soup with chewy thick noodles, so I ordered the tsukemen in regular size. I topped it off with Abura vegetables. The sweet and addictive taste of the Abura complemented the rich soup perfectly✨ The thick noodles absorbed the flavorful soup along with the generous amount of juicy vegetables, and the garlic balanced out the richness✨ Despite ordering a regular size, the volume of vegetables made me quite full✨ But since it's vegetables, I didn't feel guilty at all✨ I added fried green onions and special seven-spice blend to enhance the flavor✨ I finished every drop of the soup diluted by the vegetables' moisture✨ It was a delicious meal✨

I had a seasonal limited cold noodles. The restaurant was full so I waited about 15 minutes. I added extra toppings of back fat, garlic, and vegetables. I couldn't decide between mixed noodles and dipping noodles, but I chose the dipping noodles. With the additional vegetable toppings, it was full of ingredients and delicious. If you ask the staff, they will bring condiments like shichimi. Although I also crave the regular menu dipping noodles, the spicy noodles limited to summer have a taste that becomes addictive.

I had some business in Okachimachi, and since it was already evening, I decided to have dinner somewhere before heading back. I hadn't been to Okachimachi Ramen Yokocho in a while, so I chose to go there. When I arrived at 18:10, there was no line outside, so I went inside. There were not many customers inside, so I looked at the menu on the ticket machine and bought a ticket for "Spicy Hot Tsukemen, Regular Size, 1,050 yen." I sat at an empty counter seat and waited. The ordering system is such that when you order at the ticket machine, the order goes to the kitchen. At 18:19, the Spicy Hot Tsukemen, Regular Size arrived. On top of the noodles were pork shoulder chashu, menma, kaiware daikon, and shichimi. Inside the dipping sauce, there were naruto, chopped green onions, and more. I started eating. The hot temperature of TETSU's tsukemen is really delicious! The spiciness is just right and I like it. The noodles are medium thickness and go well with the dipping sauce. The pork shoulder chashu has a good meaty flavor and is delicious. The menma is also tasty. After finishing the noodles, I poured the soup from the pot into the remaining dipping sauce and enjoyed it. The hot soup blend was also great. And I finished my meal. Thank you for the delicious meal tonight.

I couldn't get into the restaurant I wanted to go for a late lunch because of the long line, so I ended up going to TETSU. It's been a while and the visual looks really appetizing. The noodles were cooked just right and the spiciness was delicious. I was happy with the variety of table seasonings. I got the special large size while my companion got the regular large size, but it didn't seem that different. I guess it's the same price anyway. I should have tried the limited edition noodles, a little regretful now. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Specialty Tsukemen for 1250 yen. Located under the guard of Okachimachi Station, just a minute away from the ticket gate. I arrived at the restaurant around 11 am on a weekday, and only about 30% of the seats were taken. It took less than 10 minutes for the Tsukemen to arrive, and I took a sip of the soup first. The soup was rich in seafood flavor, similar to other Tsukemen places, with a familiar taste. The noodles were thick and well-coated with the dipping sauce, providing a satisfying chewy texture and a strong wheat flavor. The seasoned egg topping was well-flavored but too firm, I would have preferred it to be more runny. The chashu was well-seasoned and fatty, but somehow felt lacking. Overall, it was an average Tsukemen experience, and honestly, the price of 1250 yen for the specialty dish felt a bit high. I think it would be more reasonable at around 1000 yen, so I hope they can improve either the price or the quality a bit more.

While taking a stroll in Ueno and Okachimachi, I got hungry and decided to try the tsukemen at this restaurant that caught my eye. It was a bit of an odd time (around 4:30 pm), so it was not crowded and I was seated right away. I bought a meal ticket, sat down, and in about 10 minutes, the tsukemen arrived! The noodles were chewy and they mixed well with the dipping sauce, which was very delicious. The dipping sauce had a rich flavor with depth. The chopped green onions did a great job too. I liked the taste of the dipping sauce so much that I ended up finishing it all by drinking it as soup at the end. Thank you for the meal.

Ramen is better than tsukemen in my opinion. Tsukemen tends to become soggy as you eat it, which I think is due to a structural flaw. However, TETU-san has overcome this issue with his hot noodles and grilled stones. Today, I had a large serving of ramen. Last time, I had tsukemen. Both were delicious.

I visited Tsukemen TETSU again! This time, I tried their Tsukemen Tamago and it was delicious! I've been getting into Tsukemen recently, so I've been stopping by Ramen Yokocho. I aim to try all the menu items, so I will continue to visit! If you ever come to Ueno, be sure to stop by!

I ordered the Ume Katsuobushi Tsukemen (seasonal limited edition)! The bottom of the noodle bowl is prepared with Ume sauce, allowing you to mix the noodles with it before dipping them in the broth. You can choose from different ways to eat it, which is great! The Ume sauce is not too sour, which I personally like. It's not the sweet and sour honey Ume type. The combination of Ume and Katsuobushi is excellent, and you can enjoy a high-quality Tsukemen at a reasonable price! Also, the fact that the noodles are not pre-cooked is a plus. Don't underestimate this chain restaurant, they serve delicious Tsukemen! Well done, TETSU!!

It was delicious, but the noodles were a bit soft and lacked firmness. I wondered if that's how the noodles are supposed to be. Overall, I enjoyed the tsukemen after a long time. I visited Ramen Yokocho in Ueno. I plan to try other shops in the future as well. I will also visit Tsukemen TETSU again!

Visited after 21:30. The restaurant was not crowded, with no line. I usually like tsukemen, but because it was chilly, I decided to try the ramen. I asked for the noodles to be firm. I was considering getting the tsukemen because they have yakimeshi, but my ramen arrived in just over 5 minutes. The noodles were medium-thin straight noodles with a good texture, not too slippery. The soup had a strong seafood flavor with a hint of pork or some other animal's richness, maybe from the oil. It seemed like a simple nostalgic dish, but it had a depth of flavor. The yuzu occasionally tickled my nose, making it quite delicious. There was no sourness or spiciness. The toppings included chashu, menma, nori, naruto, kaiware, and green onions. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't just a typical seafood-based ramen; it had a good balance of flavors from start to finish. There was fried green onions on the table, which I added for extra flavor, and I finished the bowl in no time. It was quite delicious.

This day is here! First visit to Tsukemen TETSU Okachimachi Ramen Yokocho store! Visit date: 2023.02.12 (Sun) Sunny 14°C On this day, after work, I decided to have ramen! I wanted to try a shop called Kazambo, but they had run out of their signature clear soup (they still had white soup though). I really wanted to try the clear soup ramen, so I said, "Well, I'll come back another time" and decided to recover from the disappointment. Despite it being February, it was 14°C, which was quite warm for winter, so I felt like having tsukemen! Tsukemen TETSU Okachimachi Ramen Yokocho store It was also a place I had never visited before, so I went there! It's a 2-3 minute walk from Okachimachi Station, and I arrived at the store. There were seats available inside! ~Entering the store~ I bought a meal ticket at the entrance! I ordered a regular size of "Ajitama Tsukemen" which comes with free options for extra noodles or toppings. I sat at the counter, placed my meal ticket, and got ready to eat. Water was self-service, and there were condiments like pepper, yuzu pepper, and fried green onions on the table. The staff seemed to be working efficiently. Looking around, there were about 5-6 customers in front and a group of 3 customers behind, so it was quite lively. ◆ Soon the dish arrived! I will now try the "Ajitama Tsukemen"!! ◉ <Dipping sauce> First, I checked the dipping sauce! Apart from the naruto and green onions that sank, the toppings were on the noodle side. I licked a bit of the sauce, and it had a rich umami flavor without any strange smell, with a good thickness and viscosity. It was delicious. ◉ <Noodles> I dipped the noodles into the sauce and mixed them well to let them absorb the flavors (this is important). The noodles were almost straight and thick, from Kanejin Foods! The surface was smooth, but the firmness was a bit weak. Among this type of noodles, I think these were on the softer side. However, since the dipping sauce had a strong umami flavor, I believe it would taste good with the noodles. ◉ <Toppings> The daikon radish sprouts had a mature flavor, the menma (bamboo shoots) were thick and short, with a mild crunchiness. The chashu was a large piece with a salty taste, cooked at a low temperature, and very tasty. The flavored egg was the most delicious topping! It was half-cooked and creamy with a strong flavor. ◉ <Flavor enhancement and soup dilution> I added fried green onions from the table in the middle of the meal! The crispy texture and the aroma of the green onions added a nice touch to the flavor. After the noodles disappeared in my stomach, I used the self-service soup dilution pod on my table! This was delicious! The remaining green onions and the fried green onions I added from the table were a great accent, making it really good. I finished it in no time! I thanked them for the meal and left the store. Wow, it was delicious! The noodles may not have been as good as the ones at the neighboring Aoba, but the rich dipping sauce was really good. Another happy day ❤️ Thank you for the meal ➤➤➤ The blog will be uploaded later!! https://uzic.blog.fc2.com/

I visited this place early in the afternoon on a regular day, after finishing a meeting nearby and wanting to grab a meal before it got crowded. I stumbled upon this place and had a hard time deciding whether to go in. I started getting into tsukemen about 20 years ago and used to visit the main shop a few times. I wonder if the main shop is still around? I ordered the Special Tsukemen for 1230 yen with free extra noodles. The thick noodles were chewy and had a nice texture. The dipping sauce was rich and flavorful, a classic Tetsu style, consistently delicious. However, the large slices of char siu were a bit tough and not that great, making it a bit of a struggle to eat. I didn't add the grilled stones and ended with a cold finish, which I enjoy in tsukemen for the flavor change with temperature. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, especially if I had not upgraded to the special version. Finished off the meal by enjoying the complimentary soup on the table.

Visited for the third time in a month. It was past 8:30 PM, and there were about 10 customers. Noticed that the menu had changed from seared chashu rice bowl with sea urchin soy sauce to simmered pork rice. Decided to try the new menu and purchased a special large serving (1230 yen) and simmered pork rice (390 yen) tickets. Accidentally bought a regular ticket again and had to change it to a large serving. The regular button is so big, I keep pressing it by mistake. First, the simmered pork rice arrived. It didn't have the thick slices of chashu like the previous bowl, so it felt a bit less flavorful. Tried it and thought the previous one was tastier. The special large serving arrived. Oh, the chashu is thinner now. TETSU used to be known for its thick chashu, but it seems like it has changed in the past two weeks. It's tasty, but I miss the thick chashu. Thank you for the meal.

I purchased a ticket for the limited spicy miso dipping noodles available in November. I was worried about the large portion, but ended up finishing it (laughs). I actually prefer the regular dipping sauce over the miso. You can choose from three levels of spiciness, and I chose the medium. It had a nice spicy kick to it.

It has been two weeks since my last visit. I arrived around 8:30 pm and there were about 5-6 customers. I wanted to try the Chashu rice bowl that I couldn't get last time because it was sold out, so this time I ordered the special hot dipping noodles with extra noodles (1230 yen) and the seared Chashu rice bowl with sea urchin soy sauce (390 yen). This time, I was able to purchase my meal without any issues. Last time, I had the special large serving of dipping noodles, but this time I opted for the rice bowl since it was available. The dipping noodles come in regular, large, and special sizes, all at the same price, so you can choose based on how hungry you are. First, the Chashu rice bowl arrived. It had thick slices of Chashu, green onions, and a raw egg yolk on top of the rice. I took a bite of the Chashu first, then mixed the egg yolk in to make it creamy. The hot dipping noodles were soaked in bonito broth, keeping the noodles warm throughout the meal, making it a great option especially outside of summer. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the only ramen shop on Ramen Street that I hadn't been to before. I ordered the tsukemen special size for 880 yen and added an egg with a service ticket. It's nice that the special size costs the same as regular! The interior of the shop has an L-shaped counter and surprisingly quite a few people inside. The space between seats is divided by menus on the left and right. The staff are efficient and likable. The noodles are thick, so it takes some time before they are served. When the dish arrived, it was truly a special size, overflowing with toppings. The dipping sauce is hot, and the noodles are rinsed with water. I slurp the noodles heartily. The flavor is rich with a well-studied taste that rivals others. There are no new discoveries, but it's something you can enjoy with peace of mind. The thick menma (bamboo shoots) has a crunchy texture that adds to the enjoyment. To break the monotony, I add fried green onions for a change in flavor. This is delicious and makes me eat faster. By the time I finish the noodles, the soup is also gone, so I'll have to try the soup-wari (diluting the soup with hot water) next time.
