During the state of emergency, the day before my workplace starts a 9-day summer vacation, I couldn't go out for drinks, which is usually a liberating night. But I really wanted to drink just for today (laughs). This solo yakiniku restaurant has been open for regular business since a while, but I never had the chance to step inside. Tonight, I had solo yakiniku for the first time. The interior is bright and quite clean. Each individual space is quite spacious, and this day it was empty with no one around. Ordering is done through a touch panel, which makes it really easy and nice. I immediately ordered a beer. The draft beer was Suntory's "TOKYO CRAFT," which was quite rare. The order was the "Ladies Yakiniku Bento Set" for 1,650 yen, which included Kalbi, Harami, Tan Shio, Roast, and Hormone, all in a two-tier bento box. Oh, it was much better than I expected - very satisfying. The salad, kimchi, and rice were all delicious. Considering the price, I was prepared to compromise a bit on the quality of the meat, but in the end, I was very pleased! (Of course, considering the price). It was nice to be able to grill the meat at my own pace. I enjoyed it slowly while having a few beers. This leisurely pace would be impossible if I were with someone else, and I would probably lose my temper (laughs). It was a very enjoyable time before the upcoming holiday. I would like to visit again.

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while based on the information, price range, and menu. I was hesitant about the long line, but when I arrived, it was empty except for one other group. I ordered a highball, a salted hormone platter, and two servings of 500g raw harami. When the food arrived, I was surprised to find that the 100g portion I ordered was actually less than the 50g portion listed on the menu for 390 yen. I checked the receipt multiple times, but it didn't change. I reluctantly ate the food, but the taste was mediocre. I expected it to be cheap, but the satisfaction level was much lower than expected, making it the most disappointing experience I've had recently.

5 kinds of assorted grilled meat for 1,738 yen. I visited with a friend around 6 pm on a holiday, and even though we made a reservation, the restaurant was quite empty. The interior was beautiful and the grilled meat in a bento box got us excited! We ordered a small portion of rice, which was just the right size for a woman to feel satisfied. The hormone meat was so tender and delicious! I heard that the lunch menu is even cheaper, so I will definitely be coming back again!

I visited around 3 p.m. on a holiday. It's quite a walk from the station, especially in the middle of summer. You order through a QR code and pay by scanning a barcode. As for the meat, I think the cost performance is not bad. The high-quality meat is a bit expensive, but the lunch and set menu are reasonably priced and delicious. I wish it was a bit closer to the station, then I would want to go more often.

I went to Marukin Shokudo in Shibuya!
Shop Name: Marukin Shokudo Shibuya Store
Nearest Station: Shibuya Station New South Exit
Tabelog Rating: 3.26☆
Marukin 5 kinds of assorted sashimi (1,738 yen)
All-you-can-drink for 1 hour for 550 yen
A popular restaurant for yakiniku even for solo diners!
There are counter seats in addition to tables.
It's nice to have set meals even at night.
I was surprised by how cheap the all-you-can-drink price was, haha.
The quality is high and I am very satisfied!
I wish there was one near my workplace too!

I visited during a late lunch time for the first time. The system is very similar to Like. Although the menu prominently features "salt hormone" in the shop name, salt hormone is not fully exposed, which feels a bit off. It's a little disappointing that you can't order it during lunch time.

This is the most reasonable 500 yen set for lunch. I ordered extra cholegi. The pork kalbi, which is well-seasoned and has no odor, is grilled wild and eaten with gusto with rice and kimchi, leaving me feeling full. Perhaps due to a shortage of eggs, there used to be a raw egg as an additional menu item, so I hope it will be revived.

Shibuya Station is a 7-minute walk away. The restaurant mainly has counter seats with acrylic dividers, making it easy for women to enjoy yakiniku alone. The menu I tried this time includes:
- Wagyu Beef Hamburg & Seared Yukke Set
The hamburg is cooked by yourself, best to cook for about 7-8 minutes on each side. Be careful as it tends to stick to the grill, so it's recommended to cook it slowly over low heat. The seared yukke is delicious when placed on rice with a raw egg yolk on top. I couldn't place the egg yolk properly this time, so I put it on top of the hamburg instead.
They purchase whole Japanese beef, ensuring high quality at a low price, providing great satisfaction. This place is perfect for solo yakiniku beginners! Definitely give it a try.

I found this place when I searched for a cheap all-you-can-drink option without a reservation. The restaurant is like a yakiniku style place. The meat was delicious and the drinks came quickly. It was a very good restaurant! Eating meat with cabbage was the best combination. It might be a good idea to wear clothes that can get smoky and smelly. Thank you for the meal.

Lunch is seriously good value! The restaurant is a bit far from the station, so there are hardly any people on the street or in the store, and it's not crowded even during lunchtime! You can enjoy yakiniku starting from the 800 yen range, and the menu in the photo is around 1500 yen for 200g, so it's really a great deal.

This is the best cost-performance ratio for yakiniku. For around 1500 yen, you can eat until you're full and even have yukhoe. The interior of the restaurant is calm, and the staff are all friendly, so I was able to relax and enjoy my meal. However, it was a bit disappointing that we weren't served water until we placed our order after being seated.

The speed of food and drink service was quite slow. There was no grill on the table for cooking the meat provided at each seat, the towels were running out, chopsticks were not provided, and even after mentioning it several times, the staff did not respond. It may have been a busy time, but the service was lacking.

I don't usually go to this type of restaurant, but I really wanted to eat meat and didn't have much time, so I reluctantly went in since it was nearby. We sat side by side at a table with individual grills, so we could each cook our meat with our choice of sauce or salt, which was convenient for us with limited time. The meat was a bit pricey considering the atmosphere of the restaurant, but the taste was decent and the price was fair. The rice was free for a large portion, and apparently free during lunch hours. The hormone meat was cheap, and when I added the extra negi-dare sauce, I couldn't stop eating the rice! For those who drink alcohol, this combination with beer is a must-try!

Yakiniku restaurant located around Namiki Bridge in Shibuya. The interior is set up for solo dining, with a Yakiniku-like atmosphere. I chose the Marukin Yakiniku Set with bamboo. Orders are placed by scanning a QR code with your phone. The set includes Marukin Kalbi, raw Harami, and Wagyu raw hamburger. It comes with rice, soup, and kimchi. The Wagyu hamburger comes with a truffle salt sauce with egg yolk. The Kalbi and Harami had good quality meat. The sauce was already flavorful, so I didn't need to use much of the table sauce. The Wagyu hamburger was a bit tricky to cook as it tended to stick to the grill, but once cooked well and mixed with the egg yolk, it was delicious!

Yakiniku set meal 150g for 935 yen paid with PayPay. I wanted the hamburger and half set but it was sold out. I wish they had written it outside. I asked for the LINE campaign hormone. It's a modern electronic panel ordering system, but for the campaign item, I had to ask verbally, and sadly they forgot. But being able to have yakiniku for under 1000 yen at a solo seat is great. I want to come back next time to try the hamburger.

Yakiniku Teishoku Kinnikuya Shibuya Namikibashi-ten
Let's power through work with Kinniku (lol)
As of July 7, 2022, the Tabelog rating is 3.22
Once again, the coronavirus is regaining momentum, signaling the arrival of the 7th wave. Well, in my case, I am quietly going about my daily life without going overboard. I make sure to disinfect my hands properly and avoid unnecessary outings as much as possible, working from home and not engaging in reckless behavior like those who go from one Tabelog restaurant to another every day.
However, with the recent increase in cases, especially in the music industry, infections are starting to appear around me as well. Most cases involve infections from children or entire families getting infected after social gatherings involving alcohol consumption. This shows that dining out still carries a certain level of risk.
So, for today's work meal in Tokyo, I decided to get a bento box on my way to Jingu-mae. I parked my car at a roadside coin parking lot on Meiji Street near Shibuya Police Station and went to a "solo yakiniku specialty shop" called Yakiniku Teishoku Kinnikuya Shibuya Namikibashi-ten. The shop is operated by a dining company called "Uruko Dining" that specializes in yakiniku and has been in business since 2006, focusing on Japanese beef. They have sister stores that offer high-end wagyu beef such as Matsusaka beef and Kobe beef.
The Shibuya Namikibashi location has a rating of 3.22. While there is another location listed as "Tatsumachi Mita Store" under the name Kinnikuya on their website, it seems to have changed its concept to "Tare Yakiniku, Shio Horumon. Marukin Shokudo 3.34." The theme is "Weekday Yakiniku," where you can enjoy yourself freely with a personal roaster at each table. This concept allows even women to enjoy the experience.
Unfortunately, this time I opted for takeout, so I can't provide a full review of the dining experience. However, it's clear that the pandemic is changing consumer habits, with the introduction of a takeout-only window leading to a steady stream of office workers and OLs getting takeout. The days when dining in was the main option are slowly being overturned!
The restaurant's features include:
- Achieving "high quality at low prices" through their "whole Japanese beef" concept
- Using domestic rice for the rice, with free refills available. The soup is made from beef bones for an authentic taste.
- Mainly counter seats with partitions and dedicated roasters at each seat
- Mobile order system and self-checkout available
- Can switch the rice in the set meal to Cholegi salad for those watching their sugar intake
The takeaway bento lineup includes:
1. Yakiniku Nori Bento (Pork Kalbi)

A solo yakiniku specialty restaurant that reminds you of a certain popular yakiniku chain. You can order and pay at the counter, making it easy for quiet people to enjoy yakiniku alone! They offer a variety of menus such as Korean-style, regular set meals, and premium series, but since it was my first time, I ordered the Kalbi and Harami set meal. It was less than 1000 yen excluding tax for 150 grams of meat, making it quite affordable and budget-friendly! The food comes out very quickly, so their operation is impressive. The quality of the meat is decent, but the sauce is delicious and goes well with rice. If you ever crave yakiniku, be sure to give this place a try.

Meat grilling restaurant located on Meiji Street, heading towards Ebisu. Christmas? Not relevant. Just a cold night after work, looking for a quick way to warm up (and get some calories). Using a QR code to place orders. I wonder how people without smartphones order. I ordered the Misuji & Young Kalbi set (200g) with small rice for 1298 yen. It was served in about 13 minutes. Despite being a solo grilling place, the wait was longer than expected and the smell was stronger than anticipated. The quality of the meat is similar to that of the nearby Like restaurant. Some pieces were a bit tough. The Misuji had a slight hint of gamey flavor. Self-checkout is fine, but the process from ordering to paying was not as fast as expected for a self-service restaurant. Personally, Like restaurant wins for me.

This is a one-person yakiniku restaurant located on Namiki Bridge. Orders are taken through a QR code, but I had trouble accessing it and ended up ordering verbally. I ordered the Kin Nikuya Gokumi Yakiniku Set, which includes kalbi, loin, and pork, and the prices are reasonable for each. However, in terms of taste, Liku, a competitor, offers significantly better quality (at a similar price point), and their ordering system through a touch panel is excellent. Honestly, if you're looking to eat yakiniku alone in this price range, you'd probably choose Liku. Plus, Liku also includes a salad. I hope they find a way to differentiate themselves in the future.

【Date】Visited on a weekday at 11:00 am as a party of one. Since it was right at opening time, I was able to enter without waiting, but there were constantly customers coming in despite it being a weekday.
【Location】About a 10-minute walk from Shibuya Station. Located along the street heading towards Ebisu.
【Interior】Only counter seating available.
【Order】
- Ginger Pork Set Meal
- All-You-Can-Eat Cabbage
Ginger pork is something that seems familiar yet unique at the same time! The fatty pork and refreshing ginger sauce paired really well. It goes great with white rice! The rice itself is also carefully selected, enhancing the overall deliciousness. You can choose the amount of meat and rice you want. The cabbage with the special dressing was addictively tasty, so I ended up paying the extra 200 yen for the all-you-can-eat option. Thank you for the meal!
【Service】The staff were efficient and friendly.
【Final Thoughts】The ginger sauce is a perfect match with the pork! I highly recommend the ginger pork set meal!

If you are interested in this article, don't forget to save it - and search for "Shibuya Namikibashi Kinnikuya"! The restaurant I want to introduce this time is the sister store of the shop in Dogenzaka where I was taken care of two years ago (I remember the fresh green peppers). A new product has been announced, so I visited for lunch. Yakiniku set meal at Kinnikuya Shibuya Namikibashi store. You can choose carefully selected meat cut by a professional. There are three types of sauces in bottles plus lemon sauce, which is nice because you can choose according to your preference. You can also change to unlimited cabbage for an additional ¥200. Enjoy it with the special dressing. I ordered the new 200g "Whey Pork (Italian)" pork ginger set meal. The kimchi that comes with the set meal has started to sour after fermenting for 3-4 days. It goes well with rice and serves as a substitute for pickles. The kimchi today has a good balance of sweetness and acidity, which I like. Kinnikuya pays attention to the way the meat is cut and presents it beautifully. Look at the balance of meat and marbling. The unique pink color of the pork meat and the fat shine. The pork cooks quickly on low heat because it has a lot of good quality fat. While admiring the scene of the fat dripping, quickly place the pork on top of the rice. Mini pork ginger rice bowl completed! I also ordered a ice-cold Coca-Cola. It gives a refreshing sensation to the mouth. The whole kitchen staff get along well, creating a great atmosphere. Boost your immune system with a yakiniku set meal made with Italian whey pork, plenty of ginger and garlic! The unlimited cabbage refill is also a charm of our shop, so you won't be disappointed even if you feel like you're lacking vegetables! This yakiniku restaurant is highly recommended!
