Two consecutive visits! Consistent deliciousness. I revisited because the lunch I had yesterday was so delicious. It was probably around 1280 yen for a lunch called "Fisherman's Meal". It consisted of sashimi, simmered fish, mozuku seaweed vinegar, seasoned seaweed, pickles, tofu topped with dried bonito flakes, rice, and miso soup. I asked for half portion of rice. Since it's a set meal, rice and miso soup are free for refills. Today's miso soup was seaweed. It was so delicious that I had a refill. I was very satisfied and gained energy for work.

Seafood is justice!! I ordered the 1000 yen staff seafood bowl. It came with pickles and miso soup, which you can refill for free. The seafood bowl was topped with bonito flakes and was delicious. The miso soup had plenty of fried tofu and green onions, and the broth was flavorful, so I had a refill. My companion ordered squid fry and minced cutlet, and the squid in the fry was almost 2cm thick and very tasty. It was quite a generous portion. The set meals come with free refills of rice and miso soup. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere reminiscent of a fishing town, which was very pleasant. It seems to have a connection with the Sado Fishermen's Cooperative, which explains the deliciousness.

I arrived after 3 pm, so I couldn't make it for lunch and ordered the fried chicken set from the dinner menu. It came with a crab stick salad, pickles, kimpira, and miso soup. It also had cabbage and potato salad on the side, with plenty of mayonnaise. The fried chicken was pretty good. It's a bit more expensive than the lunch menu.

I visited for lunch. This is a place where you can stop by when you feel like eating fish. Sometimes the service can be slow and you may have to wait, but on this day the food came out quickly. I had the simmered red snapper, which had a light and refreshing flavor. It was perfect for my mood that day, as I was in the mood for something subtly seasoned. Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunchtime drink. There are few places in Funabori where you can drink during the day. This place offers both lunch and daytime drinking. They specialize in tableside seafood barbecue, but it didn't really catch my interest. Today, I decided to go for some light dishes.
- No cover charge or table charge
- Octopus and cucumber salad for 480 yen
- Green onion topped chilled tofu for 400 yen
- Celery pickles for 390 yen
- Cucumber pickles for 390 yen
The portions were small, and except for the octopus, the ingredients seemed cheap so the prices felt a bit high. The taste was average. The Hoppy set for 580 yen was surprising. It came in a large mug with the shochu filled up to 6/10. I thought this was great. However, the additional 200 yen refill was only half the amount. Seems like the pour amount varies depending on the staff. The sake was also good. They prepared a masu (wooden box) on a plate and poured the sake right in front of you. I've never seen a three-tiered sake serving like this before. It spilled from the glass to the masu and even onto the plate! When you finished the glass of sake, they poured more from the masu, filling it up. And when you transferred from the plate to the glass, it filled up again. Perfect for someone like me who is particular about finishing every drop of sake.

For lunch, I revisited an izakaya I used to frequent before it changed to Osho Suisan. I used to go there about three times a week, but after it changed, I only went once. I heard they were serving lunch now, so I decided to come for lunch. I arrived a little after 12 pm and found that there were quite a few customers inside. I was seated at a table and looked at the menu, which had a variety of options. I decided to order the Sashimi Teishoku, which came with six different types of sashimi, two pieces each. The sashimi was delicious, especially the large piece of tuna. What stood out was that there was no smoke during lunch, so I was able to enjoy my meal without any discomfort. Thank you for the meal.

Visited a izakaya for lunch. The prices were relatively cheap. The place was bustling with people drinking during the day. Ordered the hearty fisherman's set. The actual meal was slightly different from the menu photo, but still satisfying. Had seconds of miso soup and rice.

Today is a day off. We all agreed that we want to eat fish for lunch, so we headed to "Daisho Suisan" in Funabori. The lunch menu is varied and it's fun to choose. I ordered the "DHA bowl" with sardines, horse mackerel, and tuna, while my companion ordered the "Assorted sashimi bowl" with various cuts of fish. The interior of the restaurant is decorated like a market with signs, lamps, and fisherman flags, creating a lively atmosphere. There is also a table with a stove where you can grill seafood directly over the fire, known as "hamayaki." Oh, our orders have arrived. The "DHA bowl" is topped with sardines, horse mackerel, and tuna. The "Assorted sashimi bowl" is overflowing with a variety of fresh fish cuts. We enjoyed a delicious and fun lunch. Thank you for the meal.

This place is located within a 5-minute walk from Funabori Station. I knew about it but never really went there before... I thought it was mainly for dinner... but they also serve lunch. During lunchtime, they mainly offer set meals. I decided to try the Fisherman's Lunch Set for 900 yen (limited to 5 servings) and ordered a lunch beer as well. Surprisingly, they still had the limited 5 servings available. The restaurant is quite spacious, and it seemed like most of the customers were taking a break from work. It wasn't too crowded. The sashimi had a familiar taste, nothing extraordinary, but still delicious. The simmered fish was tasty, with a gentle flavor that has soaked in nicely. The set meal included small dried fish tofu, pickles, miso soup with grated yam, seaweed salad, and other items that I don't usually eat, so I was happy with the variety. Japanese cuisine is great. Thank you for the meal.

I love fish, so I visited again. When I drink alcohol, I don't need rice, so I often order just fish. I wanted to eat sea urchin, so I ordered it without rice. It was also incredibly delicious! I ordered beer and hoppy for drinks and ate seafood until I was satisfied. I want to explore more restaurants with a lot of seafood.

Highly recommended if you love seafood. Visited with a friend who also loves fish. The appetizer was shishamo that you can grill yourself. They also had fresh oysters, which got me really excited as a oyster lover! In addition, they had tuna, salmon, salad, and other great menu options for fish lovers like me. So happy with the selection!

●Fresh seafood●Great place for daytime drinking●A bit above chain restaurants but below individual ones, let me introduce this place here today. When you feel like having a daytime drink in Funabori, there are not many options. Especially on days when you crave hearty seafood, the choices are limited in this area. This particular establishment in the area. The time was 2:30 PM on a Sunday. The location is next to a bookstore, go up the stairs to the second floor and you'll find this store, Yokkorasa. "Welcome! Please come in!" greeted with a loud voice, but the service is calm and exudes a mature atmosphere. The interior has a typical fisherman's tavern vibe with tables and a casual feel like a self-service hearth. Smoking is allowed, and it's okay to have a smoke while enjoying the hearth. The prices are generally reasonable. It's a good deal!

Today I went to the dentist for a regular check-up in Funabori. It's the same dentist I used to go to when I lived here over a decade ago, so it's convenient to reach by bike. Everything went well at the dentist, so now I'm thinking about what to have for lunch. I decided to take a stroll around the neighborhood on my bike. There are still many factories around, but more and more condominiums are being built every year. Some of the shops have changed, but I was in the mood for Japanese food, so I came to Daisho Suisan. I remember this place used to be a yakitori restaurant, but now it has a nice fish market atmosphere. I was seated in a tatami room, and I saw the luxurious sashimi set served in a bucket at the table next to me! Unfortunately, the limited "Gyosha no Hirumeshi Set" with both simmered dish and sashimi was sold out. So, I ordered the Fisherman's Lunch Set which includes both simmered dish and sashimi. I noticed there was an ashtray on the table, so smoking is allowed here. Well, it is more like an izakaya after all. The Fisherman's Lunch Set arrived, and it was quite luxurious. The sashimi included big slices of tuna, yellowtail, and salmon, while the simmered dish was soy sauce braised mackerel. The simmered dish was tender and delicious. The side dishes like seaweed, grated yam, and baby sardines were also satisfying and added to the value of the set. Despite a slight hiccup in service during lunchtime, overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the meal.

This is a casual izakaya located 2-3 minutes walk from Funabori Station. The interior is spacious and can accommodate large groups. They have a variety of seafood dishes, with a live fish tank in the restaurant. Each table is equipped with a set for grilling, suggesting that grilling is a main focus. We started with fresh oysters and then tried the grilled scallops. The seafood was on the smaller side, but considering the affordable prices, it was not an issue. The open layout of the restaurant can make it a bit noisy with other groups, but overall, it's a good place for affordable seafood dining. They are open late, making it a convenient option for enjoying seafood at a reasonable price.

I had lunch at this chain izakaya located on the 2nd floor of a building near Funabori Station. The interior of Oobako, which also offers tatami seating, has a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of a fish market izakaya. I chose the "Fisherman's Lunch Set" for 980 yen, which includes sashimi and simmered fish, with a little less rice. The square tray that was brought to me featured diced tuna, white fish, and octopus, along with simmered sea bream, seaweed, whitebait tofu, burdock salad, pickled Chinese cabbage, roasted seaweed, rice, fried seaweed, and miso soup with seaweed. It was a very luxurious spread! The tuna sashimi was fatty and delicious, while the white fish and octopus had a nice chewy texture. The simmered sea bream had a pleasant fish aroma, and the seaweed and whitebait tofu were also tasty. I left a little rice uneaten, but overall, it was a satisfying fish lunch. I thanked the staff and told them it was delicious.

I revisited Izakaya Daisho Suisan for dinner. I had the grilled fish set meal (1,150 yen) with salmon belly, which came with three pieces. I was happy to see that there were plenty of side dishes like salad, tuna, and pickles.

Lunchtime at Ooatsu Suisan. The daily special set meal for 950 yen includes a bowl topped with tuna and hokke sashimi, menchikatsu, and miso soup. The hokke sashimi was fresh and delicious. It was nice to have seaweed sprinkled on the rice.

I felt like having fried squid, so I thought of this place. It's not uncommon, but sometimes even if you see it on the menu, they might say they don't have it that day. But here, it's a regular lunch menu item and also on the grand menu. I saw a photo of the large squid fry with two pieces, so I decided to try it. It turns out each piece is 250g, and it was quite satisfying. The meal comes with unlimited rice and miso soup refills. The place was quite lively, with most people drinking alcohol. I also noticed a unique dish called "bukkake sushi overflow" on the menu and decided to try it. It wasn't bad at all. They also served grilled shishamo and tsukune at the table, which added to the experience. Overall, the lunch menu was extensive, with options like a large sashimi set and a fisherman's lunch set. Everything came with unlimited rice and miso soup refills. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the variety of dishes. Today, I had the bukkake sushi overflow, a large tokkuri of hot sake, and some appetizers, which came to a total of 3179 yen including tax.
