Lunch on December 30, 2022. I took the train to Fussa. In the afternoon, I have plans to attend a meetup in Nakagami, and there was a restaurant in Fussa that I've been curious about for some time. Unfortunately, the fried rice specialty shop I wanted to visit was closed for lunch hours. Feeling disappointed around 2 pm, I decided to try another restaurant, but many of them were closed. So, I ended up going to Manchuria, a gyoza restaurant. I ordered gyoza and beer as a light snack before meeting some friends in Akishima at 4 pm. The gyoza at Manchuria never disappoints, and it was delicious. After that, I killed some time before heading to Akishima. I never thought I would end up eating gyoza in Akishima too!

Fussa Station West Exit, right next to it is "Gyoza no Manchuria Fussa Nishiguchi Store." It's been about 4 years since I last worked in Akiruno. Every time I come here, I used to go to BECK'S, but it seems like they have closed down and turned into a soba restaurant, so I came here instead. - Fried rice and pan-fried dumplings ¥780 Gyoza no Manchuria never disappoints. Delicious, cheap, and fast. It's like this place was made for this restaurant. Thank you for the meal. I'll be back next week, haha.

I visited the restaurant because I was craving for a gyoza set. I was initially going to order the Chinese rice bowl, but the domestically sourced herb drooling chicken looked good so I decided to try it. It was delicious, just as I had imagined. I was curious about the meaning of "drooling," so I looked it up in the past. In Chinese, it is called "口水鶏" (Koushuidi), which is a cold dish where boiled chicken is served with a spicy sauce made of chili, Sichuan peppercorn, and chili oil. The "drooling" in drooling chicken refers to saliva, as the dish is so delicious that it makes your mouth water.

For dinner today, I went to "Gyoza no Manshu Fukusei Nishiguchi" for the first time in a while. I usually get their frozen dumplings to go, but it's been about 2 and a half years since I dined in. I noticed that they are taking strong measures for infection prevention, so I felt safe dining in. I sanitized my hands at the entrance and was seated. Even though I felt more comfortable eating at home, I really wanted to have a draft beer (*´艸｀*), so I decided to dine in! I ordered a medium draft beer (490 yen → 450 yen *special price for October) first. I'm usually satisfied with just the dumplings, but I got tempted by the limited-time offer for the Oirin Chicken Set (980 yen) for October. The draft beer arrived first and it was as delicious as always. Then the set arrived, and the dumplings were hot and juicy as I bit into them. They are cost-effective and I really like them. The Oirin Chicken arrived a bit later, and it was freshly fried and hot. It was made with domestic chicken breast and had a refreshing taste. I later realized that I forgot to order the pumpkin pudding as I looked back at the menu, which was a bummer (´；ω；｀). Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the meal. Payment can be made in cash, credit card, or various IC payments.

After a business meeting, my colleague and I went to "Gyoza no Manshu" for the first time. The restaurant is a chain, and although I knew the name, it was my first visit. The interior was quite spacious, and even though it was late afternoon, there were a fair number of customers. I ordered the fried pork with gyoza set with extra rice. The well-seasoned fried pork went well with the rice, and the gyoza had a generous filling, making it a good match with beer. The portion size was not cheap, but the large serving was satisfying and filling. The Chinese soup was delicious, and although it may not be too elaborate, it was sufficient. The menu was extensive, and there were many other tempting options. I recommend the large serving for those who want to eat until they are full.

I have visited "Gyoza no Manshu" at Seijaku Sakuragaoka Station and several other locations multiple times, and I always feel safe going in without any disappointments. I usually find myself thinking, "Maybe I should try a different menu today," but end up going for the overwhelmingly cost-effective double gyoza set meal. This time, however, I tried the fried rice and gyoza (¥660 excluding tax). Since it was a time past the lunch rush, the restaurant was not crowded. The staff's service was subtly friendly and appropriate, which I appreciated. The food was served promptly. As always, the gyoza was perfectly cooked. The taste was consistently delicious. The balance between the filling and the skin of the gyoza at Gyoza no Manshu is exquisite. Although the fried rice seemed a bit less than I had imagined, it had a somewhat understated flavor. It might feel a bit lacking when eaten on its own, but as an accompaniment to the gyoza, it felt just right. Fried rice and gyoza, this combination is truly a solid golden duo. It's great that you can enjoy this for 660 yen plus tax.

※This is a log of a visit in March. Currently, the business hours have been shortened, with closing at 8:00 PM and last order at 7:30 PM (as of May 8, 2020). For dinner today, I went to "Gyoza no Manshu Fussa Nishiguchi" located in front of Fussa Station. As soon as I entered, there was alcohol disinfectant available for use, encouraging customers to disinfect before entering. This kind of service is much appreciated, especially during this time. I ordered a draft beer (440 yen tax included) and fried rice with gyoza + extra serving (726 yen + 110 yen tax included). First, the draft beer arrived. In March, there was a 20 yen discount (*´艸｀). The draft Premium Malts beer was delicious! The gyoza from the set arrived, so I snacked on those while sipping my beer (*´з`). The gyoza here is cost-effective and easy to eat due to their size, so I couldn't stop eating them. While enjoying that, the fried rice with gyoza extra serving arrived. It had a good portion size and the flavor was satisfying. I also took a photo of the liver kimura ramen and liver with garlic chives stir-fry that my companion ordered, and snacked on liver with garlic chives while enjoying my beer. I noticed that the restaurant had become cashless, even though it used to be cash-only. In addition to cash, they now accept various credit cards and IC payments. I paid with iD. I wandered around Fussa Station looking for a place to have lunch. I thought there would be more options in front of the station, but the only place that seemed to serve lunch was this restaurant. At first, I thought it was a takeout dumpling shop, but it turned out to be a dining establishment. After requesting a table for one several times, I was finally seated at the counter. They had set meals, but I decided to go with the "dumplings and fried rice set" as the restaurant's name is "dumplings." However, both the dumplings and fried rice were not particularly delicious. I thought I ordered a large portion of fried rice, but it turned out to be a regular size when I checked the receipt. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was somewhat messy and not very conducive to a relaxing meal. It seems to be a chain restaurant from the northern part of Tokyo or Saitama. If there are other options available next time, I would prefer to try those instead.
