The "Ichigoan" is probably a renovation or expansion of a corner of the Akihabara store of "Kanda Daruma" operated by Roots Co., Ltd. I pass by the store frequently, but this was my first purchase. The strawberry daifuku costs 270 yen (tax included). I thought the quality of the strawberry would be the key, but the strawberries here are on the smaller side. I didn't have high expectations (laughs), but when I tried it, I was pleasantly surprised. The strawberries are not incredibly delicious, more on the mild side without being sour. The red bean paste complements the strawberries well, enhancing the overall flavor. The soft texture of the skin is also good. It's like the red bean paste in a taiyaki. That's what makes it delicious! It's cheap and tasty, so I thought it was good. Thank you for the meal.

I stumbled upon a specialty shop for strawberry daifuku a little away from Akihabara Station. There was a taiyaki shop right next to it... I'm not sure if they are related. Anyway, they had various strawberry daifuku available, with the recommended one being red bean paste with matcha, but I ordered the one with condensed milk. Most of the strawberry daifuku were priced at 250 yen excluding tax. The condensed milk one had condensed milk mixed into the white bean paste, giving it a slightly sweet taste. The sweetness lingers a bit. The mochi dough was chewy. The sweet and sourness of the strawberry was nice. In the end, the presence and taste of the strawberry stood out the most.

"We were able to sell a variety of Japanese strawberry daifuku throughout the year by receiving delicious strawberries from a strawberry farm in Hokkaido even in the summer. I was curious about how strawberry daifuku in this season would taste, as autumn is known for delicious grapes, pears, persimmons, and chestnuts. I visited a small take-out shop that is apparently related to Taiyaki Kanda Daruma. The shop had a selection of cute-sized strawberry daifuku displayed, so it was easy to spot. At the time of my visit, they had several varieties available such as red bean paste, whole bean paste, and matcha bean. The daifuku consisted of cut mochi with a strawberry sandwiched in between, with the filling and strawberry visible from the outside. I tried both the basic version and a seasonal limited edition that looked like chocolate-covered strawberry daifuku that I happened to find that day. ● Red bean paste 250 yen + tax ● Seasonal limited edition 278 yen + tax I forgot the name of the seasonal limited edition daifuku, but it was dusted with cocoa powder on the outside. It seemed to have cream inside. It was very soft and when held, it deformed slowly. It lacked the elasticity usually associated with daifuku and was incredibly soft. It almost felt like slime slipping through my fingers (laughs). When eaten, it tasted like tiramisu! Was it mascarpone cheese? Or maybe whipped cream? The sweetness was light and refreshing. I was surprised by the sweetness of the cut strawberries. To be able to enjoy such sweet strawberries in this season was unexpected. The mochi and strawberry daifuku with red bean paste were equally soft. I actually put them in the refrigerator because it was a hot day. I thought the mochi would harden, but it didn't! It deformed easily when touched. The sweetness of the red bean paste was pleasantly mild. It was just right with the sweet strawberries. The small size that allows you to try various varieties at once was also nice. While it's great to be able to enjoy strawberry daifuku all year round, it might diminish the appreciation for it. There's a certain value in seasonal limited editions. It makes you appreciate the changing seasons through food in Japan. Sometimes, having everything available all year round isn't necessarily a good thing."

There is a shop located at the corner when you turn right at the intersection of Soto-Kanda 5-chome, coming out from exit 4 of Tokyo Metro Ginza Line Suehirocho Station. This shop specializes in strawberry daifuku and offers take-out only. I purchased all six varieties of strawberry daifuku they had available. The yellow-skinned condensed milk bean paste doesn't have a strong condensed milk flavor. When paired with strawberry, the matcha bean paste seems to lose its matcha taste, but if eaten alone, the matcha flavor is more prominent. The seasonal raspberry mille-feuille has a unique crunchy texture with its light peach-colored skin. The filling is more like a cream than bean paste, maintaining a good balance of sweetness and acidity. It gives more of a Japanese-style Western confectionery impression rather than a traditional daifuku.

I happened to come across this shop on my way home, which was featured in the Asahi Shimbun and NHK Asaichi. It seems that even NHK and V6 personalities have visited this shop. I bought the limited edition Whipped White Chocolate, the shop-recommended condensed milk, and red bean paste. My favorite was the condensed milk - the white bean paste and condensed milk had an elegant sweetness. The texture of the Whipped White Chocolate could be improved by increasing the amount of solid ingredients. But it's a shame that it's only available for a limited time, as I would definitely want to buy it again. The red bean paste was okay. On that day, they were using strawberries from Kagawa Prefecture, but it seemed a bit watery. I heard that the type of strawberries changes weekly, so I might find a better match on another day. The dough was fluffy and soft, very delicious. Overall, it's cute, reasonably priced, and conveniently located just a minute walk from the station. The female staff were polite and helpful in answering questions. It doesn't lose its shape when taken home, so it's recommended as a snack with hot green tea in the evening. I've been feeling tired of writing long posts lately, so I'm trying to keep it short to extend my enjoyment of posting on Tabelog. It seems like my posts are getting shorter and focusing more on photos! Dangerous! I'll try my best to aim for shorter posts to prolong my Tabelog life.

Next to the taiyaki shop, I discovered a variety of colorful daifuku. The menu includes strawberry daifuku, matcha strawberry daifuku, and condensed milk strawberry daifuku. I couldn't decide which one to get, so I ended up choosing one each of matcha and condensed milk. They were each 270 yen. The mochi had a slight chewiness and was soft, and the cream inside was moderately sweet with a high sweetness level of the strawberries. Sometimes you come across daifuku that are either too sweet or too sour with strawberries, but here both were nicely balanced with a higher sweetness level. They can last until the next day, as they use preservatives. If they didn't use them, the daifuku would be delicious when freshly made but would harden after about three hours, making them unsuitable as souvenirs. Therefore, I think these would be greatly appreciated as gifts when brought to a workplace with many women. Thank you for the meal! (^○^)✨

I had dinner at Equateur, so I bought some souvenirs from this small store. The sign that caught my eye said it specializes in strawberry daifuku. Aside from the souvenirs, I also bought one for eating on the go. The daifuku is thick with a strong mochi texture. They pay attention to the strawberries and it's quite delicious!

Located just a short walk from the 4th exit of Suehirocho Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, this shop on the corner of a intersection specializes in strawberry daifuku, which they started selling in 2018. Following the success of their limited-time offering at the adjacent "Taiyaki Kanda Daruma Akihabara Store," they decided to open a dedicated shop. They use five different types of domestically grown strawberries, changing them seasonally to offer a variety throughout the year. The menu includes five types: "anko with whole beans," "smooth red bean paste," "condensed milk red bean paste," "matcha red bean paste," and "red bean paste with cream." I purchased the "anko with whole beans" and "condensed milk red bean paste." The chewy texture of the mochi, combined with the juicy strawberries and condensed milk red bean paste, was a perfect match. The fact that you can enjoy them all year round is a big plus.

I'm happy that I can still enjoy such delicious strawberry daifuku at this time of year. I'm even happier that I can choose between small red bean paste and whole bean paste. They are small in size, and my children finished them in just two bites! Next time, I will buy some taiyaki.

- A specialty store for delicious strawberry daifuku all year round. The day I ate ramen alone. At times like this, a little souvenir to keep me in a good mood. "Kanda Daruma" taiyaki produces strawberry daifuku. It's just right for a budget-friendly trial. I usually look for new convenience store sweets, but this one seems promising. Hmm, what should I choose? There are quite a few options. I seem to understand preferences lately. I'm aiming for matcha and whole bean. I dislike smooth bean paste. I seem to like whole bean skin. A taste experiment that might not taste good. I quickly rush home so they don't get squished. I'm back! Today I brought strawberry daifuku. - Matcha Bean: The smooth bean paste is soft, and the mochi dough is fragrant. The matcha bean has a pleasant aroma and flavor, with the added sweetness of strawberries making it elegant and delicious. - Whole Bean: Today's strawberries are so vibrant! The pink mochi with black bean paste and bright red strawberries looks beautiful. The mochi dough might not contain strawberries, but it gives off a hint of strawberry flavor. The aroma is outstanding, and the whole bean paste is delicious. The sweetness and tartness of the strawberries complement the bean paste well. Unlike many strawberry daifuku, this one has a well-balanced harmony. It's slightly smaller than traditional ones, making it a convenient snack size. It stayed soft even the next day, thanks to the mochi flour. It's a crispy and easy snack, although it may seem a bit pricey. It seems to be quite popular. I remember seeing smiles of satisfaction.

A strawberry daifuku specialty shop where you can enjoy various variations. Takeout only. Half of the whole is strawberry, but it looks cute and uses delicious strawberries, so you can safely take it as a souvenir. Since they are small, you can enjoy several flavors, and they are also appreciated by women. I bought them as souvenirs for company staff this time.
