Recently, the Peninsula Hotel no longer offers eat-in options, so I realized that this small space in the basement of Shinjuku Isetan has become the only eat-in option for the Peninsula. You can only order cake as part of a set with a drink. The cake set costs 1350 yen. I was able to enjoy my favorite mango pudding after a long time. It's similar to the take-out format. It's not quite the same as eating at the hotel, but it's still delicious, so no complaints. I hope the Peninsula Hotel will bring back eat-in options soon, and I wish the mango pudding would return to its old style.

It's almost mooncake season, and the eat-in area here was closed during the pandemic. The mooncake set includes mooncake-shaped cakes and mini mooncakes with a drink. When I expressed my preference for mooncakes over cakes, they showed me a tablet with mooncake tasting sets. There are two options, both half-size with a drink: lotus seed-filled, standard, and mango with passion fruit or strawberry for 1980 yen, and toffee-filled chocolate, standard, and mango with passion fruit or strawberry for 2200 yen. I chose the chocolate one, which I believe is new this year. The drink was 1866 High Grown Tea, an original tea from the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong, served in a pot with a unique flavor that is easy to drink. The half-size mooncakes were all about 5 cm in diameter and 2 cm high, slightly warmed. I had three flavors and decided to start with mango and passion fruit, followed by standard and then chocolate. The mango and passion fruit had a refreshing taste, while the standard had a unique taste with a hint of duck egg custard. The chocolate had a subtle toffee flavor in the center. Overall, the mooncakes were enjoyable, and the mini mooncakes were a good value with the drink included. The standard mini mooncakes were better at Hey-Fun Palace for a fresher taste. The mooncakes are usually for gifting, but this year they offered standard mini mooncakes for individual purchase, which was a nice option for home consumption. They also have a set with mandarin orange mooncake-shaped cakes. The shelf life is about one month, and they can be enjoyed by warming them for about 12 seconds at home. There are various gift sets available at the special section on B1, all beautifully packaged. The staff members were friendly and had lovely smiles. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Revisited a French patisserie participating in Patisserie Week. This year's theme is the eclair. The shop had limited options besides their signature mango pudding, and by midday, there was only one eclair left. It's recommended to visit early if you have a specific item in mind, as additional items may not be added. The Tropical Eclair was filled with passion fruit, banana, and mango flavors, creating a tropical taste. The choux pastry was filled with mango custard, passion fruit and banana cream, and a white chocolate sheet, offering a variety of textures. Topped with fresh mango and crispy shortbread, the eclair was visually appealing and delicious. The Almond Tofu Peach eclair had a smooth texture with almond tofu, peach compote, and a peach-flavored jelly and sauce. Despite the high price, both eclairs were tasty and well-crafted.

Cappuccino at Hot Peninsula in the evening Isetan was calm and nice. When I visited around 3:30 pm, about half of the cake varieties were sold out. They had a wide variety of teas, and I was able to relax and enjoy my time there.

The Peninsula boutique at Isetan is a small but nice shop with polite service. I found the rabbit cake in the showcase cute and when I asked what flavor it was, I received a detailed explanation. However, I was in a different mood that day so I ended up buying my favorite brioche. Since it was April, there was a cherry blossom flavor available. I also bought the classic chocolate, custard, and brioche, totaling 1330 yen including tax. Looking at the receipt, the classic was 389 yen and the cherry blossom was 454 yen (excluding tax). Peninsula Boutique used to feel like cakes from foreign hotels a few years ago, but in recent years, they seem to have focused more on appearance with cakes that stand out. Unfortunately, my favorite creme caramel has been discontinued. The taste of the brioche has also changed a bit from before, which is a bit disappointing. However, the lineup of cakes other than the classics changes with the seasons, so it's always exciting to come across cute cakes like the cherry blossom and rabbit ones this time.

In the food area of Isetan Shinjuku, there is a unique shop where you can enjoy cakes sold in showcases on the spot! It caught my attention because there are not many eat-in options, and upon closer inspection, it turned out to be Peninsula! The cakes, with beautiful visuals matching their price, were delicious. Despite being in Isetan's food area, it felt like I had a meaningful time enjoying an eat-in cake.笑

I went to Peninsula Boutique at Isetan, which was extremely crowded before White Day. It was as busy as during the year-end or Christmas, making it hard to move around. The store was a bit difficult to find, located near Fortnum & Mason with an eat-in area. The selection of items was limited, and some were already sold out by 2:30 pm, so it's recommended to visit earlier. I tried three types of brioche - custard, chocolate, and strawberry daifuku. The brioche was thin with a creamy filling, similar to choux cream. The size was palm-sized and easy to eat. The shortcake was disappointing with a strange-tasting cream. The strawberry and happiness milk pudding with coconut sauce was delicious. The mango pudding was exceptional, almost like a drinkable dessert. Overall, Peninsula is known for its mango pudding, and I would definitely go back for it. The review also touched upon the importance of observing a moment of silence for the victims of the 3/11 disaster.

Shinjuku, Tokyo - The Peninsula Boutique & Cafe at Isetan Shinjuku. It had been a while since I last visited, and this time the showcase was filled with things I hadn't tried before (*≧艸≦). There was a dessert that looked like tiramisu, and it turned out to be tiramisu haha. I'm curious about the other items too! Tiramisu for 871 yen, Strawberry Shortcake for 871 yen.

I bought grapefruit jelly and forgot about it. I had left it in the fridge the day before my day off to enjoy as a treat at work, so it's super cold. I peeled off the lid and tasted the rich yet refreshing pink grapefruit-based jelly. It could have been heavy, but it turned out light and airy. There are chunks of grapefruit in it, and it's just so delicious. This is the ideal jelly I wanted to eat. It's pricey, but I want to eat it by the bucketful. I can't eat it like that at the Peninsula though.

I found this place in Shinjuku Isetan on Instagram. In the eat-in space, you can enjoy not only cakes but also Assiette Dessert and Afternoon Tea. You select the menu from a tablet like at Hermes. I tried the Watermelon & Melon that I was interested in on the website. It consists of chocolate made to look like watermelon, hollowed-out watermelon and melon. The watermelon looks more realistic than I saw on the website. Inside, there is almond panna cotta and raspberry jelly. Despite the strong elements like chocolate and panna cotta being the main focus, so the fresh fruit sensation is a bit weak, it was impressive and good among the Assiette I've had recently. If there is something else that catches my eye, I will try it next time. Thank you for the meal.

I didn't notice it before because it's tucked away in the back of Shinjuku Isetan. You can eat at the store, but I'll take it to go. I bought my favorite mango pudding and mille-feuille. The mango pudding is soft and you can really taste the mango, it's delicious. The mille-feuille is crispy, not too sweet, and tasty. They have mango pudding all year round, and they also sell XO sauce from Hong Kong. I also bought some chocolate later, and it was delicious too. My personal chocolate ranking is 1. Fifth Avenue Chocolatier in NY, 2. Peninsula Hong Kong's chocolate, 3. Raffles Hotel chocolate in Singapore.

Today, I had a relaxing tea time during my free time at The Peninsula Boutique & Cafe in Isetan Shinjuku. I enjoyed a strawberry shortcake and another surprise treat that I thought was a cup, but turned out to be edible as well! Both were delicious. I also received some chocolate today. The hazelnut chocolate was rich and had a great aroma!

Even though it's a B1 level store, you can enjoy the famous Peninsula mango pudding right there. And the mango mango cake my partner ordered was perfect, with a unique and delicious taste! Not to mention, the cake set already offers great value, but they even included a sample of delicious chocolate, which was truly impressive.

Peninsula's mango pudding often ranks high in the souvenir rankings, but the mango pudding in this glass container is significantly more delicious than the usual plastic packaged one. When it comes to mango, Peninsula is highly trusted, so I was very much looking forward to it. The taste did not disappoint, with a stable finish as expected. The mango on top was rich and truly tropical, without any bitterness or astringency, making me want to eat it forever. As I continued to eat, there was a hint of coconut or milk, adding a refreshing, smooth, and fruity balance that was truly delicious.

When it comes to mango pudding, I used to always prefer the mango pudding from Togen Asa, but after trying the mango pudding from Peninsula, I discovered a different kind of deliciousness and now they are both my top favorites. Togen Asa's mango pudding is firm and I like to pour milk over it right before eating, while Peninsula's mango pudding has a super smooth and creamy texture, with fresh and delicious mango on top (they use the best ripe mangoes selected from various regions and cut them into dice for topping) and coconut sauce at the bottom, rich yet light in aftertaste, truly exquisite. Moreover, you can purchase it at the Shinjuku Isetan store without having to go all the way to Peninsula Hotel in Hibiya, which is very convenient. Also, Peninsula's packaging for takeout is luxurious and elegant, making their mango pudding and cakes perfect for gifts or treats. Additionally, the store has a small counter where you can enjoy desserts or cute afternoon tea sets, making it a nice place to stop by after shopping at Shinjuku Isetan. I might come back next time to try their afternoon tea set.
