Ebisu Station is just a 1.2-minute walk away from this restaurant located on the 3rd floor of a nearby building, offering a charming and sophisticated atmosphere. The interior is chic and calm, with traditional Japanese private rooms perfect for adult dates or business entertaining. Moreover, as a crab specialty restaurant run by a Michelin-starred group, expectations are high. As soon as you enter, you'll see a crab tank, which adds to the excitement. Once seated in a private room, I chose Inedit craft beer, a premium creation by the famous El Bulli. The drink selection is extensive, and the choices show great taste. The first course included simmered octopus, pumpkin, and mushroom. This was followed by a platter of snow crab with plenty of crab claws and meat, offering a substantial portion. The crab miso, vinegar with citrus, two-cup vinegar, and purple shiso provided various delightful flavors. The sparkling sake Nana Ken Yamanokasumi SPK was light and fruity, perfect for continuous enjoyment. The sashimi for the day comprised fatty tuna, flounder, and snow crab. The tuna had slight sinew, the flounder was well-aged, and the snow crab was delightfully chewy. The deep-fried yellowtail amberjack and snow crab had a slightly strong flavor, making it a great accompaniment to drinks. The Fukui Sari Go Wari Morohaku Junmai Daiginjo sake was served with a steamed egg custard with winter melon and plenty of crab meat, offering a gentle flavor. The Isosan Aoharu Junmai Ginjo sake was enjoyed with a crab and salmon roe mixed rice dish. The chef mixed it skillfully in front of us, combining the crab umami, salmon roe saltiness, and abundant shredded omelet in perfect harmony. Some sesame seeds, seaweed, and shiso leaves as condiments would have been a nice addition for flavor variation. For dessert, we had poached pears and Shine Muscat orange mousse. At 9,800 yen, this crab-themed course was satisfying in both quantity and quality. While crab specialty restaurants are often associated with major chains, this hidden gem strikes a perfect balance in terms of ambiance, service, taste, and value. It's a recommended spot for when you're in the mood for crab. Thank you for the feast.
