Located a 3-minute walk from Funabori Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line, "Renge Shokudo Toshu Funabori Store" is a restaurant on the 1st floor of a building. My friend and I visited in mid-April. This restaurant is run by Kitchen Origin, known for their bento boxes and deli items, and specializes in Chinese cuisine. The meaning of the alphabet "Toshu" is said to be the management philosophy of "Tokyo's most outstanding". The interior has a total of 48 seats, including counter seats and table seats. We sat at a 4-person table. Orders are placed using a touch panel tablet. On this day, we ordered "draft beer" (320 yen), "gyoza (6 pieces)" (260 yen), "edamame" (100 yen), and "baribari cabbage" (150 yen). The dishes were served by a serving robot, which was quite cute and efficient. The gyoza was delicious and went well with the beer! We also had a couple of drinks like oolong highball and highball (each 290 yen) before settling the bill for the day. Thank you for the meal.

I have been coming here so many times that I've lost count. I've tried various dishes, but I think this one is my favorite - I love the texture of the wood ear mushrooms. The dish is called Stir-Fried Egg with Wood Ear Mushrooms, but it also has a good amount of meat in it and it's really delicious. I come here about once a week (lol).

Operated by Origin Tohshu Co., Ltd., a part of the AEON group, the restaurant offers a bright and clean interior with ordering done through a touch panel system. I ordered the large Meat W Mix Fried Rice with a side of gyoza. The fried rice had a nice texture with pork belly meat mixed in. The Wakame soup had a flavorful salty taste. The gyoza used garlic from Aomori Prefecture, known as "White Six-Piece," with a crispy exterior and a juicy filling packed with cabbage, giving it a crunchy texture.

I had a fried chicken set meal. It took a bit of time because they fry it on the spot, but you get to enjoy freshly fried chicken. The outside is crispy while the inside is juicy, just the way I like it. It would have been perfect if the seasoning was a bit spicier. For 4 pieces of fried chicken with soup and pickles included for 682 yen, I think it's a good deal.

This is my second visit. Last time, I tried the recommended set menu, so this time I ordered the pork grilled rice bowl that caught my eye on the menu. I changed the soup that comes with the bowl to a Nimiramen for an additional 120 yen. The total including tax was 737 yen. The pork grilled rice bowl looked simple, but it was delicious. It contained pork belly, onions, and green onions, but the sauce was excellent. The ingredients are easy to find at home, but that sauce cannot be replicated. The pork grilled rice bowl was tasty, so I would like to try a different dish next time.

I visited this restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. The inside of the shop was bright and the atmosphere was not bad. There were many menu options, but this time I tried the recommended Toshu set (fried rice, half ramen, gyoza). The taste was okay, nothing particularly special, but I think the cost performance is good at 858 yen including tax for this volume. Unfortunately, many shops were closed for summer vacation or preparing for dinner, so I decided to try a chain Chinese restaurant that I had never been to before. I was pleasantly surprised that they were open at this time. The soy sauce ramen was only ¥390, which was a great deal! I decided to order miso ramen and fried rice separately. The miso ramen had a delicious flavor, with the vegetables being stir-fried before serving, making it hot and fragrant. The fried rice was slightly light in flavor but had a great aroma and was nice and fluffy. I added some pepper to enhance the taste. The fried rice was ¥420 and the miso ramen was ¥550, excluding tax. The portion size was generous and the dishes were well-cooked, making it a great value for the price. Additionally, I received a ¥50 discount coupon at the time of payment. The food was so delicious that I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again!

The interior has mostly counter seating. Music is playing. I ordered the Lunch Set W, which includes gyoza and fried chicken, for 650 yen (excluding tax). The positive points were that the service was friendly and the prices were cheap. The gyoza had a good balance of meat and vegetables, but the meat stood out more. The rice was slightly firm and shiny. The fried chicken was crispy and slightly juicy. The negatives were that although the service was friendly, you could hear a lot of chatter from the kitchen. The soup was quite salty. The gyoza lacked a crispy texture to the skin. The fried chicken was crispy but slightly greasy. Thank you for the meal.

This place is located just a short walk from Funabori Station. Renge Shokudo. I've been to the one in Nishiojima, but... there's one in Funabori too. Is this the Renge Shokudo I've heard of before? I went to check it out. The interior of the restaurant is divided by clear partitions, and they have good COVID-19 measures in place. I ordered a set of gyoza for 180 yen (2 pieces), karaage for 180 yen, and a Hoppy set for 350 yen with an extra Nakami for 150 yen. It's great that you can casually drink here from lunchtime. The gyoza, karaage, and Hoppy were all really good. The best thing about this place is that it's cheap and easy to visit, and they have my favorite Hoppy available. I'm not sure if this is available at other Renge Shokudo locations, but the food here is cheap and perfect for snacking. I will definitely go back.

Ren-ge Shokudo Toshu Funabori branch. I entered around 7 pm at night! Started with a beer! And ordered the spicy bean sprouts. Immediately ordered a half ramen and gyoza set. The beer and spicy bean sprouts arrived in 1 minute! Then, the half ramen set arrived in about 5 minutes! Fast! The taste of the spicy bean sprouts goes well with the beer. I couldn't resist and ordered a lemon sour. The ramen was okay, nothing special. The gyoza was a bit undercooked, but still acceptable. In total, it was around 1200 yen, so I think it was quite a good deal. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited during lunchtime on a holiday, and it was surprisingly busy. I ordered the vegetable-packed soup, which is carb-free and perfect for my low-carb diet. The soup had a lot of vegetables and a small amount of noodles, which was very satisfying. It's a great way to get in my daily dose of veggies, and the price was reasonable. Highly recommended.

I decided to try having a set meal outside for the first time in Funabori. It looks like a Chinese chain restaurant from the Origin series. There are plenty of counter seats with partitions, making it easy for even one person to come. This is convenient. The Night Special (excluding tax) W Meat Meat (Two Meat) set meal is 880 yen with gyoza (extra 170 yen). It includes chicken karaage, pork yakiniku, rice (with free extra-large serving), soup, and pickles, totaling 1155 yen including tax. Pork yakiniku! The rice goes well with it! Yummy! And then chase it with chicken karaage! Dip it in mayonnaise! So delicious! The rice just keeps coming! I'm glad I got the extra-large serving! It's a bit disappointing that there's a little less cabbage, but overall, I'm very satisfied! Of course, the gyoza goes well with the rice too! The gyoza has a strong flavor, so it goes well with vinegar and chili pepper. It cost over 1000 yen, but I got to eat white rice! That's how I felt. This was also good. Thank you for the meal~

The lunch spot I chose near Funabori Station is a Chinese restaurant chain. It used to be "Chuka Tosho" under the same management, but it was renovated into this casual Chinese restaurant without me noticing. The interior has many counter seats with a casual and bright atmosphere, following the chain's concept. I had the "A set 510 yen (excluding tax 550 yen)" which includes soy sauce ramen and dumplings. It is 30 yen cheaper including tax than ordering them separately. The soy sauce ramen comes with thinly sliced but flavorful pork chashu, menma, spinach, and chopped green onions. The noodles are thin and have a slippery texture, and the soup is light in flavor. The dumplings have a chewy skin and a sweet vegetable filling. While the ramen doesn't have any outstanding features, the dumplings were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I reminded myself that I can't fight on an empty stomach, so I decided to have dinner before a drinking party in the evening. I found a nice local diner and ordered the pork bowl, which was delicious. The place was not crowded, so I could easily get a table. The menu seemed similar to Yoshinoya or other chain restaurants. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Chukasoba is hard to get into... but I really wanted to eat there! That's when it's perfect♪ On a cold night, I ordered the hot Cantonese noodles. It had plenty of vegetables and warmed me up! The slightly rich Chinese restaurant taste (not like a ramen shop) was great. The popular "Toshu set" includes fried rice, half a bowl of ramen, and dumplings. Many people were ordering it! It seemed like a restaurant that is easy for couples, families, and even solo female diners to enter. Thank you for the meal♪

I ordered the shrimp chili set meal. The prices at this restaurant are a bit high, but you can still get the shrimp chili set meal for 850 yen, which is a good deal. There were quite a lot of shrimp in the dish, and they were plump and delicious!

This time, I ordered the stamina stir-fry with motsu (offal) and vegetables set meal. It was delicious. It definitely passes the test. I have been to this restaurant many times, but I have never had a disappointing meal.

Today I ordered the ginger pork set meal. As usual, it was delicious for the price, but I think I preferred the pork BBQ bowl I had before.
