食肉魔軒
Located in a small alley off the main street leading to Tokyo Tower, this small Italian restaurant is a great spot for lunch. The clientele mainly consists of office workers from nearby offices, but there are also quite a few foreigners, possibly due to the nearby embassies. Upon entering, you are greeted in Italian, giving a welcoming feel. The interior has a calm atmosphere with dim lighting, different from the typical bright cafe vibe, which is quite nice. There are only table seats, and the spacing between tables is relatively spacious, but it can feel cramped during peak lunch hours. The manager, who seems to be Italian, efficiently handles everything from serving to billing, engaging in lively conversations with customers at different tables, and always making them laugh. The female staff members are also possibly Italian and very beautiful, adding to the charm of the place. Ordering and small talk are in Italian, creating a feeling of being in Italy. The lunch menu offers a choice of pasta, pizza, risotto, or a special dish, each served with a salad and a drink for prices ranging from 1000 yen to 1500 yen. I ordered the Salmon Zucchini Cream Tagliatelle (1500 yen), which had a deliciously chewy texture typical of tagliatelle, complemented well by the salmon and cream sauce, although the zucchini flavor was subtle. Considering the price, I wish the portion size of both the salad and pasta were a bit larger, but overall, it felt like a good deal compared to other Italian restaurants. The restroom was busy, so I didn't check it out. It was great that the entire restaurant was non-smoking, but it was disappointing that they didn't accept cards for payment during lunch.
