ゆとりバカ
Everyone hates Mondays, but my junior colleague and I were suffering from a severe case of "Sazae-san syndrome" since last night. However, on such days, the only way to get through is to focus solely on lunch from the morning onwards. Today, at the request of my hyper Monday-blues-stricken junior colleague, we decided to go for yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) for lunch. I wasn't expecting much from yakiniku restaurants around Hamamatsucho area for lunch, but we ended up going to Ushiga, which offers additional meat options during lunchtime (which is very important for me as I have a big appetite). Ushiga is located in a building basement next to the Claire Tower. When we entered, it was just after another customer left, so we had the place to ourselves. My junior colleague ordered the Harami lunch set for 1,100 yen, while I ordered the Stamina Yaki lunch set for 1,100 yen and, feeling that it wouldn't be enough, I instinctively added an additional Kalbi for 700 yen and an additional Harami for 700 yen. Ushiga uses delicious Akita Komachi rice, and they offer free extra rice, so we both opted for extra rice. By the way, at this point, my junior colleague was already giving me a look of disbelief haha. - The salad in the lunch set: It was a salad with a hint of spicy chili, just the right amount for us meat lovers, and it was delicious. - The bean sprout namul in the lunch set: Again, just the right amount for us meat lovers, and it was delicious. It's always nice to have a side dish. - The Kimchi and Wakame soup in the lunch set: Who doesn't want Kimchi with white rice! It's great to eat it alternately with the yakiniku! The Wakame soup had a strong broth but a gentle taste, which was good. - The Stamina Yaki lunch: It came with a three kinds of hormone (offal) platter, today it was heart, rumen, and gizzard. I thought it would come on a small plate, but it was a huge dish, which was a pleasant surprise. Even without the additional meat, a normal person would be more than full with the amount served. And most importantly, the taste and freshness were top-notch! It was so delicious and great value for money that I highly recommend it to fellow offal lovers like me. - The additional Kalbi: For 700 yen, you get four large pieces of Kalbi. It's a great deal, and the Kalbi is so tender and delicious. - The additional Harami: Similarly, for 700 yen, you get four large pieces of Harami. It's tender and has a rich meaty flavor that fills your heart. By the way, the green onion on the additional Harami in the photo was given to me by my green onion-hating junior colleague, so it didn't come with the dish haha. Both of us were eating enthusiastically, and my junior colleague couldn't help but be amazed by my eating speed, going beyond disbelief to being impressed. I was worried if the Harami lunch alone would be enough for my junior colleague, but it turned out to be more than enough for him. Cost performance is not just about being cheap (of course, but sometimes people misunderstand that, including myself), but Ushiga, where quantity, taste, and price all come together, is truly the epitome of great cost performance. I will definitely revisit Ushiga for lunch with my junior colleague soon. Thank you for the meal.
