After a long time, I visited mami+spice for a solo lunch in Tokyo. The location is about a 3-minute walk from Kanda Station. mami+spice is a popular curry shop that operates in a shared space. Although it's in the same Kanda area, they moved from Tsukasa-cho to Kajicho in August. I arrived around 13:50. The seating is only at the counter in the small shop. On the table, there are various spicy condiments, yuzu-kosho chili oil, habanero sauce, chopsticks, forks, spoons, paper towels, and wet wipes provided, and water is served after seating. I ordered a combination of Pork Vindaloo and the weekly Keema curry, which was mushroom and pork Keema. This time, I ordered: - Curry combination of two types for 1,300 yen - Large size for an additional 100 yen, totaling 1,400 yen. I observed the meticulous work of the female owner, and the dishes arrived in about 8 minutes. The plating was delicate and beautiful. In addition to the two curries, there were three side dishes and a boiled egg, making it a very luxurious plate! The Pork Vindaloo, marinated with vinegar for a distinctive acidity, used dashi stock made from bonito and kelp. The Keema curry, with plenty of mushrooms and pork, was mild and not too spicy. The overall taste was gentle, so if you find it lacking, adjust it with the condiments on the table. The side dishes were also delicious, offering plenty of vegetables for a well-balanced lunch. The excellent service from the female owner at mami+spice made the experience even better. I highly recommend visiting this place.

First Visit 2309 (No.4782) 1. Purpose of Visit - The purpose of the visit was to gather information for a food blog in the Kanda area and choose a restaurant for lunch. 2. Restaurant Information - Genre on Tabelog: Curry - Opened on July 26, 2023 - Originally operated as a test kitchen at the famous curry restaurant "Gavial" in Jinbocho, but relocated to Kanda Kajicho - The female owner previously worked at "Gavial Coledo Muromachi 2nd Store" - Utilizes the space of "Trieste," a Mexican & Hawaiian cuisine restaurant, during lunch hours for temporary operation - Operating hours: 11:30-14:30 - Closed on Sundays, irregular holidays - Seating capacity: 16 seats 3. Crowdedness on the Day - Visited around 11:30 on a weekend with 1 customer before and 6 customers after 4. Customer Service - Standard service according to the manual 5. Ordered Items - Curry Combo (Pork Vindaloo, Keema Curry) for 1,300 yen - The dishes arrived in 15-16 minutes and had a visually appealing presentation. The "Pork Vindaloo" was delicious with a hint of spiciness, while the "Keema Curry" on that day had a combination of chicken, clams, and komatsuna, offering a more flavorful taste with the broth and komatsuna. There were chili powder and chili oil on the table for seasoning, allowing for some variation in taste. Finished the meal completely. Thank you for the meal.

A spice curry restaurant opened for lunch only near Kanda Station. The interior of the restaurant has a slightly narrow counter with 6 seats, two 4-seater tables on the second floor, and outdoor tables, but it's scorching hot so I wonder if there are any brave souls eating curry on the terrace? The menu includes the classic pork vindaloo and a weekly changing keema curry, as well as a combination of the two. There are also snacks and drinks available. The curry is made without wheat flour, using plenty of fresh vegetables to promote a healthy body. I chose the weekly keema curry made with Chiba pears and pork. The curry made with pears was quite unusual and caught my interest. The curry plate with two side dishes and keema had a cute presentation with rice as the face and a boiled egg as bunny ears, which was heartwarming. The curry had a mild and gentle flavor, allowing the sweetness of the meat and vegetables to shine, although I couldn't detect the presence of pears with my unrefined palate. The simmered pear next to the bunny ears was sweet and delicious. The side dishes of carrot salad and okra had a subtle acidity that added a nice touch to the meal and were incredibly tasty.

Mami+spice, which used to operate as a sublease on the second floor of Magazan Kanda in Kanda-Tsukasamachi, has relocated to the Trieste store in Kaji-cho in July. I visited their previous location in Kanda-Tsukasamachi when they were very popular, so I decided to wait a month after their relocation to Kaji-cho before visiting. When I arrived, there were no other customers at 1 pm, which surprised me. I ordered the Pork Vindaloo Curry (1,100 yen), which was the only option on the menu. The curry was as delicious as before, with a mild but flavorful taste. The side dishes included cucumber and paprika pickles, daikon achar, and eggplant and okra salad, which were all refreshing and perfect for summer. The portion size was a bit small, but overall, the meal was still delicious. I think the price is quite reasonable for the location under the Kaji-cho guard, and I hope they continue to do well.

mami+spice has relocated to Kanda Fureai Street. They are now operating next to Kitchen723, borrowing the space from Trieste for daytime business. I sat comfortably at a 4-person table on the second floor, where they also offer seating for dining in. I ordered the following: Curry combo with two types of curry (1300 yen) - Pork Vindaloo - (Today's special) Eggplant and Shimeji Mushroom Keema. Unlike the hearty portions at Kitchen723, the curries here were elegantly presented. Perfect for an old man like me with a decreased appetite due to summer fatigue, haha. The Pork Vindaloo had a refined flavor compared to other shops in Kanda. The Keema had a subtle hint of spices and a gentle taste. The pricing may be a bit high, but understandable since it's a one-person operation in a borrowed space. However, additional charges for rice, toppings, and drinks on top of the base curry priced over 1000 yen can be tough for a budget salaryman like me. And what, am I going to save money again by eating at Kosoba at night? Leave me alone, haha.

I arrived at Mami + Spice, a spice curry restaurant in Kanda, a little before noon. There were 6 counter seats on the first floor, and I heard there was also a second floor. I entered and quickly looked at the menu, then placed my order verbally. I ordered two types of curry - Pork Vindaloo Curry and Weekly Special Keema Curry with Zucchini. About 10 minutes later, the curry dishes arrived. They were arranged in a way that resembled rabbit ears, with a boiled egg in the center and rice on both sides. The Keema Curry was on the left and the Pork Vindaloo on the right. When I mixed the Keema and Pork together, it became even more delicious. I enjoyed every bite until the end.

The restaurant that used to operate in Ochanomizu on the Toei Shinjuku Line has moved to Kanda (subletting to subletting), so I got off the train on my way to work! The new location is about a 5-minute walk from the previous one, due to reasons related to the store's contract. The restaurant has changed its operating days from 3 days a week to 6 days a week, hinting at a possible permanent location in the future. Today's special Keema curry is "Zucchini and Beef Pork" and I ordered the special combo (1,300 yen)! The delicious side dishes included cabbage and carrot achaar, boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, and pickled cucumber. The Pork Vindaloo, made with bonito broth, is full of umami flavor and has a gentle taste with a hint of vinegar. The Keema curry "Zucchini and Beef Pork" was excellent, focusing on Japanese flavors and umami. It seems like they have improved their skills since the previous location. Thank you for the meal.

Just visited 'mami+spice' which recently relocated from Kanda Awajicho to Kanda Station East Exit. They serve delicious spice curry at lunchtime as they are operating in a shared space (Trieste). I tried the 'Curry Combo (Pork Vindaloo Curry and Weekly Keema Curry)' for 1,300 yen. The Pork Vindaloo Curry has a unique sourness from marinated pork in vinegar, with a rich flavor from bonito and kelp. The Weekly Keema Curry with zucchini and minced beef and pork was also tasty and easy to eat. By showing my LINE friend registration, I got a complimentary iced coffee. The pickles added a nice tangy touch to the meal.

Mamitas Spice, which used to operate in Kanda, has reopened in a new location in Kanda. This time, they are operating at Trieste for lunch. Trieste is known for its delicious curry at Kitchen 723, which is a sister store. It is interesting that they are now offering curry at this location. I tried the Pork Vindaloo and Beef Pork Minced Eggplant curry. Both curries and side dishes had a gentle and homely taste. Even for those who are not fond of spices, these curries are easy to eat. The meat and vegetables are well balanced, making it a healthy option. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively with regular customers from the previous location, showing the strong connection they have with the neighborhood.
