Local cozy izakaya with a nice atmosphere that I would love to visit regularly. The friendly oba-chan (middle-aged lady) adds to the charm of this neighborhood-oriented establishment.

The review is biased towards the local area. I like the homey atmosphere and the friendly older ladies. Although new restaurants are popping up in Akabane recently, this place has a good old-school Akabane vibe that I appreciate.

It's a very noisy restaurant. Even when young people are being loud, the staff doesn't say anything. Not recommended.

A favorite restaurant of mine from long ago.

While walking along Akabane 1st Street, I came across a new restaurant called Kabukitei. The menu featured whale cutlet for 600 yen, which caught my attention. The restaurant was bustling with activity, and I decided to have a drink there. The interior was spacious with a small raised seating area near the entrance. I ordered the whale cutlet, which was served hot and crispy. It resembled beef in texture and was delicious with some mustard soy sauce. I also had a bottle of Asahi Super Dry beer for 594 yen. The total bill came to 1560 yen, which was a reasonable price for a satisfying meal.
