A foodie recommended this place and I made a reservation. The entrance was a bit dark but the interior was cozy with a counter and private seating. The side dishes were delicious, such as the marinated sea bream and avocado with wasabi miso. The main dish, oden, was amazing with various ingredients like daikon, egg, and tongue. The egg over rice was also impressive. The dessert, chocolate cake, was rich and satisfying. The restaurant even makes their desserts in-house. Overall, the food was delicious and I would love to visit again. Make sure to make a reservation in advance.

An oden shop located about a 3-minute walk from Ebisu Station. They have both a counter and semi-private seats that feel like a cave. The semi-private seats are small, making it a good choice for couples looking to get closer. The atmosphere inside is quite dark and cozy, with a focus on Japanese sake and craft beer. The food is delicious overall, with the tomato oden being a standout dish.

The oden was delicious, and the beef tongue was very tender and satisfying. They also had unique toppings like grilled banana and wasabi soy sauce, which I tried. The owner was working alone, and the cozy atmosphere was calming.

Located just across the street from Ebisu Station West Exit, behind the Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, the place is easy to find on the map. It's on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator, only stairs. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is dark, like a cave, so it might be a good choice for a first meal in Ebisu or as a second stop for a quick bite at a bar. The space is small, so you might feel close to your dining companion, which could be a concern for some. Even in the summer, you can enjoy unique dishes like Keema-flavored oden. The standout menu item is the thick-cut beef tongue, which is delicious! The house beer is Sapporo Classic, refreshing and pairs well with the oden broth. They also offer a selection of craft beers in bottles.

Toyo Rikishi is a sake aged in a cave. I ordered the cave set, which comes with two appetizers and a choice of three light oden dishes. The appetizers were cucumber with miso paste and pickled plum. For oden, I chose grilled eggplant, jewel tomatoes, and mochi cheese skewers. The jewel tomatoes seem to be a specialty here. My friend ordered cabbage rolls, mochi cheese skewers, and beef tendons. Honestly, nothing really stood out to me. The restaurant is quite small, with a cozy, hidden vibe - it used to be a snack bar, I think.

A pitch-black oden shop. It seems like something that would be hard to find outside of Minato Ward. A place where men and women enjoy well-seasoned oden in a narrow seat in darkness. Oden doesn't make you gain weight no matter how much you eat, right? The entrance is through a steep staircase. A place where people keep their distance. But that's what makes it good.

We were served marinated tuna as the appetizer. The seared red snapper with myoga and wasabi was delicious, with a great aroma from the seared skin. The Caesar salad was also very tasty. We tried various items from the oden menu, but personally, I really enjoyed the beef tongue. And the Spicy Keema was incredibly delicious! Just be careful with drinking too much as the restaurant is on the 3rd floor with only stairs.

The entrance to the cave oden is a bit hard to find, and I hesitated for a moment to see if I was in the right place before opening the door. But once inside, I was greeted by a dimly lit space with soft indirect lighting, creating a cozy adult hideaway atmosphere. I was looking forward to oden and Japanese sake on a cold day, so I ordered oden as my main dish. The classic daikon was already impressive - thick and satisfying, smoothly sliding off the chopsticks. The broth had soaked into it perfectly, making it incredibly delicious. The plates of hanpen, rolled cabbage, and beef tendon were different, each with a different type of broth, showcasing the attention to detail. There were two types of sake that paired well with oden, both chilled and warm. I quickly finished both. In addition to oden, I also ordered sashimi from the appetizer menu. The seared aroma and texture of the sashimi were top-notch. For dessert, there was also a meat udon in meat broth, and I ended up enjoying a crispy grilled rice ball with broth tea. It's a wonderful place where you can truly savor the richness of the broth. Great atmosphere, great food.

At Ebisu no Dokutsu Oden, there are cave-like seats and counter seats. The restaurant is very popular and conveniently located near the station. I chose a counter seat where I could see the oden being prepared. The drinks on the menu were visually appealing, such as the Butterfly Pea Tea Sour where the color changes when lemon is squeezed in. The appetizer was fresh sea bream sashimi and avocado marinated in Saikyo miso, which enhanced the flavor and paired well with alcohol. The uni, sea cucumber, and ikura served on a lotus flower were incredibly delicious. The oden included various vegetables like daikon, eggplant, and jewel tomatoes, each with a different broth based on the ingredient. The lettuce was incredibly crunchy. The thick-cut tongue dish was a must-try, both in terms of presentation and taste. The strawberry sour was refreshing, and the fruit sours on the menu were diverse. The cheesecake was probably the thinnest in the world, and the pork stew and beef tendon were tender and well-cooked. The highlight was the egg over rice, made with high-quality eggs from Kobayashi Farm in Hokkaido. The Gâteau au Chocolat dessert was sophisticated and delicious. Overall, from the alcohol pairings to the desserts, the restaurant offered high-quality and delicious dishes, living up to its reputation as a popular spot in Ebisu.

Located on the 3rd floor of a building in a back alley near Ebisu Station, "Dokutsu Oden" is a hidden gem of a bar that serves delicious oden made with top-notch broth. The bar features a counter with various bottles of alcohol lined up, as well as three semi-private booths for two by the window, all lit by lanterns creating a cozy atmosphere. Whether you want to enjoy a proper meal as your first stop, have some drinks and snacks as your second stop, or have a romantic date in a couple's seat, this place is suitable for various occasions. The unique menu includes snacks ranging from ¥440 to items like grilled banana sashimi, the world's thinnest cheesecake, goya champuru, and more. The owner recommends the "Homemade Avocado Nishiki Pickles (¥660)" to pair with sake. The oden is made using four different broths tailored to the ingredients, such as the "Basic Broth" with plenty of vegetables, the "Oden Broth" with added bonito flakes, the "Meat Broth" with a sweet and savory taste, and the "Tomato Broth" with a concentrated sweet and sour flavor. The oden ingredients are carefully selected, offering about 20 different options to enjoy seasonal flavors. Don't miss the "Jewel Tomato (¥550)" which is a must-try. When you bite into the perfectly soft tomato, you'll experience a burst of sweet and sour flavors. For the meat oden made with the third broth, the highly recommended "Thick-cut Beef Tongue (¥1,650)" is a must-try. The beef tongue is boiled for three hours and simmered in broth for another three hours, resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness with a perfect balance of texture from the crispy lettuce and a delicious sweetness from the broth. The bar offers a wide selection of drinks, including craft beers, whiskies, spirits, wines, sake, shochu, and a variety of sours made with fresh fruits. The bar is open until 4 am on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 1 am on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The newly opened establishment, which has been open for two months, offers a "zero cooperation fee" even when closing at 8 pm. The counter seats have splash prevention panels, and the semi-private booths are well-spaced from other seats, ensuring proper infection prevention measures are in place. This makes it a great choice for small gatherings or romantic dates.

This is a shop opened by the first head chef of Kyoto Maromaro, a famous oden shop in Ebisu. It is located near Ebisu Station, up the stairs with a straw curtain, on the third floor. There is no elevator, so it's a bit hard to find if you don't know about it. The interior has a counter and semi-private cave-like rooms. I sat at the counter. After eating quite a lot, I tried their specialty Jewel Tomato oden and Fukufuku Ganmo, along with a few other dishes. The Jewel Tomato was delicious with its sweetness blending well with the broth. The Fukufuku Ganmo was also excellent with plenty of ingredients. The prices for individual dishes are a bit high (for oden), but the cozy atmosphere makes it a great place for a second stop as an oden bar. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The taste and the service of the staff were both very good, but the space was a bit small. The oden and tamago kake gohan were delicious. The total cost for two people was ¥12,000.

The stairs outside are very steep, so it can be a bit nerve-wracking finding the place for the first time. But once the door opens, you enter a cave-like space that is really lovely. The ceilings are low, and the semi-private booths are cozy and have a nice atmosphere. The menu isn't extensive, but you can order just one item of oden, which is delicious and has a nice texture. Surprisingly, they have a wide variety of whiskies, so it's a great place for drinks. You can enjoy some oden as a snack while you drink, which is a good combination.
