There used to be a Baumkuchen shop in Koenji. It seemed like they made it in the store, and before I could buy one to take home, it disappeared (cry). This seems to be a branch of that shop. However, since it's just a corner of Marui, they only sell the products and do not make them in the store. In addition to Baumkuchen, they also sell tea. Actually, based on the shop's website, it seems like they are a shop specializing in Baumkuchen and tea. Since I have been spending more time at home, I wanted to get into tea this year. I ended up buying a lot of tea lucky bags from the end of the year (2 each from Lupicia and Basilur, as well as Karel Capek, Lipton, Nina's. I bought too much lol), and now I have enough for the next few years (I tend to get into things based on appearances lol). However, whenever I see tea, I can't help but react (lol). Although I was interested in Baumkuchen, I also wanted to use the Marui shopping voucher I had, so I ended up buying more tea lol. It's great that they sell tea in single bags. Unfortunately, I already have a large amount at home, so I decided to choose from what they had! There were so many varieties even in the single bags that it was hard to choose. I chose the popular No.1 tea named after the shop and Caramel Chocolat (I love chocolate), and White Peach Rooibos. I prefer to drink non-caffeinated tea before going to bed, so the abundance of Rooibos was great! After returning home, I immediately tried the "Caramel Chocolat" tea! The expiration date was earlier than the other two, which are for next year. There was a square caramel-like lump visible inside the tea bag. I was surprised because I had never seen anything like it before. Maybe because I saw that, the aroma of caramel was strong while brewing (I'm the type that is easily influenced by suggestions). Since I usually prefer unsweetened drinks, I tried it as it is! It didn't taste very much like Caramel Chocolat, but it had a rich flavor and was delicious. I'm not very good at judging the taste of tea, so it's hard to say (I still have a long way to go before I can stop being just a tea lover... orz). There were also Baumkuchen and tea gifts around the cash register, which would be perfect for gifts. Or rather, I want to receive them lol. I wanted to buy ice cream from the Thirty-One inside Marui, but it was closed, which was a bit of a shock (later I realized that there was a street shop on the north side... I didn't think about it and ended up going home without buying). I hope this shop continues to thrive!
