Takeout Kimuraya at Shinjuku Isetan's Melting Curry Bread didn't melt at all. There was hardly any curry sauce or filling inside, so it tasted unbalanced and not delicious. It wasn't fried, but baked, so it lacked a crispy texture and depth of flavor. The fluffy white bread had just a little bit of sauce. Is this really a curry bread?

I visited the Meitetsu Department Store in Ichinomiya for the final day of the event. They are famous for their anpan, but this time I wanted to try the Cream Pan Cornet collaboration with Nissin, which is a complete meal in itself. I tried the cream pan today, as it had the earliest expiration date. The custard cream filling was firm and delicious. I am looking forward to trying the Complete Meal Anpan tomorrow. Today's event was a new experience that caught my eye with all the food offerings.

While thinking about what bread to eat for breakfast, I suddenly remembered that tomorrow is An Butter Day! I was on my way to Isetan when this thought popped into my head. The shop is located in the basement of Shinjuku Isetan, in a corner where bakeries line up. There is a showcase facing the aisle, displaying various types of bread. An Butter is a popular choice, as it contains butter and seems to be a winter limited edition item. I haven't seen it in the summer before, so I assume it's seasonal. It tends to sell out quickly, but luckily there was one left on this day. I lined up at the register and when it was my turn, I ordered "An Butter, please." I quickly paid and took it to go. While it's common to warm the inside of the bread and then toast the surface before eating, I didn't want the butter to melt too much, so I only slightly warmed the surface. The bread had a slightly firm texture, with plenty of red bean paste and butter inside. The butter was soft, almost oozing out when held in hand. I savored the combination of red bean paste and butter, along with the chewy bread. It was a delicious meal.

The Kimuraya bakery is famous for their anpan. I have bought it several times at the Ginza main store in the past, but I haven't bought it in a while. I also bought bread at the Shinjuku Isetan store before, and I wanted to try it again, so I bought it for breakfast this week. I bought the sweet potato paste butter whip, among two other types. The sweet potato paste and rich butter were very delicious in the bread. Thank you for the meal.

- Melting curry bread
I wonder where the naan is in this. It's just a regular curry bread. What exactly is the definition of naan? The curry filling does have a thick consistency, which could be considered melting. It's spicy, but I didn't find it particularly delicious.
- Sake Kasu Cream Bun
The red bean paste inside was quite firm. I remember being more impressed when I had it in the past, but maybe the standard has gone up! It was from the Isetan basement, next to Maison Kayser. Thank you for the meal!

I purchased morning bread from "Kimuraya" at Shinjuku Isetan and ate it at Hamura Dam Park before starting my cycling trip. I bought an orange jam bread for 278 yen, a lemon anpan for 232 yen, and a red bean paste anpan for 167 yen. The orange jam bread has cream cheese inside and marmalade on top. The marmalade is my favorite, so I think it should be a regular menu item rather than a seasonal one. The lemon anpan has lemon-flavored white bean paste and lemon jelly on top. It's impressive how they added lemon flavor to the mild white bean paste. The red bean paste anpan is a classic one-bite bread. Overall, I think this one is the most delicious.

My husband suggested going to Isetan for accessory maintenance, saying, "I've never bought anything from this store before, so let's go here." It's true that we haven't bought anything from Isetan before. When I asked, "What do you want to eat?" he immediately replied, "Curry Nan." So, I bought it for him because he must have really wanted to eat it (laughs). But I also wanted an anpan, so I bought one for myself.
- Melting Curry Nan: 281 yen
The fluffy dough was delicious, so I took a bite. Hmm? Is this really nan? It's a bit different from what I imagined nan to be, but it was definitely delicious! The curry was spicy with a slight thickness to it. It was light and healthy.
- Sake Kasu Shine Muscat: 251 yen
Since it's muscat, I wonder if it's limited to the season? The green-colored bean paste with jelly on top looked beautiful. But the taste was like, hmm (ー_ー;). It's muscat, but the jelly felt more like sugary candy, which was disappointing coming from Kimuraya. I should have just stuck with a regular anpan... Thank you for the meal.

Meitetsu Department Store * Sake-variety Ogura Hokkaido red bean paste Traditional sake dough made with red beans from Hokkaido, first sold in Meiji 7 (1874). Although small, there were many varieties available. * Curry Bread The image of anpan is strong, so it's something mysterious (laughs) It's the original anpan, isn't it?

Anpan 5-piece set for 900 yen. Includes anpan, poppy seed, cherry blossom, white bean, and sesame. The bread is soft and chewy, and the sweet bean paste inside is not too sweet. The cherry blossom anpan with a hint of saltiness was a great match. Eating a classic anpan like this made me feel warm and cozy.

"Honey Black Bean Anpan" I can't drink beer, so I went in search of healthy side dishes for dinner, and I couldn't resist buying "ONLY MI" when I saw it. - Honey Black Bean Anpan 231 yen When I took a bite, I could see the shiny black beans inside. They were honey-soaked and delicious! It felt like an early New Year's treat. A fantastic bread that I had never seen before. - Sauce-filled Hokkaido Croquette Bread 281 yen It really hit the spot with plenty of sauce and Hokkaido flavor. Right up my alley, I surrender. - Sake Yeast Amaou Strawberry 251 yen A new product! Marketed as such, it caught my attention and I also bought this to take home. Strawberries! But when I asked my daughter, she said the strawberries were not whole, so I bought it anyway. The smooth strawberry paste was delicious. The total cost was 761 yen. I may be simple, but if it's delicious, that's all that matters. I can't help but be drawn to things like "limited edition" or "new product" - as long as it tastes good. It wasn't just about the anpan at Kimuraya. "Thank you for the meal!" Grateful!

I bought curry bread here. I was interested in it but unfortunately, I couldn't handle it. The curry bread had curry and fukujinzuke inside, which I didn't like the texture of. I was disappointed because I was expecting something different. It was watery and not like the Madras curry bread I was hoping for.

I went to Shinjuku and bought a chocolate banana bread at Ginza Kimuraya. Since there are chocolate bananas at festival stalls, I think they go well with bread. The bread has banana cookies and chocolate chips on top. Inside the bread, there is also banana cream. The scent of bananas, the sweetness of the cream, and the chocolate chips all come together nicely. Bananas and chocolate really do go well with bread! Both classic and unique variations are delicious!

The basement of Shinjuku Isetan is a treasure trove of curry bread. This time, let me introduce you to the unique curry bread from a well-known long-established store. "Ginza Kimuraya Shinjuku Isetan Main Store" has been in business for over 150 years and is famous as the originator of "anpan". There are two types of curry bread available at the store: Ginza Hand-Wrapped Beef Curry and Melting Curry Nan. I bought the Melting Curry Nan. This is actually a fluffy white bread dough with curry inside. The curry inside is a pure Japanese curry without any Indian elements, but it offers a completely different taste from the typical fried curry bread. And one more thing, when you think of "Ginza Kimuraya", you think of "anpan". While the classic anpan is delicious, this time I tried a different kind of bread. I bought the Sake Kasu Setouchi Lemon. It has a sweet lemon-flavored jelly on top of smooth white bean paste. After one bite, I thought, "Oh, this is delicious." This is truly the pioneer of anpan. Kimuraya offers a variety of fun breads, but be sure to buy at least one anpan. That's what I confirmed once again.

I purchased bread from Ginza Kimuraya at Shinjuku Isetan. I bought a curry bread and a Ginza cream melon bread. The curry bread was very big and had a naan-like texture, while the melon bread had delicious cream. I would like to use their services again in the future.

This is a store located on the basement floor of Shinjuku Isetan Department Store in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Today's snack is a jumbo mushi cake. I was told that it's delicious when chilled, but I had it as it is. It was moist, soft, and had a fluffy texture, very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

When it comes to Kimuraya, they are known for their anpan (sweet bun with red bean paste filling). During the Christmas season, I was looking for Christmas-themed bread, so I bought a cute Christmas tree-shaped bread. It had strawberry cream with grains inside, and it was delicious in a simple way. Next time, I would like to try their various anpan flavors!

The coronet looked very delicious, so I bought it for a snack! I love peanut cream! The cream is very tasty. The bread seems to have less water in it, right? But... but... the cream only goes up to the second layer from the bottom. It's sad. The top part has no cream, just bread. When I held it, it felt surprisingly light, and it turned out that there was hardly any cream inside. Haha. For 200 yen each, the satisfaction level is low, so I think I'll stick to the standard red bean paste bread.

I am at Isetan. I'm feeling a bit hungry, so I want to eat some bread. While I usually enjoy thick bread from Western brands, today I'm in the mood for Kimuraya's bread that reflects Japanese aesthetics. Ever since trying it in Ginza, I've been a fan for years. I chose the cheese cream this time. I went upstairs and enjoyed it in the pedestrian paradise on a holiday. Hmm, this is it. The custard-colored cheese cream is thick and rich. It's not cream cheese. The cheese is thoroughly melted into the elegantly sweet cream. My husband also enjoyed the whole wheat tuna bread he had.

I bought Kimuraya's anpan for the first time in a while, and it turned out to be delicious. The bread was not too airy, and the red bean paste was moist. I tried to buy a lemon pie from Maison Kayser, but they were sold out in the morning, so I ended up buying from Kimuraya, which actually makes bread for Maison Kayser. The bread section at Isetan has a strong presence of Andersen and Kimuraya. Even if a new bakery opens, they quickly disappear.
