Weekday evenings at Big Boy in Fuji-mi-cho, Chofu City, Tokyo offer great value for money. The nearest station is Chofu Station on the Keio Line, about a 20-minute walk away according to Google Maps. There is a bus stop called Gotazaka nearby, but most people seem to use cars for transportation. There are parking and bicycle parking available. I was looking for a place where I could use my Rakuten points and decided to visit after a long time. Although lunch is also affordable (starting from 580 yen + tax for a single item), the "Night Queue" after 5 pm offers even better value. The full set (salad, rice, soup, curry, and drink all-you-can-eat) starts from 900 yen + tax. The menu for the night queue includes about 8 items, which may vary depending on the season. I ordered the 200g hamburger for 900 yen + tax. The hamburger was served in less than 10 minutes and was juicy, although it lacked a bit in meatiness. The accompanying potatoes were thin and crispy, similar to McDonald's fries. The drink bar offers coffee, cappuccino, cocoa, and over 10 types of tea. The soup bar has wakame and corn soup, and the rice bar offers white rice and turmeric rice. The curry is sweet with potatoes and meat. The salad bar includes 2 types of pasta, as well as shredded cabbage, shredded Chinese cabbage, tofu, cherry tomatoes, edamame, seaweed, corn, cauliflower, and more. As part of the salad bar, there were almond jelly, coffee jelly, pineapple, and melon. At the bar counter, gloves are required, and there are transparent sheets for hygiene. I had heard before that "the salad bar alone is enough," but this time the fruit options were limited and there were only 2 types of pasta for the side dishes, so I felt that the salad bar alone was not satisfying. However, the vegetables were fresh, and the value for money for the main dish and buffet was excellent.
