The waffle is slightly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, making it a perfect snack. It is slightly sweet and delicious on its own. You can also enjoy it with fruits or ice cream on top. For those with a sweet tooth, adding plenty of maple syrup is recommended.

Located about a 1-minute walk from Gotanda Station, this café is part of a chain that also has branches in Roppongi and other areas. I happened to drop by and it turned out to be a great decision. The interior of the café has a retro vibe, reminiscent of the Showa era, which exudes a unique sense of calm. The seating is spacious, with mostly sofa-style seats and many cozy booth seats. Today, I ordered the "Syphon-style Deep Roast Iced Coffee" for ¥1,000 and the "Summer Orange and Honey Charlotte" for ¥800. The coffee had a rich flavor and depth, truly impressive. The cakes were also delicious, probably handmade in-house rather than outsourced. I don't usually frequent chain cafes, but I would definitely come back to this "Shu" café if I encountered it in another area. The service was top-notch, with all the staff providing excellent customer service. I've decided to become a regular here. Thank you for the wonderful experience! Ahhh.

Holiday visit in the afternoon. Planning to go to a nearby popular coffee shop, but unexpectedly it was closed for the day. Feeling like having coffee, my partner and I looked around and decided to try a place called "Shu" nearby. Surprisingly, it was not crowded at all, even though it was a holiday afternoon! Located just across the pedestrian crossing from Gotanda Station, this place is a hidden gem. As we climbed the stairs to the second floor, I couldn't help but think that it had a nostalgic Taisho era vibe. The entrance was very clean and well-maintained. The staff quickly noticed us and confirmed if we preferred smoking or non-smoking seats. We were seated in a private booth. The atmosphere was just perfect. We ordered: - Monthly special coffee "Burundi" for 1000 yen - Sakura shortcake for 900 yen The coffee was brewed using a siphon method, both hot and iced. (The photo shows the iced coffee my partner ordered) The "Burundi" coffee was bold and rich, with no acidity. I really enjoyed its deep flavor. The coffee paired perfectly with the sakura shortcake, which had sakura bean paste inside. The combination of Japanese and Western flavors was exquisite. Most importantly, the service was impeccable. It felt like we were having tea in a luxurious hotel lounge. I must apologize for underestimating this place based on its appearance as a chain coffee shop. I will definitely be returning!

I had some time before a meeting so I decided to stop by this place. They have smoking seats inside. There were so many menu options that I had a hard time deciding. I tried the Seasonal Blend Coffee (1000 yen) which had a strong acidity and a rich flavor, definitely worth the price! I also had the BLT sandwich (1100 yen) which was very filling with lots of vegetables. It was a great match with the coffee, overall a good time! Thank you for the meal.

Good evening♪ This is the Cake Bureaucrat, known for my harsh reviews on cakes, ramen, and bread. After finishing a meal at the popular Michelin-selected ramen shop "Saioto" in Gotanda, I came to this cafe for dessert. The prices here are higher than your average cafe (around 1000 yen for a cup of coffee), but it's worth it. The atmosphere is calm, the staff are attentive, and it's not as crowded as Starbucks, so you can usually find a seat without much of a wait. Plus, if you order a cake and a drink together, you get a 330 yen discount on the drink. The clientele here seems to prefer old-school cafes, so some older gentlemen might not appreciate the sweetness of the cakes here, but they are definitely tastier than those at your average cake shop. There are multiple branches in Tokyo besides Gotanda, so if you visit one of them, be sure to try their coffee and cake♪ (You'll get a 330 yen discount too) Thank you for the meal♪

When it comes to a cafe, you can expect to enjoy a proper curry dish. The cozy sofas provide a relaxed atmosphere for chatting. The coffee is top-notch, but they also offer juices for those who prefer not to drink alcohol while conversing. The nearby KFC is usually busy, but it's quieter in the evenings and could be a good option for a cafe visit. On the other hand, the Excelsior cafe nearby was extremely crowded.

WBC is currently in full swing, how are you all doing these days? For those of us from the Showa generation, whenever Journey's "Separate Ways" plays, we can't help but get excited. TBS has been using it as the theme song for the WBC, so it has become synonymous with the event. Despite being a breakup song, the synth intro and powerful vocals of Steve Perry give it a sense of courage. Our Japanese team will be facing Mexico in the semifinals. Coincidentally, I had Mexican pilaf in February. So, riding on the current wave, I decided to review it. I had trouble finding Swachika, known for its menchi-katsu, near JR Osaki Station, so I ended up at another restaurant and ordered the Mexican pilaf set. The restaurant had a European-style interior and a classy atmosphere, but the prices were a bit high. The pilaf had a curry and chili flavor, with a soft-boiled egg and three sausages. However, it seemed like a pre-made dish, which was a bit disappointing. After finishing my meal, I headed to TBS for the WBC. The starting pitcher for the Mexico game is expected to be Sasaki. Let's support our Japanese team with all our might and show our samurai spirit.

In Gotanda, there are two branches of the coffee and tea house "Shu". Both are located on the second floor, and after climbing the steep stairs, you will find a calm and relaxing space. This time, I visited the shop on the east side. The set with the "Chocolat Orange (880 yen)" drink is the "Premium Amber (990 yen)", and since the original coffee is priced at this amount, the 300 yen discount for the set is a good deal. The combination of chocolate and orange reminds me of the good taste I experienced as a child with "Mother Biscuit". The chocolate flavor of the cake is normal, and it goes well with the refreshing orange. It can be a bit heavy after eating one, but I think it's better than being too light. It's a full-service place where you can spend a relaxing time. The price may seem high, but it's a nice place to read a book.

I casually dropped by a coffee shop while waiting for a meeting. They seemed to specialize in high-end coffee with prices similar to a hotel. The place was quite busy, mostly with businessmen. The staff provided good service. I ordered their original coffee roll cake, which looked delicious, and it was worth the price of around 800 yen. I was only there for about 20 minutes, so I'd like to come back and relax next time.

I ordered an iced coffee chocolate banana parfait and a Tokyo coffee roll. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, but the food options were limited, making it a bit tricky for a proper meal. They had a smoking booth, which I think would be convenient for smokers.

Coffee, a smoke, and some office work brought me here. The location is very convenient, visible even from the station platform. The smoking booth is a nice touch for smokers. I ordered the "Premium Amber" coffee. Despite following the chain's manual, it feels a bit awkward when the server kneels down to take the order. The coffee is good, fitting for its price. The bustling atmosphere inside reminds me of the old days of station-side cafes.

I visited Coffee and Tea House Shu in the vicinity of Gotanda Station for a cafe experience. There are two branches in Gotanda, the East Exit and West Exit, and this time I visited the East Exit branch. The interior of the store is spacious, with ample space between tables, and there were many people having meetings or working on their laptops. The menu mainly consists of coffee, along with tea, lattes, and light meals, with multiple types of coffee beans available. The price range for drinks is from 900 yen, giving the impression more of a high-end coffee shop rather than a casual cafe. On a hot day, I ordered an iced coffee. It had a refreshing taste and was delicious.

It was simply delicious. Please note that I write my comments honestly so that people who read reviews do not make wrong judgments. Sometimes my expressions may be a bit extreme, but please understand. I mostly praise things. Thank you in advance.

I visited the store on the second floor. I adjusted my time and everyone was relaxing with their morning. I was quite pleased with the seat where I could see the outdoors ♡ (There was also a [Shu] on the second floor of the west exit) The store has a dignified atmosphere and it is very calming (❁´◡`❁) ●Morning set ◯Toast Thick butter toast with blueberry jam choice ◯Boiled egg ◯Drink Premium iced coffee Thank you for the meal. The staff's customer service was very good and I was able to spend a short time comfortably. Thank you very much.

There is a cafe on the second floor of a building in front of Gotanda Station. I ordered the recommended Tokyo Coffee Roll set, which includes coffee. The coffee roll cake with plenty of cream tastes delicious when eaten with coffee. There are also various types of coffee available.

It seems that each store makes their own cakes, and here at the Gotanda Higashiguchi store, they recommended the "Delis Cafe" for their 16th anniversary. It was a limited-time offering featuring a combination of burnt caramel mousse, brownie, vanilla ice cream, and macaron. It was a masterpiece that had great visuals, textures, and deliciousness. The coffee, a medium roast from Toraja, had a rich acidity that was enjoyable after cooling down a bit. The staff were also very friendly, and the atmosphere felt like a sophisticated cafe for adults, making it a very comfortable place to be.

I had lunch elsewhere, but I wanted to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. The cakes looked delicious too. I've been to other branches before, but this one was really good. The customer service was excellent and I felt soothed. I will definitely go back. The 16th anniversary cake was delicious too. It's a great place. Maybe there are still surprisingly nice coffee shops nearby.

When you want to relax and read a book, "Shu" is a great place to go. The seating is comfortable, the music is at a pleasant volume, and the atmosphere is just right with the voices of other customers. The prices are a bit high, which might keep away rowdy crowds. I chose the Seasons Top Coffee, a Costa Rican coffee from the Tres Hermanas farm. The farm is run by a husband and wife with three daughters, one of whom helped out as the farm's poster girl, hence the name. The coffee arrived in a beautiful blue, Japanese-style cup. The roast aroma I love was subtle, with a refreshing taste and a clean finish without much bitterness. As it sat a bit, the bitterness came through, adding a nice change in flavor. This is what makes good coffee enjoyable. I also had the Tokyo Coffee Roll, a vanilla roll cake with coffee jelly as a necklace around it, topped with stick-shaped meringue accents. I was advised to eat the roll cake with the coffee jelly. The roll cake was rich, while the coffee jelly had a subtle coffee flavor, so having them separately was also an option. It was a perfect choice for a coffee break, just as I had hoped.

JR Yamanote Line, Gotanda Station is about a 2-minute walk away. Since the shop is located in front of a crossroads, there is no parking or bicycle parking available. The shop is on the second floor, up a flight of stairs. During this time, I tried the limited edition Christmas Bush de Noel Chocolat for ¥935 (tax included). The cake contains homemade marmalade, which adds a slight acidity to the sweetness, making it not too rich. If you order a set, you can get a drink for ¥220 (tax included). The store has Wi-Fi and a calm atmosphere, making it convenient for when you want to relax after work or take a breather, or when you need to use the internet.

I happened to visit this cafe "Coffee and Tea House Shu Gontanda Higashiguchi Store" as I had a stopover in Gotanda area. Originally, I was planning to visit the nearby famous cafe "Toujours Debut" but unfortunately it was closed on that day. The cafe was quite crowded when I visited around 3 pm on a Saturday, so I had to wait for a couple of minutes at the entrance. I decided to try the "El Salvador" coffee as it caught my attention at the entrance. I also wanted to order cheesecake, but the staff highly recommended their special "Buche de Noel Chocolat" which I ended up ordering. The total order included: - Rare Harvest Coffee: ¥1,045 - Buche de Noel Chocolat: ¥935 - Set discount: -¥220 The coffee had a hint of spice like ginger and was not too acidic, making it easy to drink. The Buche de Noel Chocolat was not overly sweet and had a nice taste, although it was not something I would typically eat. Overall, the staff were very welcoming and the cafe had a good atmosphere. Despite ordering only coffee and cake, both were well-prepared and I had a relaxing time during my short visit. Thank you for the meal! I would love to visit again if I have the chance, maybe at a different location.
