When I don't have an appetite in the morning, it has become a habit for me to drink a sugar-dissolved café latte. This time, I visited Blue Bottle in Shinjuku. The shop is located on the first floor of NEWoMan, directly connected to Shinjuku Station. Although NEWoMan itself opens around noon, Blue Bottle and Lobrosion open early in the morning. Therefore, you need to enter from the opposite entrance as the one near Takashimaya is closed. Due to the New Year, the shop was bustling with overseas visitors from early in the morning. They don't stay long, just drink their coffee and leave quickly, so I secured a seat at the right time. First, you place your order at the register. I asked for a hot café latte and was able to choose between the blend and single origin beans. When I asked about the characteristics of today's single origin beans, they explained that it's a lightly roasted bean with a strong acidity, a new variety they recently sourced. Since I like that type of bean, I asked for the single origin with an additional charge. At the checkout, you input your name on a tablet. When your order is ready, they will call your name, so I wonder if people purposely input strange names... I completed the input and payment. There is a kitchen on the NEWoMan side of the store, so you can watch them make your coffee while waiting leisurely. They carefully pour the beans and espresso, creating a drip coffee. If you love coffee, you might not get bored. When my name was called, they handed me a cup with steamed milk and espresso. They confirmed the order and then skillfully created latte art in front of me. A cute heart was formed. I also asked for water and sugar, and enjoyed it slowly at my seat. I sprinkled some large brown sugar grains and stirred slowly with a wooden stick. When I took a sip, at first, a faint bean flavor lingered, followed by the taste of milk, and then the acidity stood out. It's an interesting bean. While helping the Chinese travelers sitting next to me take photos, I leisurely read a book. Thank you for the meal.
