I chose the all toppings ramen with soft noodles (I often get a stomachache if the noodles are not soft enough), normal flavor, and normal oil level, with medium thin noodles (thick noodles are also available). I regretted ordering too much rice for free, so I should have asked for less. The taste is just delicious typical home-style ramen. With all toppings, there is plenty of cabbage, and there is spinach behind the seaweed, so it looks healthy haha.

Lunch during office hours has become a solo lunch tradition at our company. When the restaurant we were aiming for was closed, we ended up here relatively smoothly. It's a typical ramen shop. I ordered the regular "Ie Ie Ie Ramen" (700 yen). The pricing is reasonable lately, with free rice and pickles available. The soup was slightly lukewarm, but the taste was good. I recommend it for those who want to fill their stomachs affordably. Thank you for the meal.

- Visit date and atmosphere: Weekday evening, about 60% full
- Order: Ramen for 650 yen, all toppings normal, noodles medium-thin (choice between medium-thin and thick noodles), free rice and pickled cucumbers
- The ramen has a typical home-style feel
- It may be safe and simple, but that's what makes it good
- Will definitely come back
- Overall: It may not be amazingly delicious, but it's a consistently tasty home-style ramen that I enjoy.

A house-style ramen shop located in front of the Akamon gate of the University of Tokyo. It caters to students by offering free rice with unlimited refills. In addition to the usual house-style questions, customers can choose between medium-thick noodles and thick noodles. I ordered everything normal and thick noodles. The taste was like a classic house-style ramen. The combination of house-style ramen and rice was excellent! Thank you for the meal.

When I saw the cherry blossoms at Ueno Park and got hungry, I avoided the crowds and headed to Hongo Sanchome to eat Yokohama-style ramen at "Ie Ie Ie". The interior of the restaurant had a retro Showa era feel, with old signs hanging like those seen in the countryside, giving it the atmosphere of a Showa era teishoku restaurant. I bought a meal ticket, sat down, and was asked about my preferences. When asked "What do you like?", I was a bit confused. Apparently, there is an unspoken ritual at this restaurant. I replied, "Everything normal" for now. Upon closer inspection, it seems you can specify preferences like noodle firmness and soup richness. They asked, "Do you want rice?" and I said "Yes", thinking it might be an option, but it turned out to be free! The staff were all foreigners, working hard to provide customer service in Japanese. Finally, the ramen arrived. Due to COVID, it was handed over through a plastic barrier and was indeed hot. The way the menu is handed out made me nervous that I might mess up as a customer (lol). Despite that, the ramen was a light Yokohama-style ramen, a bit salty but still delicious. It goes well with white rice! It's so tasty that I'll come back again.

Visited on Friday at 6:00 PM. Had a blood test in the afternoon, so skipped lunch. Got really hungry and ended up having ramen for dinner. There's a house-style ramen place near my house, which is convenient. But having ramen on an empty stomach is probably the worst thing for my blood sugar levels. Ordered a ramen with extra green onions for 950 yen. Rice was free. However, the amount of green onions was too much and threw off the balance. I've been to many delicious house-style ramen shops, but the soup here is just average. The flavor is lacking, no matter how much seasoning or fat you add.

While walking along the side of the University of Tokyo, I stumbled upon a ramen shop during lunchtime. I decided to try their house ramen and ordered the large size. When it arrived, I found the noodles to be medium thickness and the soup very rich. The toppings included seaweed, egg, and spinach, which paired well with the soup and had a good texture. The large size was more than I expected, but I managed to finish it all. It was a delicious meal.

Family-style ramen!! You can choose between medium-thick noodles and thick noodles. Of course, since it's a family-style, you can specify the firmness of the noodles, the intensity of the flavor, and the amount of oil to your liking. I ordered the flavored egg ramen for ¥750 and added cabbage for ¥100 as a topping. My preference is firm noodles, light flavor, and normal oil. This topping preference is a classic at my family-style. I chose the thick noodles this time, which is a first for me at a family-style place. Most other customers seemed to prefer the medium-thick noodles. The soup is rich and flavorful, and it goes well with the cabbage. The thick noodles remind me of udon with their delicious flavor and texture! They are tasty when mixed with the soup. Next time I visit, I would like to try the medium-thick noodles as well.

At Hongo Sanchome, I had house-style ramen for 650 yen. The soy sauce flavor was strong. You can choose between medium-thin noodles or thick noodles. Personally, I think I prefer the thick noodles after trying the thin ones. There is a wide variety of ramen options in Hongo Sanchome, including another house-style ramen shop called "Hongo-ke." With so many choices, it can be difficult to decide.

In the fiercely competitive ramen district of Hongo, I visited this chain restaurant which is ranked No. 3 for its tsukemen. I usually have regular ramen at the Iidabashi branch, but I decided to try the tsukemen here. I purchased the tsukemen (800 yen) at the ticket machine at the entrance and went to the back of the restaurant. It was past the lunch peak, and there were two staff members eating their meal at the counter. There was one customer before me and six customers after me. Even though it was late, more customers were coming in. I sat down, handed over my ticket, and requested extra noodles. They asked if I wanted rice, but I decided not to have any on that day. The tsukemen takes about 10 minutes to prepare, so I waited patiently. It arrived in about 9 minutes. I took a sip of the soup first. It wasn't too salty. There were a few pieces of square-cut chashu inside. Despite being a house-style restaurant, the soup tasted like a regular tsukemen soup. Next, I tried a few strands of the noodles as they were. The noodles were cooked just right, with a good firmness that you can bite through easily. However, I felt they could have been chilled a bit more. The toppings were quite ordinary. The seasoned bamboo shoots were on the salty side. I mixed the noodles with the soup and started eating. My initial impression of the soup remained unchanged - it was just an average tsukemen. I wasn't expecting anything special from a house-style restaurant, so it was neither good nor bad (laughs). The portion of noodles was decent, but I could have gone for the larger size. I didn't feel the need to change the flavor, and I didn't get tired of the taste. I finished it without any issues.

I visited in the evening on a regular day. There was no wait. In fact, there were quite a few people. I ordered the Nori Ramen for 700 yen and also ordered the free rice. The soup was slightly thick with a hint of sweetness. It is a classic style ramen. I really love tonkotsu ramen no matter which restaurant it is. I like to regret putting too much garlic later on, haha. Thank you for the meal.

I thought it was my first post but I already posted! Oh no~! The previous post was a mistake, it's actually Hongo House across from Hongo Street, sorry. I had their ramen before and it's been a while since I visited. I ordered the standard ramen with seasoned egg, extra rich broth, normal noodles, and rice with strong flavor. As always, I rolled the rice in seaweed soaked in soup and took a bite. Hmm, the seaweed flavor seems a bit lacking. In the end, the strong flavor was too strong. Next time, I'll order with normal flavor, extra fat, soft noodles, and rice. Let's see how that goes.

The ramen lunch set with ajitama (flavored egg) and 3 (or 4?) grilled dumplings was priced at 950 yen, but the staff forgot to include the ajitama... until the end of the meal. I also forgot about it. Well, these things happen sometimes. The dumplings were lightly seasoned and seemed a bit bland. The ramen was pretty tasty though. The soup was nostalgic. In the same family as Musashikoyama, there is a ramen shop called "Akutagawa" near Doshisha University and Kyoto University, where I used to frequent. Even within the family, it has a rich flavor. Even with a regular order, the chicken oil is rich. The soy sauce is strong enough to taste the pork bone. The noodles are a bit thin and not very chewy. The chashu is a bit tough but has a good meaty texture. Rice is free. Seconds are also free. If you just order a regular ramen, you can fill up for 650 yen. It's cheap. Shall we continue to be regulars here in the future?

Cabbage ramen for 750 yen (with complimentary rice) in Hongo Sanchome... It's a bustling area with lots of charming restaurants. I saw a sign while passing by and felt like trying some home-style ramen. I've tried "Ieieie" at a different location before and had a decent impression. How does this place compare? I ordered the cabbage ramen with firm noodles and extra toppings. The complimentary rice was a nice touch. The soup was light but had a sharp flavor that went well with the rice. The thin, short noodles had a firm texture that I enjoyed. The cabbage was crunchy and satisfying for the price. There was plenty of spinach, tender chashu, and three sheets of nori. Considering the location, getting rice for free with a 750 yen bowl of ramen all day seems like a good deal. It may not be a heavy-hitting style of home ramen, but it's a nice option to enjoy the atmosphere of a student town.

I visited the restaurant called Ieieie in Hongo Sanchome for the first time in a while! This place offers free rice, and you can choose the amount of rice you want, which is a great feature of the restaurant. I had a craving for rice topped with nori soaked in soup, so I ordered the Nori Tamago Ramen. I asked for a normal portion of rice! Even though I know it's better to go easy on the rice since I'm getting older, I can't resist... I bought a ticket, took a seat at the counter, and was asked for my preferences right away. I always ask for firm noodles. And within a few minutes, my ramen was served! I enjoyed the rich soup characteristic of the house style, slurped up the noodles, and then took a bite of rice. Mmm, this is it ☺️ Next, I soaked the nori in the soup, placed it on top of the rice, and added the pickled cucumber provided at the counter. I then topped it with the moistened nori on the rice and took a bite. And then, I savored the pickled cucumber. Ahh, this is it after all, rice is a must with house-style ramen‼️Thank you for the meal.

As of June 2020, there is a ramen restaurant where you can smoke. The ramen is delicious. However, the smell of cigarettes is unavoidable. Even though there is a designated smoking area, it is not enclosed properly, so the smoke leaks out. When people smoke, the restaurant is filled with the smell of cigarettes, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. Additionally, there is a lack of pickles and table seasonings, so depending on where you sit, they may be out of reach. It is necessary to check the accessibility of pickles and seasonings before sitting down, otherwise it can be difficult to reach them while considering other customers. The restaurant lacks consideration as a space for dining. The taste is delicious and I would like to eat there again, but it can be a terrible experience when people smoke, and it is impossible to fully enjoy the meal when sitting in a seat where pickles and seasonings are hard to reach. I thought that smoking would be prohibited after the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's passive smoking prevention ordinance in April 2020, but the restaurant still allows smoking. In terms of taste alone, I would rate it 3.5. However, personally, I realized that I cannot enjoy dining at a restaurant where smoking is allowed during lunchtime. Thank you for the meal.

When it comes to the family ramen in Hongo Sanchome, it's either "Hongoke," "Matsudake," or "Ieieie." Unfortunately, Matsudake has closed down, so it's between Hongoke and Ieieie. Since Hongoke is often closed on Saturdays, I decided to go to Ieieie. The restaurant has a counter in a U-shape layout. I bought a food ticket and took a seat. There are various types of ramen available, but I decided to go with the standard one. A few minutes later, it arrived. It was quite strong! The noodles were normal, but the broth, fat, and flavor were all very intense, even for a standard order. Even with free rice, it was a bit tough to handle. I had to use the rice to balance out the intensity of the soup. I'm not sure if I'll visit again... probably not.

- Menu: Nori-dama ramen (medium thickness)
- Noodles: Slightly thinner for a house-style ramen
- Soup: Rich and satisfying
- Price: 950 yen, with convenient location
- Portion size: Average
- Accessibility by car: Not recommended to drive there
- Overall: Being in a student area, the free rice refill is a big plus. This review is based on my personal opinion.

"I had been eyeing this ramen shop for a while, known for its 'family recipe ramen' but with thin noodles. In reality, the noodles were more like 'medium-thin straight' noodles. They were quite thin for a family recipe ramen. Despite it being my first visit, I decided to go all out and order the 'everything' option due to my high expectations and extreme hunger that day. As mentioned in the description at the counter, the chicken flavor was really good and the broth was not too oily. This allowed me to finish the entire bowl without stopping. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Thank you. The topping of 'white negi' initially seemed a bit sparse, but the kitchen staff noticed and kindly brought out a larger portion, about 1.5 times the original amount. Thank you for your consideration."

In Hongo 3-chome, this station is known for its competitive ramen shops, but I really wanted to eat a tonkotsu ramen so I visited this place. I ordered the spinach extra ramen for 750 yen because I wanted to eat some vegetables. The fact that you can get free rice refills made me very happy. Good value for money. I ordered the soup to be normal, but it was a bit light, so it might be better to ask for it to be stronger. The noodles didn't have the typical tonkotsu style, but overall, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
