I always think, "Why not change the name of the street?" but it's not that simple. The intersection at the east exit of Ikebukuro, the road with a lot of foot traffic between this store and Lotteria, used to be called the road to Tokyu Hands, but our generation knows it as "60th Floor Street," and now it's called "Sunshine 60 Street." However, despite this, the majority of people mistakenly refer to this road as "Sunshine Street." "Sunshine Street" is actually a completely different street, but many people clearly remember it wrong and call it that. Even a quick search on the internet shows people referring to this store's location as "the entrance of Sunshine Street" or "the corner of Green Avenue and Sunshine Street," creating corners of two roads that should not intersect. For those who know the correct name, it just feels wrong. As a local in Ikebukuro, I no longer have the intention to point out the mistakes loudly. Rather, I think that the system that has created a situation prone to mistakes is the problem. I feel like it's a "first come, first served" kind of mindset. I understand the need to protect patents and trademarks, but I think it's more serious that there are no solutions to the current situation filled with errors. In this day and age, it's easy to communicate even when you're out with cell phones and smartphones, but it wasn't like that in the past. I know of a person whose love ended and life changed because a couple who were supposed to meet at the entrance of Sunshine Street couldn't find each other. Now, about this store. This store is located at the entrance of "Sunshine 60 Street." It used to be a cafe or Italian restaurant called "SPAZIO." The second floor's "Milky Way" is more famous. Personally, I didn't have much connection with either of them. I've visited the second floor's "Miyagino" a few times though. This store is part of the chain bakery "Little Mermaid," belonging to the same group. I tried the "Iced Cafe Latte" (460 yen) + "Croissant" (242 yen) + "Salted Butter Bread" (165 yen) - as shown in the photo. I thought the coffee flavor of the Iced Cafe Latte was delicious. It had a deep bitterness and a solid core. The Croissant was of the soft type. Some people say it's "unacceptable" because it's not crispy, but it used to be the mainstream. However, I felt the wheat flavor, butteriness, and saltiness were weak. The Salted Butter Bread was warmed up. It wasn't hollow like a Viennoiserie, but the dough was fluffy inside. This also felt lacking in salt, butter, and far from the wheat flavor. But, there was something about it that was strangely appealing. After finishing it, I pondered for a while, but my senses faded just before reaching a conclusion. And yet, I foolishly went to buy one more. I had it warmed up again. Flipping it over, it had a quite oily appearance. However, it didn't directly translate to a buttery taste. Eating it by tearing it with my hands, I thought it was somewhat like a brioche. Despite its mild sweetness and flavor, the fluffy texture was pleasant. Yes, I think this kind of bread is also good. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
