Recently, I have been visiting this restaurant for lunch quite often. Although I have visited a few times for lunch and dinner over 10 years ago, this is my first visit since I started writing on Tabelog. The restaurant is located in the new building of Shinjuku Washington Hotel. However, there is no direct access from inside the hotel, you have to enter from outside. The exterior of the restaurant has small windows and a door, with barrels that could serve as tables placed outside. During lunchtime, there is a signboard with the lunch menu displayed outside. There are no steps at the entrance, but there are a couple of low steps in the approach area in the front (without handrails). The menu includes daily specials, two regular dishes, and two pasta options for lunch. During lunch, you can have unlimited rice and coffee for an additional 100 yen per cup. The staff actively offer rice refills and come to refill water frequently. The service is great, the food is delicious, and although it can get crowded during lunchtime, the turnover rate is good, so I highly recommend it. - Taste Evaluation - The daily lunch plate allows you to enjoy two different flavors, which is great. Even though it changes daily, they provide quite elaborate dishes, which is nice. Unlimited rice, delicious food, what more can you ask for? Dry Curry It's a new menu item at the restaurant, introduced this year. It's a keema curry type, with curry served on top of rice. Onion fry and parsley are sprinkled on top of the curry. Served with quail egg, pickles, and potato fries on the side. The taste is spicy and slightly hot, but just the right amount and very tasty. Hamburger Steak A hearty and meaty hamburger steak with finely chopped meat, tender and delicious. It's plump, thick, and has a good volume. The sauce is classic, but the onion fry on top does a great job. Broccoli and potato fries are the side dishes. Overall, all the dishes are delicious, filling, and I think even men will be satisfied. With good service from the staff, I highly recommend this as a go-to lunch spot.
