This is a counter-style dining place where you can enjoy clay pot rice. The highlight is ordering the clay pot rice, but it takes time to cook, so I ordered the Tamago Kake Gohan (980 yen) and upgraded to Tonjiru for an additional fee. I came to this restaurant because I really wanted to eat delicious rice, and they are particular about the rice and cooking method, so it was really delicious and satisfying. I was unsure what to order, but the Tonjiru was recommended as it is popular among customers. It was the right choice. The vegetables were incredibly delicious, especially the burdock root was amazingly tasty. I was moved by the taste of the burdock root, which is a first for me (lol). The Tamago Kake Gohan was also delicious with plenty of ingredients. Next time, I want to challenge the clay pot rice.

I usually eat very little, but when freshly cooked rice, delicious side dishes, and furikake are served, I can't help but eat. I end up eating too much, but I feel satisfied. It's a good place to enjoy a quick meal, even though there are people shopping behind the counter, so it's a bit distracting.

I found this restaurant on the 2nd floor of Tokyu Plaza in Shibuya when I missed lunch and it was already past 3 pm. The cafe was crowded, so I decided to give this place a try. They had several rice bowl options and rice sets available. I decided to change the miso soup to a hearty pork soup for an additional 580 yen and ordered the chicken rice bowl with it. I also ordered a side dish of pumpkin and sweet potato. The pork soup was visually appealing with lots of ingredients, including large pieces of burdock. The chicken rice bowl was like a parent and child bowl with plenty of green vegetables. It also came with Setouchi lemon and nam pla sauce, which was a nice touch. The pumpkin and sweet potato dish was delicious with recommended smoked soy sauce. I ate my fill and the prices were a bit on the higher side, but it's convenient to have a place like this anytime.

I visited Shibuya to go to the famous "Katsuo Shokudo," but unfortunately they were sold out for lunch, so I ended up coming to this restaurant. The restaurant is located inside Tokyu Plaza, with a row of counter seats. It was quite crowded during lunchtime. I ordered the Clay Pot Rice Set for 1900 yen. The rice was indeed delicious, fluffy and paired well with the grilled salmon. However, considering the price, the amount and variety of side dishes were lacking. In this price range, reducing the amount of rice slightly and adding more side dishes would likely make it more popular.

The counter-only setting was very clean and I was able to enjoy my meal in a calm atmosphere. The Kagurazaka location didn't have hot tea, so I was happy that the Shibuya location did. The roasted green tea was delicious and I ended up buying some on my way out. The food was also very tasty and I would love to go back again.

Today's luxurious lunch was the Clay Pot Rice Set Meal for 1900 yen, where you can choose between meat and fish. The clay pot rice comes with large portions of ingredients, a hearty miso soup, salted fish roe, and pickled vegetables, all of which are meticulously prepared and deliciously gentle in flavor. While it may be a bit pricey for lunch, the cozy counter seating makes it a great choice for those looking to enjoy a leisurely meal alone. The rice portion is quite generous, enough for two people, and if there are leftovers, they will pack it up for you to take home. The staff's demeanor was also pleasant, making it a truly relaxing lunch experience.

I went in because it seemed like it had been renovated recently. It's a stylish restaurant. The food was delicious! Oh, by the way, the miso soup ingredients... it seemed like they were served right after hot water was added, so the dried ingredients remained hard.

Acomeya in Tokyu Plaza Shibuya. They also have a branch in Kagurazaka. It's delicious and seems good for your health, but at over 1,500 yen, it's a bit expensive for a lunch set. The crispiness of the seaweed is extraordinary. The aroma of seaweed from Ariake Sea and bonito flakes from Kagoshima spreads throughout your mouth. Pour it generously over warm rice, and you can eat as many bowls as you want. It's an elegant, gentle, and delicious meal that makes you happy. The fact that most of the customers are women makes sense.

I came here at a random time when I was feeling a bit hungry. I decided to have something light to eat. The egg over rice dish was good, especially because it came with a sauce for added flavor. The majority of customers here are women. It's a great place to have a quick meal alone. They also offer onigiri for takeout.

When it comes to Akomeya, it is a select shop with the concept of rice. Recently, they have introduced many original PB products and it feels like they have evolved into a concept shop, taking a step up as a commercial facility. I was looking for a place to have lunch in Shibuya, but many restaurants were closed due to the state of emergency. Finally, I found a restaurant inside Tokyu Plaza, which was Akomeya. I had always wanted to try Akomeya's restaurant, so I went inside. I placed my order at the register, and it was a self-service restaurant. I ordered the bonito broth cold noodles for 1540 yen. It came with the main cold noodles, a side dish of fried fish, green vegetable salad, and tofu with broth. The cold noodles were just average. The green vegetable salad was also ordinary. The fried fish had a strong fishy smell and wasn't very tasty. The tofu with broth looked like a pudding, so I thought it was a dessert and was surprised when I tried it at the end. There was no explanation, so I had assumed it was a dessert based on its appearance, which left a bad aftertaste when I realized it wasn't. My lunch companion also thought it was a dessert, so we ended up eating the tofu at the end. Akomeya may have the concept of rice, but serving this level of food with a self-service style for 1540 yen is disappointing. I had recently started to appreciate Akomeya, but I wish they hadn't opened a restaurant like this. Very disappointing.

At Akomeya in Shibuya Tokyu Plaza, I tried the "Dorayaki Pancake with Strawberry and Azuki Bean" dish. It consisted of a dorayaki pancake made with rice flour, topped with fresh strawberries, strawberry compote, azuki bean paste, cream cheese ice cream, and white balls from "Shiratamaya Shinshaburo" in Kumamoto prefecture. The pancake had a traditional Japanese twist and was delicious, with a rich flavor of black tea.

I visited for dinner. I shared oyster fry and curry. The multigrain rice was chewy and delicious, and the miso soup was so tasty that I had seconds. The menu was well-balanced, and the open kitchen gave a warm feeling that each dish was made with care. Many people were dining alone and seemed relaxed. I found a wonderful restaurant and would like to visit again next time. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant around 1pm on a Saturday in early January. It is located on the 2nd floor of Tokyu Plaza Shibuya, just a short walk from Shibuya Station. The interior is self-service with plenty of seating, making it easy for a woman to dine alone. The counter seats next to the store can also be used for charging, which is convenient. First, I secured a seat and placed my order. I ordered the recommended dish of Shimanto chicken and vegetable with black vinegar sauce set meal. You can choose between white rice and mixed grain rice, and rice and miso soup are free refills. It seems like you can also order side dishes separately, similar to Ootoya. In less than 5 minutes, my number was called and I went to get my rice. The meal included rice, miso soup, three side dishes, and three small appetizers, all with gentle flavors that complement the main dishes. I thought one of the dishes was pudding, but it turned out to be chawanmushi. The black vinegar sauce was not too strong, and the meat and vegetables were well balanced and delicious until the end. The portion was generous, making it an ideal place to enjoy a well-balanced meal. I would like to visit again.

I visited this dining hall on the first floor of Tokyu Plaza around 2 pm on a weekday, and there were a few customers here and there. The system was completely self-service. I ordered the Tamago Kake Gohan for 680 yen plus tax. The rice was topped with bonito flakes, green onions, sesame seeds, and dried seaweed. The egg was served separately with the sauce for Tamago Kake Gohan. It also came with pickles, miso soup, and homemade tofu. It was a generous portion for the price. The rice was a bit firm, but overall, it was very delicious.

I visited for lunch. When the automatic door opened, it was a bit cold, so I chose a seat away from the door. I ordered the recommended dish, the "Shimanto chicken and vegetable with black vinegar sauce set" for 1,350 yen. The set includes various items like the main dish, rice (you can choose from mixed grain or white rice), miso soup, pickles, side dish, and tofu. The black vinegar sauce was delicious and the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The rice was amazing, cooked in a special kiln, shiny and chewy, it was so good that it could be eaten on its own. Both the mixed grain and white rice were delicious in their own way. The tofu looked like pudding, smooth and sweet. The portion was generous and satisfying. I was surprised by how delicious the food was at the restaurant connected to the store where I had shopped before. I will definitely visit again when I crave Japanese food.

Once again, Tokyu Plaza. But this time, it's not the 6th floor, it's the 2nd floor. It's a cafeteria where you can enjoy Japanese set meals with a shop attached. First, you choose your seat and pay. They will inform you with a number, and you go pick up your order. Water and tea are self-service. On this day, I had the following (tax included): - Yuzu Chicken and Vegetable Black Vinegar Set Meal 1485 yen You can choose between white rice or mixed grain rice, and I chose mixed grain rice. It comes with miso soup, a side dish, homemade tofu, and homemade pickles. The yuzu chicken tempura with colorful vegetables and special black vinegar sauce was really delicious. When I first saw the homemade tofu, I thought it was pudding (lol). You can have seconds of rice and miso soup, but the tables and the kitchen are far apart, and the staff are not walking around, so I hesitated to go all the way there to ask. The calm atmosphere makes it easy to dine alone, and it's rare to find a place where you can enjoy delicious Japanese set meals, so I would like to visit again.

Located just outside the West Exit, right across the pedestrian bridge, on the 2nd floor of Tokyu Plaza is a restaurant that specializes in rice-based set meals. Despite the odd time of 4:30 pm, the place was about 80-90% full. You grab a reservation card at the entrance, secure your seat, then head to the counter to place your order. Once your food is ready, your receipt number will be displayed on a panel in the restaurant, and you go back to the counter to pick up your order. Self-serve tea and water are available. I tried the "Yuzu Chicken and Vegetables in Black Vinegar Sauce Set Meal" for 1485 yen. The miso soup and rice are refillable, with a choice of white or mixed grain rice. The daily side dish was red core radish and wasabi leaf ohitashi. The main dish's black vinegar sauce had a strong, distinctive aroma. The Yuzu chicken was served with eggplant, eringi mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, and plenty of vegetables. The balance was good, and it felt guilt-free to eat. The tofu in the dashi sauce was smooth and delicious. The restaurant had a diverse clientele, including groups of women, solo diners enjoying sake, and salarymen stopping by after work. It's a place that appeals to everyone, regardless of age or gender.

I visited the restaurant after seeing it on an online news site for its sweets, but ended up having lunch instead. I chose my seat by placing a table card in front of the curtain, then went to the counter to place my order and pay. The restaurant used to have a touch panel system for ordering before COVID, as seen in photos. The spacious interior had various seating options, including large tables for 6 and 10 people, bench seating for 4, a table for 2, and a counter with high chairs for 3. After preparing my own tea, I waited for my order and when my number was called out on the receipt, I picked it up. I had the daily grilled fish set meal for 1350 yen, which on that day was silver salmon with Saikyo miso, served with sautéed shiitake mushrooms and fried lion's head chili. The grated daikon with shiba-zuke mixed in was a nice touch, and I also enjoyed the sesame-dressed komatsuna salad, homemade tofu with sauce, miso soup with nori and wheat gluten, and pickles (cucumber, carrot, and daikon). I opted for multigrain rice and sprinkled sesame and almonds on the side. Rice and miso soup were free for refills. The staff was friendly and efficient. Overall, I was satisfied with the comforting meal at this conveniently located restaurant and would like to visit the Ginza branch as well.

Hidden behind the shadows of Shibuya Stream and Scramble Square, "Shibuya Fukurasu" opened at the end of 2019, where AKOMEYATOKYO, known for their various initiatives involving rice, has opened a shop. Surprisingly, there is a restaurant where you can dine in as well. "AKOMEYA Shokudo" opened on December 5, 2019. The spacious and high-ceilinged atmosphere is quite pleasant. They pay attention to the quality of rice as well. In fact, AKOMEYATOKYO has been focusing on curry lately, even collaborating with the famous "Spice Cafe" in Oshiage to develop retort curry using Japanese ingredients. This "AKOMEYA Shokudo" also offers interesting curry dishes. The "Keema Curry Gozen" for ¥1250 + tax is truly wonderful. It is a Gozen-style dish with Keema curry served alongside traditional Japanese side dishes. The Keema curry is supervised by "Spice Cafe", which adds a unique touch that pairs well with the fluffy Japanese rice. Moreover, the large-cut deep-fried vegetables are incredibly delicious. They harmonize well with the dish, whether it's as a tempura dish like Tendon that complements the rice or as a Bhaji (Indian tempura) that matches the spiced curry. The satisfaction of enjoying the high-quality side dishes is truly remarkable. The self-service tea is also unlimited, which is a unique feature of a Japanese dining experience. It was a delightful lunch that made me realize how nice it is to enjoy curry in a Japanese dining setting. Still, this place remains a hidden gem for lunch in Shibuya, don't you think?
