黒毛和牛太
This is an izakaya near Yushima Tenjin, in what is known as Tenjinbashi. The restaurant name caught my attention, suggesting confidence in their rice and wine. I decided to stop by for lunch after shopping. The main menu item is rice balls, with limited special dishes available. As a seafood lover, I chose the seafood chirashi bowl without hesitation. While waiting, I noticed some elderly customers who seemed to be regulars, all ordering rice balls. So I decided to add a rice ball to my order as well. The dishes arrived, consisting of the seafood chirashi bowl, two side dishes, a hearty miso soup, and pickles. The side dishes were spinach with fried tofu and simmered hijiki seaweed, both delicious. The miso soup was filled with various ingredients. The seafood chirashi bowl had a variety of toppings, including tuna, egg, flying fish roe, cucumber, pickled ginger, and shiso leaves. Although there were no standout ingredients, it was overall delicious. I also ordered a rice ball with Koshi-zuka corned beef, which was made with high-quality rice, top-grade seaweed, and natural sea salt. The corned beef was delicious, but I felt the rice ball could have had a stronger flavor. Overall, the food was tasty but perhaps relied too much on the ingredients rather than the seasoning. The restaurant also offers a selection of wines, sake, and shochu. I left with a feeling that this place is a hidden gem, offering healthy and delicious dishes.
