Thick and satisfying. There was a line. I waited a bit to order. Be careful not to overeat as I am trying to lose weight. I ordered the Mega Max Char Siu Donburi and fried rice. I paid and waited. People kept coming one after another. Even in the scorching sun, people kept coming and lining up. Everyone was so determined. They also sell bento boxes at the storefront. After waiting for about 10 minutes, it was ready. When I tried it, the Char Siu Donburi had slightly thinner slices of Char Siu, but there were plenty of them so I was satisfied. The sauce had a strong fish flavor, which complemented the Char Siu and rice well. Underneath the Char Siu, there were bean sprouts and cabbage. The sauce and oil from the Char Siu mixed together and tasted delicious. There was also a piece of fried chicken. It was crispy and hot. The flavor was mild and easy to eat, a taste that everyone enjoys. Now, while it's still hot, I gulped it down. There was still a lot left. I finished the delicious Mega Max Char Siu Donburi and fried rice. I will definitely go back. Thank you for the delicious bento.

I purchased a bento box for lunch to eat on the train, as I had about an hour of travel time. - Store: There were many bento boxes displayed at the storefront. - Order: There were various options, but I chose a mackerel bento box, which I love. - Taste: The mackerel was fried and had a nice crispy texture, which paired well with the rice. It also came with skewered cutlets. - Impressions: The fact that you can get a free upgrade to a larger portion of rice is great in terms of cost performance. I ate heartily and felt satisfied. I would like to try it again when working from home, etc.

I visited a bento shop called Bentosha Tokiwa located in Iwamotocho 1-chome, along Suitengu Shrine Street in Higashi-Kanda. They open at 6 am and offer a variety of bentos starting from 500 yen. They do not offer delivery for orders of 3 items or less placed via phone. They can make up to 500 bentos. I tried the Soy Sauce Karaage Bento for 550 yen. The karaage pieces were large and flavorful, served with lettuce and plenty of mayonnaise. The bento also came with a complimentary miso soup, which was hot and satisfying. I enjoyed my meal at the nearby Tosho Park, which has historical significance as the site of the former Denma-cho Prison during the Edo period.

Fried chicken bento box with soy sauce flavor, extra-large size (550 yen). I bought lunch for teleworking near Iwamotocho. There are many cheap bento shops around this area, befitting a business district. Today, I decided to try "Bento-ya in Higashi-Kanda" which had good reviews on Google. When I arrived around noon, there were a lot of pre-made bento boxes displayed outside the shop. The fried chicken bento I wanted was not among them, apparently they make it fresh when you order. The pre-made boxes are priced lower to cater to the "cheap and quick" demand, while the made-to-order ones are priced higher for those who want a hot meal, it seems. I asked the man at the shop for the soy sauce flavored fried chicken bento with extra rice. After a short wait, I received a heavy bag and paid with PayPay. Let's see what's inside. The rice was overflowing, probably around 350g instead of the usual 200g. And the fried chicken was huge! There were five pieces, each weighing around 80-100g. The side had plenty of spicy mayonnaise. It was a hardcore, hearty meal, perfect for laborers. I took a bite of the fried chicken, it was flavorful and the portion size was satisfying. The chicken was juicy with a firm texture, marinated in a strong soy sauce, ginger, and garlic mix. The coating was thick and crunchy, absorbing a lot of oil, making it quite heavy. The flavor was a bit one-dimensional, so dipping it in the generous amount of mayonnaise added a nice twist. Under the fried chicken, there was a side of stir-fried spaghetti with ham, onions, and bell peppers, seasoned with salt. The rice was well-cooked, not mushy, and there was a lot of it. To finish the meal, I used my secret weapon, Marumiya "Gomashio" seasoning. Despite feeling a bit greasy towards the end, I managed to finish the meal, feeling very full. I didn't feel hungry again until dinner. Overall, it was a hardcore, jumbo fried chicken bento from a great shop. Despite the excess oil, it was a good value for the price and quite tasty. I even got a stamp card for a free bento after collecting 10 stamps. I will definitely revisit for their delicious bowl dishes.

I saw this place during lunch and was curious, so I stopped by around 6pm on my way back from work. They were serving Taiwanese Lu Rou Fan for 500 yen. The braised pork and daikon were well seasoned and went perfectly with the rice. The meat was tender and you could really dig into it, very satisfying. The portion was generous with plenty of rice packed in. I believe they also sell bento boxes with good volume for 500 yen during lunchtime. The bento on the left in the picture was 380 yen!

Beef stamina bowl - premium size. 1200 yen. The regular stamina bowl in a regular size costs 600 yen and has a decent amount, so the cost performance is not bad. The garlic smell increases appetite and is suitable for those who prefer quantity over quality.

A bento shop located about 150 meters from the Kodemma-cho Station on Ningyocho Street towards Iwamoto-cho. They sell their bentos on display at the storefront and tables. The back of the shop is like a bento factory, with young Southeast Asian women working hard. You can order on the spot from the menu, which offers a lineup of bentos that are a bit different. The dishes have a substantial volume. They also have stir-fried pork and vegetables bento (500 yen) on the menu. It took about 5 minutes for them to prepare it on the spot. The bento comes with separate rice and side dishes. You can choose between white rice and takana rice, and I chose takana rice. They also offer free self-service soup. Today's soup was miso soup with eggplant as the main ingredient. The stir-fried pork and vegetables had a generous portion, almost like what you would get at a Chinese restaurant. The vegetables were still crunchy, which was nice. It had plenty of pork in it, making it a satisfying bento. There was a small sunny-side-up egg on top. When I broke it, the yolk oozed out. The takana rice was also substantial, and you could even get a free extra-large portion. It's great that you can customize your bento. The deal of 3 shrimp tempura for 180 yen is very cost-effective.
