In Ikebukuro, we went to "PIZZA BORSA" for pizza. The restaurant itself has a compact and cozy atmosphere like a casual Italian eatery. You can see the pizza oven from any seat in the restaurant. There are two pizza makers, and it takes about 5 minutes to bake a pizza. The oven is extremely hot, so without skill, the pizza can quickly burn. Creating a nice charred crust and making it look enticing is part of the pizza maker's skill. We ordered appetizers of prosciutto, salami, fried shrimp, and squid. The bill came out to be surprisingly affordable at 1,000 yen for a Margherita pizza about 25 cm in diameter. The crust was thin, chewy, and crispy, with a perfect combination of charred bitterness, salty cheese, tangy tomato sauce, and fresh basil. The rough cutting style also added to the authentic feel. We also tried the Salsiccia pizza, which had a stronger flavor of red onions than the sausage. With two pizzas, appetizers, beer, and wine, we left satisfied and full for around 5,000 yen per person. In the back, there is a large black pizza oven with flames blazing inside. Since the seating was busy, I quickly placed my order for a Bismarck pizza (1400 yen) and waited at my table. The pizza arrived promptly, a sign of a good pizza place. I took a bite and the creamy egg topping was delicious. The cheese and soft dough blended perfectly, with flavorful cheese and melt-in-your-mouth dough. The egg, ham, cheese, and mushrooms all came together harmoniously in my mouth. The crispy crust was the finishing touch. It was delicious! I finished it in no time and felt very satisfied. I paid with a credit card and the staff were polite and cheerful, which I appreciated. When I called to make a reservation for a Saturday night, they told me that the time slots until 8 pm on weekends are booked 2-3 weeks in advance due to the restaurant's popularity. Even after entering the restaurant, walk-in customers without reservations were turned away, so reservations are a must! I ordered the Bismarck and Napoletana pizzas, along with chicken liver crostini and shrimp and squid fritto as sides. Everything was delicious! The Napoletana pizza with anchovies and garlic had a salty flavor that paired well with drinks. The chicken liver crostini had no unpleasant odor, was sweet, rich, and absolutely delicious. It seems like you can go without a reservation on weekdays or during lunchtime. I would love to visit this place again. The menu seems a bit limited for a pizza specialty shop, but the cost performance is excellent!

I love it so much that I get withdrawal symptoms. It's my favorite. The first time in the late shift, the previous shift was no good, so I couldn't resist being there. I arrived a little later. Yes, it's fine! Since my university room was freezing, I could have even sat outside. I like to show off a bit. It's been a while, so I'll go with the C set. I had been curious about the 1000 yen lunch (Margherita pizza, salad without tomatoes) and finally went around 2 PM. It was my first time at that pizza place, but it was delicious. The crust was especially tasty. It seems they only accept cash for lunch.

It's even more popular than when I was a student working part-time, which makes me happy. The terrace seats are available and recommended if you don't mind. It's a hidden gem because you don't need a reservation for those seats (laughs). Only about 1/8 of the customers sit inside, and I love the terrace seats. Watching people pass by with a pizza in one hand and a wine glass in the other is the best! You can also enjoy pizza for a light meal or drinks for a second round. The inside of the restaurant was full, but they prepared a terrace seat for us. - Heartland draft beer x2 for 660 yen each - Sparkling wine G for 550 yen - Chichinierri for 1,430 yen: Tomato base, whitebait - Bismarck for 1,760 yen: Cheese base, mozzarella, ham, mushrooms, egg ★ Asked for spicy oil (chili olive oil) and it was quite spicy! It was our second stop but we enjoyed it and ended up eating 2 slices. I think I prefer the tomato base. I don't really understand the specifics, but this was the most delicious pizza I've ever had! I have always wanted to try this restaurant. It is a well-established place that has been selected as one of the top 100 pizza shops. The weekday lunch set is very reasonable, you can enjoy pizza lunch for only 1000 yen. Since you cannot make a reservation for weekday lunch, it is recommended to go about 20 minutes before opening. This time, I chose a lunch set where you can choose from 4 types of pizza. I chose a pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, anchovies, and olives on top. It was great to see the pizza being made right in front of me at the counter. It was very nice to be able to eat it freshly made right away! The crust of the pizza was very chewy and slightly salty, which was delicious! The dough was incredibly tasty! The center was very thin, which I also like, with plenty of cheese, the umami and saltiness of anchovies, and the perfect acidity of the tomato sauce. It was so delicious that I couldn't help but whisper "delicious" as soon as I took a bite. Among the pizza shops in Tokyo, in terms of cost performance and taste, it ranks in the top 3. A pizza restaurant located a short walk from Ikebukuro Station. I ordered pizza inside the restaurant and ate at a window seat facing the street, where I could see a Mexican restaurant across the way. The food was served in about 20 minutes. The restaurant has a foreign dining atmosphere, perfect for a date with couples spotted here and there. Of course, it's also suitable for dining with friends. I chose the Bismarck and Quattro Formaggi pizzas. Both had a soft, salt-based crust that was enjoyable and not too heavy. The Quattro pizza can be topped with honey, which enhances the flavor of the cheese. For dessert, I ordered the tiramisu, which was also delicious. The service was good, and the prices were reasonable. The total cost for 2 pizzas, 3 drinks, and 2 desserts was around 7000 yen.

It made me even more excited, thinking that the restaurant must be very popular. The narrow restaurant was always full, and from the counter, I could see the pizza being made up close. I ordered Margherita and Bismarck pizzas, toasted with a Heartland beer. The service was quick, the prices were reasonable, and the taste was great. I definitely want to visit again!

You can reach C3 near the Rikkyo University entrance at the west exit of Ikebukuro Station. The area around the university offers great value for money. You can enjoy authentic wood-fired pizza for around 1000 yen. While the Margherita pizza is delicious in a classic way, the Bismarck pizza is even tastier than the award-winning one I had before. The chicken liver crostini is dangerously good at around 500 yen... They also have tripe on the menu... It really brings Italy to life. Personally, I think this pizzeria is amazing, so I definitely want to make a dinner reservation in Ikebukuro next time.

Today, I visited the pizza restaurant 'PIZZA BORSA' to celebrate my sister's birthday. The restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station West Exit. Despite arriving 15 minutes before opening, there was already a long line. The weather was hot, but we decided to wait. After waiting for about 40 minutes, we finally got a table. We ordered the B set which comes with salad, peach tea, dessert, and a drink. I chose the Marinara pizza while my sister chose Margherita. The Margherita pizza was served first, followed by the Marinara. The Margherita was delicious with a perfect blend of cheese, tomato, and olive oil on a chewy crust. The Marinara had a strong garlic flavor with a generous amount of olive oil. Both pizzas were fantastic. We also enjoyed peach pound cake and coffee for dessert. The service was excellent, and the overall experience was great. I highly recommend this place for both special occasions and casual dining.

Even though it was a weekday afternoon, by 12:20 there were already 4 groups waiting. I waited for about 20 minutes before getting a seat. The lunch set includes peach tea, salad, and pizza (you can choose from 4 types, all the same price) for 1,000 yen. You can add dessert or coffee to increase the price. Since I was dining alone, I was seated at the counter. It was a great seat where I could watch the pizza being made. I ordered the Siciliana pizza. The anchovy flavor was delicious, and there was plenty of mozzarella. It was really tasty! However, I was so full afterwards... honestly, I could have been fine with just half of it (laughs). The weekday lunch here starts at 1,000 yen. You can choose from Margherita, Marinara, and two daily specials for pizza. For 1,000 yen, you get a pizza, salad, and peach tea. I ordered the Margherita, and the dough was delicious! The saltiness was just right! Very satisfied for 1,000 yen. Ikebukuro's only Pizza Hyakumeiten. Delicious pizza from Hyakumeiten with salad and peach tea included (tax included) starting from 1,000 yen! Visited on Tuesday at 11:15, with a line of 8 people. I decided to come right after the opening time today because the line was long the other day, but the opening time was 11:30. Well, it's cloudy today, so I thought I could get in quickly with this number of people. However, the humidity was high and it was hot and humid due to the typhoon affecting Kyushu. I arrived 15 minutes early, which turned out to be the right decision as the line has gotten longer. By the way, it seems that it is not prohibited to line up before everyone in your group arrives. Both the person in front of me and behind me were alone, but both had friends join them later in line. It was okay this time, but this can sometimes lead to trouble with customers aiming for a second round behind. In the end, two people also got in front of me, but I was able to enter right after opening, so arriving early was the best decision! There are three counter seats, but it seems to be for up to two people only. The interior has 7 two-seater tables and 3 counter seats, but as mentioned earlier, there are probably only seats for two at the counter. First, tea and salad arrived quickly. When I started drinking the tea, it was sweet... I thought it was the iced tea for after the meal, but it turned out to be the peach tea that comes with the set. The salad had a good amount of vegetables, which was nice! You can get plenty of vegetables. The pizza arrived in 7-8 minutes from the salad. The pizza had a thin crust with a firm outer edge, and it was delicious with the cheese, fried eggplant, and prosciutto toppings. You can also taste the saltiness on the bottom of the crust. As soon as I finished the pizza, dessert and iced tea arrived. The dessert was a pear cake. I was asked if I wanted milk gum syrup, so I asked for just milk and also requested water while waiting because I had sweated a lot. The milk was poured generously into a pitcher, and I used it all. The pear fruit cake was a small size, so I finished it first and then drank the iced tea. After that, I paid the bill. The bill was 1,280 yen tax included, and since it was cash only, I paid in cash. I was sitting right next to the cash register, so I was able to pay right there, so I couldn't tell if it was table payment or cash register payment. I ordered the dessert and drink set, but since there were no other solo customers, the customer without dessert and drink was chatting, and I was the first to pay and leave among those who entered in the first round. So, for those who couldn't get in during the first round, the wait was 40 minutes. If you can't get in before the opening, please consider this as a reference.
