及第クレーマー
On the eagerly awaited first day of our Tokyo expedition on March 17, Reiwa 5th year (Friday), towards the end --- I always carried a spare digital camera in my shoulder bag with the belief that it could break at any time. This time, my fears became a reality, as my beloved camera became unable to record from the middle of the Chinese restaurant onwards. So, I confidently told my wife, "See, now you understand the importance of having a spare!" But in reality, I had hardly used the new digital camera, and I didn't know how to set it up or operate it properly. I tried to take pictures by trial and error, but most of them turned out blurry, exposing me as a country bumpkin! I deeply apologize that all the photos in the upcoming 10 or so reviews will be of the same quality or worse.
Near our hotel, we found a St. Marc Café, which we often visit in Osaka. Although it's not my favorite in Osaka, I didn't have the energy to look for another place after my camera troubles. So, we decided to enter!
Our order consisted of Strawberry Souffle Pancake (Single) for 900 yen (including tax) and 2 Hot Coffees for 450 yen each.
As I struggled with the camera and couldn't focus on eating, the division of the sweets into two portions, which my wife absolutely should not have done, only added to my frustration. I took multiple photos of the dessert as a whole, checked the quality, took more photos, checked again, and repeated this process multiple times. How many times did I do it? I lost count. Unfortunately, I couldn't take photos of the exterior and interior of the shop here, but apart from the menu, I managed to get an "acceptable" level of photos.
As for the Souffle Pancake, I could tell it was delicious even though I was stressed. However, I don't quite remember the taste of the coffee, which I think was just a means to wash down the pancake. It was nice of the young waitress to make both coffees part of the pancake set drink! Thank you for the meal.
