I had thought that even though the tapioca boom had passed, the place would still be crowded, but I finally decided to try it out. Ordering through mobile was really convenient. I could choose the sweetness level, amount of ice, and toppings. The toppings were not just tapioca, but also nata de coco and jelly. There were so many types of tea to choose from that I was indecisive. It can be stressful and rushed at the register. Mobile ordering is the best. So, I chose a milk tea made with Alishan tea, and added tapioca. It was really delicious. The tea flavor was strong, and the tapioca was big and satisfying to drink. For the first mobile order, you get a free drink next time, so I will definitely use it again.

After having Chinese food for dinner, I started craving something sweet... even though it was late at night, I stopped by a tea shop. They had a limited-time offer of new tea leaf matcha, so I ordered it. This was a delicious one. It really tasted like matcha. I would love to drink this all year round... it was really tasty.

Limited time offer Shine Muscat! When I asked the staff to shake it for me, it ended up mixing too much and didn't look very nice... I recommend telling them you want to take a picture and shaking it yourself before receiving it. The Shine Muscat jelly was delicious^^

We had a meeting at Asakusa Juuban, so I had some time to spare and decided to take a stroll around the city. Oh, there's Gong Cha! It's been a while since I had their drinks. I decided to try the Black Sugar Roasted Milk Tea (M size, 660 yen) with pearls (80 yen). It was sweet and delicious. Even though the trend may have passed, it's still a reliable and tasty dessert drink. Surprisingly, there were only foreigners other than me, perhaps due to the time of day. It's high in calories, so I can't have it too often, but it's nice to indulge once in a while.

I got hooked on tapioca after a long time, so I searched for the tapioca shop closest to Roppongi Station and ended up at this store. It had been a while since I had been to gong cha, but the staff kindly reminded me of the system. The shop was popular and there was a line. It took about 10 minutes from ordering to receiving the drinks. - Amakawa Mango Tea with Nata de Coco Topping: The Amakawa mango was a nice touch and made it delicious! Nata de Coco goes well with refreshing drinks and there was a lot of it, which was great. I hope they make it a regular item because it was so tasty. - Black Milk Tea with Pearl Topping: Consistently delicious. I thought the sweetness level was normal, but it could have been a bit sweeter. For those who like sweet drinks, maybe choosing brown sugar would be better. I feel like I'll get hooked on it again during the hot summer days!

I had the opportunity to visit Azabu-Juban, so I was all set to buy some taiyaki from the neighboring shop... But oh no, it's closed today and tomorrow unexpectedly! The nearby tapioca shop, "Gong Cha Azabu-Juban," was open though, so I decided to give it a try. I used to feel intimidated by the high number of girls there before, but not today! I ordered a small size Black Milk Tea for 520 yen, with normal sweetness, ice, and added tapioca pearls. There are only 4 seats for eating in, so I sat at the counter.

I felt like trying the seasonal limited edition Frozen Yuzu Mango Milk Tea that was promoted through LINE. I had been saving up my points diligently on rainy days for this moment! Goncha's paper point card gives you 2 points on rainy days, and at 15 points, it becomes a Wild Card. This entitles you to a free drink with up to 3 toppings! Yuzu and mango are already a great combination. What surprised me the most was the frozen milk tea. The milk tea had a slight heaviness to it, but becoming frozen made it lighter and paired well with the citrus flavors. It might even be good as a regular menu item. The toppings I chose were aloe and nata de coco. I went a bit overboard with the toppings, so I recommend moderation. I also used my points to triple the amount of tapioca, but the liquid decreased, making it more like sucking up the tapioca instead of drinking it, so be cautious.

The temporary Tapioca boom has settled down, which is actually nice because you can now enjoy it calmly. Moreover, the places that have survived are still pretty good, so it's reassuring. Goncha used to have long lines, but now you can enjoy your drink without waiting. Even without Tapioca, I love their tea so it's a good place to relax. I tried Tapioca after a long time and the chewy Tapioca in the Mild Hot drink was irresistible! It's a great environment for those who really want to drink.

Next to the famous Taiyaki shop Naniwa-ya in Asakusa, a new Gong Cha store has opened! This location seems to have a high turnover of shops, with a soft serve ice cream shop previously occupying the space. I decided to try a drink and went inside. While there were some seats for dining in, it seemed more focused on takeout orders. I opted for a takeaway drink, choosing a Jasmine Green Tea with tapioca topping. Despite ordering it with reduced sweetness, it was still quite sweet. The tapioca pearls were chewy and plentiful, so I ended up just slurping those towards the end (laughs). I also got a stamp card that can be used nationwide, with double stamps on rainy days. The Japanese Milk Tea and Brown Sugar Milk Tea series looked tempting, so I might come back on a rainy day to try them out.

Today is hot! On my way back to the parking lot, I found a Gong Cha. I was lured by the cool air inside the store, and my body automatically entered the store. The first thing that caught my eye was the crushed apple & pineapple + konjac jelly. Mmm, refreshing. The pomegranate vinegar konjac jelly slides through the straw into my mouth, followed by the apple puree. The pineapple brings a sweet and sour taste afterwards, and the soda finishes with a fizzy touch. My body temperature dropped by 5 degrees.

I ordered a milk tea in size M with toppings of tapioca (+80 yen) and nata de coco x2 (+160 yen). I asked for it to be less sweet, but it was still quite sweet, so next time I think I can do without the toppings. The location of the restaurant in Azabu-Juban is convenient and easy to access.

Gong Cha has opened. It used to be a Taiwanese sweets and tea shop called Nioke, but it quickly changed. The location is hard to spot from the intersection, which may make it difficult for business. The interior is cramped, so you can either take out, stand, or sit on a bench outside. There are outlets inside. Personally, I think Gong Cha is great because you can easily drink Alishan oolong tea. Some may say just buy a bottle of oolong tea, but there is no other place where you can quickly order a refreshing Alishan oolong tea. I never thought of putting tapioca in unsweetened tea, but it surprisingly goes well with the bitter tea and fills you up. Right now, they are distributing 100 yen coupons until March, and you can try five different drinks with a set of four coupons. I might end up going there all month.

I like Oolong tea with a hint of sweetness.
