There are four types of curry ramen at this shop, and I tried the third one today, Black Ren. It's a bit far inside Don Quijote, but it's great that they now accept cashless payments. The bowl cost less than 1000 yen and it was really delicious! This one seems to be the most popular with its sweet onion flavor and rich broth. The curry aroma is there, but it's not overpowering, making it more like ramen than curry. The taste was a bit strong, but overall, it was fantastic!

I tried the recommended curry-flavored "red" ramen at Menya Tomo, but it was disappointing. It tasted like a normal curry-flavored ramen, and I didn't find any surprising elements. I had high expectations because of the positive reviews, so I felt let down. I don't think I will visit again. If I do, I would like to try other flavors.

Yellow Company, a curry restaurant, supervised the curry ramen at this shop. There are four menu options, and I tried them all, but the Shiraren stands out as delicious! For those who weren't impressed by the other options, I highly recommend trying the Shiraren. It feels like a spicy potage with noodles, a unique and delicious dish. Eating it with the pickles adds a nice touch of sourness and spiciness. The rich spiciness of the soup is so addictive that you can't help but finish every last drop. It's guilt-free to enjoy even at night. The friendly staff and clean interior make it a place I hope will continue to thrive. It may be a bit far from the station, but with the Meguro Ward resident discount, it's quite a deal, so if you live nearby, be sure to check it out! (Photo shows with burdock topping)

Meguro-ku Aobadai. A curry ramen specialty shop located near Don Quijote and Starbucks Roastery along Yamate Street. The menu has four basic options, each with the ability to add toppings of your choice. I purchased a meal ticket first. There is a unique discount service available for those who live or work in Meguro-ku. It was lunchtime on a weekday, but it wasn't too crowded. I chose the "Beni Ren" with egg and corn as toppings, and no rice. After a short wait, my bowl of ramen arrived. They also provided a paper apron. The soup had a distinct curry flavor, but it also had a hint of ramen soup taste that blended well. The noodles were medium thickness and held up well to the curry flavor. I regretted adding extra egg, as there was already half an egg included by default. After finishing the noodles, I felt the urge to mix rice into the remaining soup. I look forward to trying that next time when I'm hungrier. Thank you for the meal.

This shop is a curry ramen specialty store produced by the famous Sapporo soup curry restaurant "Yellow Spice". I ordered the "Guren" for 1000 yen, which seems to be a spicy miso-flavored curry ramen. The soup is light orange in color and has a refreshing curry flavor. It leans towards Indian-style curry with a refreshing deliciousness. The miso flavor is subtle, and it has a taste more like a spicy curry soup with chili peppers. The noodles are thin straight noodles. It is delicious both as curry ramen and curry soup.

Ordering the soy sauce-based black lotus soup curry ramen, it feels like it's positioned as a soup curry rather than ramen. Perhaps starting with the red lotus would have been better... You can taste the spices, but it's not very spicy, so even children can eat it. It goes well with rice! However... it lacks the curry flavor, the ramen wins too much. It's more like a curry-flavored spice ramen. People who like this type of ramen would probably love it. Thank you for the meal!

Located somewhere between Naka-Meguro and Ikejiri-Ohashi, this curry ramen shop has a slightly secluded feel even though it's not far from Yamate-dori. The interior of the shop is clean, with an L-shaped counter in the front and table seating in the back. Payment is made through a touch panel system where you pay in advance, and it's convenient that you can also pay with a QR code. I chose the most standard option, the "Guren" curry ramen from the four types available: Guren, Kokuren, Hakuren, and Tenjiku. I sat at the counter and waited for about 6-7 minutes. When the ramen arrived, it had a strong spice aroma, different from the typical curry udon you find elsewhere, with a unique color, fragrance, and oiliness. It was very flavorful and had a depth that was distinctively Japanese, even though it was spicy and reminiscent of Indian curry. The chashu was tender and delicious. It's a taste that makes you want to try the other options as well. I'll definitely come back again.

I received 1,000 yen in cashback. I occasionally use it for lunch at work. It's better when you add rice at the end than the ramen itself. It's a good lunch dish, but as for ramen, it's just okay. You can really taste the deliciousness of Yellow Company's curry.

The difficulty with curry ramen is that you can choke when drinking the soup. The fried vegetables in soup curry are coated with starch, but here they are fried without it. The tonkatsu is small and round, not the typical "Dōn" style tonkatsu. Also, the onions in the achaar are large-sized.

Noodle shop Tomo, produced by a famous soup curry restaurant in Sapporo. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it. The noodles were delicious, perfectly coated in authentic soup. It's a shame that it's quite far from Naka-Meguro Station. I will definitely be coming back.

The dish was full of vegetables and delicious. There are four base flavors to choose from. The spices were strong and tasty. It seemed less spicy than before. It might have been better if it was spicier. There is also chili pepper on the table so you can adjust the spiciness.

It's about a 10-minute walk from Naka-Meguro Station. Visited in the evening with no wait. Visited after seeing the TRY Ramen Grand Prix. Ordered the Red Lotus for 1,000 yen, which combines spicy miso and Chinese herbal spices, with an additional seasoned egg for 100 yen and tomato for 100 yen. In short, it's like putting noodles in soup curry. Thank you for the meal!

#Today's Spicy Adventure■ Menya Chiren at Naka-Meguro Station 1,000 yen Extra Spicy 350 yen Spiciness Level ★★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆ (4) Stomachache Level ★★★☆☆ (3) Spicy Deliciousness Level ★★★★★ (5) Spicy adventure in Naka-Meguro! I visited Menya Chiren in Naka-Meguro. This ramen shop is known for its curry ramen supervised by the curry soup curry specialty shop "Yellow Company" featured in the 2023 Ramen Walker. I was curious about it, so I decided to check it out. I ordered the Red Lotus, a spicy miso ramen. The name of the ramen sounded cool! There were other options like Black Lotus, White Lotus, and Tenjiku, but I went for the Red Lotus with extra spiciness! The noodles were medium-thin curly noodles that paired well with the rich soup. The soup had a strong spice flavor, combining spicy miso and curry for a rich ramen experience. The pickled onions on the table balanced out the richness of the soup perfectly. The toppings included flavorful chicken chashu, chopped wood ear mushrooms, seasoned egg, and more... It was satisfying. The spiciness was just right, not overpowering the flavors. You could also add more spice with cayenne pepper on the table. Personally, I think it would be even better with vinegar and cilantro. Since it's curry ramen, it's a given that it would go well with rice (I resisted), and I'm curious about trying other items on the menu! Save this if you found it helpful. ✅

I visited the curry ramen specialty shop "Menya Tomo" located near Naka-Meguro Station and Ikejiri-Ohashi Station, around the area of Naka-Meguro Don Quijote. After shopping at Naka-Meguro Don Quijote, I casually stopped by for dinner. I ordered the "Kurenai" (spicy miso) and "Kokuren" (rich soy sauce) ramen from the latest ticket vending machine. There are also "Hakuren" (masala) and "Jukunashi Spice" (soupless spice) options available. By following them on Instagram, I received complimentary rice, so I quickly followed them and got the rice. Additionally, onion achar is also complimentary. I had the "Kokuren" ramen and enjoyed the curry spices, along with the crunchy texture of wood ear mushrooms, onions, and spinach, while slurping the noodles. Ramen with a spice curry base is quite enjoyable once in a while! Lastly, I added the rice into the soup to enjoy it like soup curry.

2022-332nd Cup (7th in December) Curry Ramen Specialty Shop Menya Tomo Address: 3-21-10 Aobadai, Meguro-ku, Tokyo, Kotani Building 1F Nearest Station: Nakameguro Station - 10 minutes on foot Closed: No regular holidays Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/menya.tomo/ -------------------------------------------------- TP 3.41 (39 reviews) Meguro Ward Rank: 57 -------------------------------------------------- Visited for the first time on a weekday night in December. This curry specialty shop is produced by the famous Sapporo Soup Curry restaurant "Yellow Spice" and received the TRY New Store Trend Award this autumn. I arrived around 7:30 PM and entered without waiting. The ticket machine is touch panel operated and accepts various cashless payments. Ordered: - Red Lotus with Meat Topping - ¥1350 - Premium Malt's Beer (small bottle) - ¥500 Total: ¥1850 Started with a toast with the Premium Malt's beer. The soup, made mainly with pork bones and chicken bones, is rich yet light, enhanced by over ten types of spices such as cumin and Sichuan pepper, mixed with red miso and gochujang. The spices bring out the umami flavor beautifully, a true representation of soup curry! The noodles, sourced from the famous Mochizuki Seimenjo in Noboribetsu, Hokkaido, are about 1.5mm thick, low hydration, medium-thin, crimped egg noodles. Surprisingly, the noodles didn't absorb the soup much, giving a unique texture when eaten as is. The "meat" mode ingredients include bacon, chicken thigh roll chashu, fried dumplings, and pork fillet cutlet, accompanied by diced onions, wood ear mushrooms, and spinach. The pickles on the table are a unique side dish characteristic of curry shops. Unlike typical soup curry where the ingredients are simmered in a thin curry soup to absorb the spices deeply, each meat ingredient here stands out individually. The harmony between the soup, noodles, and ingredients is not very strong, but the soup itself is incredibly delicious!

At Ikejiri Ohashi 2nd, there is a curry ramen restaurant called Menya Tomo in front of the Starbucks Reserve Tokyo. It offers four different types of curry ramen with a unique blend of spices. The restaurant has a stylish and clean interior with a counter and table seating. I ordered the curry ramen with a salt base and vegetable toppings. The presentation was beautiful with a variety of toppings like boiled egg, fried eggplant, fried burdock, tomato, wood ear mushrooms, and fried green beans. The soup had a strong curry spice flavor, making it difficult to taste the salt base. Overall, the dish was visually appealing but the overpowering curry spice made it hard to appreciate the other flavors. It might be better enjoyed by pouring the remaining soup over rice. If you love curry, you will likely enjoy this dish.

I have been curious about this place since it opened in February this year as I pass by Yamate Street. I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant when I was shopping at Don Quijote in Naka-Meguro. After seeing the flyers inside, I found out that this is a ramen shop that uses delicious spices supervised by Yellow Company, known for their curry. I was excited! My friend and I each chose the Red Lotus and White Lotus ramen, with the option to choose our toppings. Both were delicious, but I am curious about the Black Lotus, which seems to have a stronger kick. I will definitely try the Black Lotus next time. Naka-Meguro has many ramen shops, and it's a bit far from the station, but I hope they continue to do well.

I entered a shop that I was curious about. I purchased a meal ticket at the touch panel at the entrance. You can choose various toppings. I ordered a bowl of ramen with extra toppings. It was beautifully arranged and made me hungry. After taking a bite, I thought it was my favorite taste, and I found out that it was supervised by Yellow Company. It is said to evoke the taste of potage, but it is not too rich and easy to eat. And of course, in the end, you always want to eat rice, right? I was full and satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

First visit to a curry ramen specialty shop located in the middle of Naka-Meguro and Ikejiri-Ohashi. The shop is conveniently located in front of the Tokyu bus stop "Sugakari Elementary School." Visited during evening hours. The shop is empty, making it easy to enter. However, the menu displayed outside is a bit difficult to understand due to the overly dramatic product names. After deciding on what to eat, purchased the following food tickets at the ticket machine: White Lotus (vegetables) 1150 yen, Tomato 100 yen, Small Rice 100 yen, Total 1350 yen. By following the shop's Instagram, you can get free rice, so for those who use Instagram, make sure to follow and enjoy the free rice. The interior of the shop is bright, clean, and spacious, allowing for a pleasant dining experience. I chose to sit at the counter. Self-serve water, paper towels available, and paper aprons can be obtained from the staff. The White Lotus ramen arrived, topped with fried vegetables, fresh tomatoes, and a soup filled with spices that you couldn't see the noodles in. It almost looks like a regular soup curry rather than ramen. But when you eat it, it's definitely ramen. The soup is said to be pork bone-based, but it's not as intense as Hakata ramen, rather a mild pork bone broth with a strong spice mix aroma. It's not very spicy, but the aroma and flavor of the spices are quite pronounced. The spice-infused soup and noodles taste great together. However, to be honest, it was even better when I soaked the rice in the soup and ate it. So, my impression is that it's more like a soup curry with Chinese noodles as toppings. The toppings included fried eggplant, broccoli, burdock root, fresh tomatoes, and raw onions, all of which paired well with the spiced soup. Increasing the amount of tomatoes was a good move. The curry-flavored seasoned egg was a nice addition to the soup curry. There is also onion achar on the counter, adding it to the soup curry halfway through enhances the flavor with a bit of spiciness and acidity. Finally, I added rice to the soup to make curry porridge and finished it deliciously. I could have gone with a regular portion of rice. The shop's location near a bus stop, long opening hours, and delicious soup curry make it a place I will likely visit often as the weather gets colder.

This is my first visit on a regular night. It is located about a 10-minute walk north from Naka-Meguro Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line, on the inner loop lane of Yamate Street. The nearest station is Ikejiri-Ohashi on the Denentoshi Line. It is a specialty shop for "curry ramen" with a menu consisting of 3 types of "curry ramen" and 1 type of "curry maze soba". I purchased the "Shiran" for 1,050 yen using a high-tech automated ticket machine. Each menu has settings such as "recommended", "vegetables", "meat", and "special", but it is difficult to choose without pictures as the volume is unclear and the price is over 1,000 yen. The "Shiran" is described as "a gentle soup with a salt base that evokes potage, fused with dozens of mixed spices (masala) in a three-dimensional manner". So, while it is called "curry ramen", I imagine it to have a spicy Indian flavor rather than the traditional Japanese curry taste. The appearance of the "Shiran" has a half "flavored egg" in the center, along with 2 slices of "chashu", "tomato", "spinach", and other toppings visible. The "soup" is not as spicy as expected, with a mild impression and not a strong curry flavor, and a low viscosity type. The "noodles" are standard for ramen with no particular features. As for the "curry ramen", I think they have researched and created various variations, so the taste is reasonably delicious. Additionally, there is "achar" made from "onions" on the table, which was surprisingly delicious, similar to the "pickled radish" that comes with Japanese curry. I would like to try the "Kuren" and "Kokuren" if I have the chance. A listing of restaurants in Tokyo where you can enjoy delicious "curry ramen".

Today, as planned, I made time in the morning and visited two places in Uemachi that I had been meaning to go to for a while. Then, I went to a new store in Sangenjaya and moved to Ikejiri Ohashi. The fourth place I visited was a curry ramen specialty store called "MENYA TOMO" that opened in February 2022 under the supervision of the popular soup curry restaurant "Yellow Company". The exterior of the store didn't have a typical curry ramen vibe, but it had a clean and calm impression. The interior was spacious, with a cafe-bar atmosphere. I purchased a ticket for the White Lotus and Vegetables curry ramen, which I found intriguing due to the mention of masala in the description. The toppings of vegetables were colorful and appealing, and the curry ramen with a hint of masala was delicious. The hot and flavorful soup had a nice balance of spices, and the noodles were smooth and had a good texture. The vegetable toppings, including eggplant, burdock, and broccoli, were a great choice, and the fried eggplant and burdock matched perfectly. The soft-boiled egg was slightly underseasoned but balanced well with the rest of the dish. The shredded wood ear mushrooms and chopped spinach complemented the curry soup, and the small pieces of tomato added a sweet and sour touch. The finely chopped onions provided a crunchy texture, and the pickled onion on the table was a refreshing addition. Overall, the curry ramen had a pleasant spiciness and a rich pork bone broth base, making it a satisfying meal.
