I live alone and the closest restaurant to my home is Yudetaro. My favorite is their set meal with condiments and seasonal tempura, it's delicious. The Takebashi branch is conveniently close to my company and both locations serve tasty food.

Among the standing soba noodle chains, this is my favorite. I don't go out of my way to visit, but if it's nearby, I'll go. I prefer the cold soba because I like the texture. They often have coupons, so it's a good deal. I would be happy if they also had Motsu Jiro.

When you eat it after a long time, the noodles are thin with a good chew, and the broth is clear, making it feel very high in quality. The topping soba I had today costs 650 yen, but it was so delicious that I felt it was worth the price. I find the quality of soba at other restaurants to be lower.

I often see the restaurant "Yudetaro" in Tokyo. My colleague recommended their soba noodles, so I decided to visit. I purchased a meal ticket for the "Daily Special Set for 700 yen," which today was a "Mini Katsudon Set." It's my favorite combination, so I didn't hesitate to choose it! There is a description of their soba noodles on the wall, boasting that they use carefully ground buckwheat flour from a designated noodle factory and make the noodles in-store every day. Therefore, they serve "freshly ground, freshly made, freshly boiled" soba noodles. Despite being a standing soba restaurant, they have a strong commitment to quality. The soba noodles took some time to be ready, indicating that they boil them thoroughly. The soba noodles had a firm texture with good chewiness, although they lacked the aroma of soba. The dipping sauce was on the thinner side, allowing for easy soaking of the noodles. The Mini Katsudon was also delicious, with a tender and tasty pork cutlet. The set with the Mini Katsudon for 700 yen was incredibly worth it!

I think this chain restaurant serves the most delicious and well-made soba. The soba noodles are different, as they are homemade in the store. The vegetable tempura is also delicious, with good quality oil used for frying. The aroma is wonderful. It's unique how the tempura and green onions are served separately on a plate. I even drank all the soup.

It's been a while since I visited Yudetaro. In the past, they only had "morning soba" as a special morning menu, but now they offer everything from curry to mackerel set meals to morning ramen. I was surprised to see ramen on the menu at Yudetaro! I usually order the morning soba with the broth served separately, but at a different Yudetaro branch, the soba came with the broth already poured over it. I prefer dipping my cold soba into the broth and eating it smoothly, so this difference was unexpected.

Morning soba (with grated daikon) 420 yen
Continuing from yesterday, I had breakfast in Ogawamachi today. I entered at 7:09 AM, with 14 customers already inside and 12 customers behind me. The store opened at 7 AM, and it was quite crowded inside. I ordered the morning soba, and it was served promptly. A free coupon was included. The soba was served in a kake (dipping) style, allowing me to customize my own bowl. I added grated daikon and shichimi pepper to my liking. The broth had a nice umami flavor. The tempura was served on a separate plate, allowing me to enjoy it crispy before dipping it in the broth for a change of taste. I didn't need the coupon, so I left it behind when I left. It was delicious!
Used for breakfast on March 2, 2023.

I had been curious about this chain store for a while but hadn't had the chance to go until now. I was feeling a bit hungry, so I decided to go. The noodles were freshly boiled and were excellent. The broth was also deliciously sweet and spicy. I liked that they served the green onions separately. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely go again. DQ brand workwear.

This time, I used the restaurant during breakfast time. I was unsure of what to order, but I ended up getting the morning set (curry, warm). After purchasing a meal ticket, I handed it over at the counter, and when the food was ready, they called me to pick it up. The morning set includes a small curry with toppings. I chose the warm soba (curry) option this time. I sprinkled some tempura bits and shichimi pepper on top and enjoyed it with the added tempura. The restaurant has standing tables, counter seats, and regular tables, making it convenient. The broken automatic door at the entrance was a bit of a concern. This soba restaurant is located near Ogawamachi Station.

The closest standing soba noodle shop to my office is this one. Despite its proximity, I don't go there often. It may take a little longer for the food to come out compared to other similar shops. However, it's not exceptionally delicious. They serve green onions in a small dish and wasabi in a small packet, which is unique, but they have a wide variety of toppings (the curry sauce is surprising). I don't usually take risks when ordering, as I usually stop by to fill my stomach when I missed eating earlier in the day. I plan to move out of the office in two months, so I wonder how many more times I can visit this place.

I visited for breakfast curry at 390 yen with a self-service fried egg and hot spring egg coupon before 7:00 on a weekday. They opened a little earlier for me. There were 2 customers before me and 10 customers after me. There were 3 staff members, including a father and a sister. The counter seats are popular.

On a regular Thursday at 9:30, feeling cold, I decided to stop by for breakfast to warm up. When I entered the restaurant, I saw a breakfast menu on the ticket machine, offering about five options such as soba set and rice set, with variations of cold or hot, allowing me to choose according to my mood. I decided to try the morning soba set (with egg) for 370 yen. At the counter, I was asked if I wanted it hot or cold, and if I wanted the egg raw or poached. I chose hot and poached. I sat down, but was called up quickly to pick up my order. The portion was just right and most importantly, it warmed me up. It was satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant after a long time and saw that they had Chinese soba with shrimp tempura, which I had wanted to try again since two winters ago. The restaurant had plastic dividers on all tables for COVID-19 prevention. The place was about 40% full during the early evening. The tray at the counter already had the familiar free coupon on it. After a while, the dish arrived. Why is the green onion on a separate plate? The soup had a strong oil film, maybe because of the shrimp tempura. The taste was simple. The shrimp tempura was crispy and had a good texture. Upon reading my own article later, I realized that there were quite a few differences from the shrimp tempura soba that was available two years ago - an extra piece of shrimp tempura, no bamboo shoots, added kaiware radish, and chopped green onions on a separate plate. The name "Aga Aga Shrimp Tempura Chinese Soba" is quite something.

When I went to Nichidecho over the weekend, I saw a sign at a branch of Kan'nai that said "Katsudon Festival" on the menu board. It seemed like they had copied a popular menu item from their friendly neighbor, Fuji Soba. Curious about the taste of the curry katsudon, I decided to try it at this restaurant. The restaurant is located about 3 minutes south from Ogawacho intersection along Hongo Street. Inside, there were two ticket machines next to the entrance. I selected the curry katsudon as a single item from the menu, purchased the ticket, and handed it to the order counter. After a short wait of about 5 minutes, my ticket number was called, and I picked up my order at the counter. I added some fukujinzuke from the condiment corner and returned to my table. The dish came on an oval plate on a square tray, with curry and rice, topped with a katsu and tamagotoji. The curry had a sweet taste, reminiscent of Showa-era curry. The katsu was also sweet in flavor. It was a good deal as you could enjoy both curry and katsudon in one dish, but it wasn't particularly delicious. That was my meal of the day, a curry katsudon.

Yudetaro @ Fukujuso Soba Site (Kanda Nishikicho 1-chome) - Noriben at a roadside noodle shop?! The well-known standing soba shop "Fukujuso," with a history of over 30 years, closed down in 2011, and after ten years, Yudetaro was born on its former site. I don't usually go to major chain stores, but with the recent wave of closures, I had to stop by here for breakfast. I tried the Noriben set - a roadside noodle shop? What does that mean exactly? Now, let's see what's on the menu. Indeed, it's a Noriben - fried fish, chikuwa tempura, large seaweed, and more. First, let's try the soba; the broth has become tastier compared to before. I didn't like it much in the past, so I only had cold soba, but now warm soba is also delicious. I like to sink the chikuwa tempura in the broth to warm it up. The crispy fried fish is surprisingly good. Oh, this is nice! It fills me up, and what caught my eye was the variety of breakfast options: grated daikon, egg, grilled mackerel rice, curry, natto. You can choose from five options for 360-380 yen. I added grated daikon to the grilled mackerel rice - the mackerel was quite good, and the daikon turned out to be unnecessary. It's healthy without fried food, which is great. The combination of grilled mackerel and grated daikon is well-known and delicious. Drizzle a bit of soy sauce, and it's perfect. Yudetaro, I have a new appreciation for you!

I went to Kanda and visited the Noodle Shop Yudetarou in Nishiki-cho. When I lined up at the ticket machine, the customer in front of me was buying various food tickets. I thought they were a big eater, but it turns out they were getting takeout, including soba and tempura. There were other customers getting takeout that day as well. I had the Mori Soba. The soba was a bit firm this time. I also received a new free coupon for the New Year. It was a satisfying meal.

I used Yudetaro nearby because I had errands to run. It was my first time eating there in a while, but it was quite delicious. They close early at 4:00 pm on holidays, which is very early. It's truly a business district! There were many condiments, tempura crumbs, and pickles near the pick-up area. It seems like you can enjoy changing the flavor. Thank you for the meal.

I had a great deal on morning soba with tempura and a warm egg for 360 yen. Since today (Sunday) seems to have better conditions for public transportation due to COVID, I decided to finish the work I had planned for tomorrow. "Takumi Komoro Soba" Nikolai branch is closed on weekends and holidays, so I had soba at "Yudetaro" instead. While the soba at Takumi's doesn't compare in quality, it was still delicious as I hadn't had soba in a while. I quickly finished my work and now I'm heading to Meijiya to buy cold noodles from Nishiyama Seimen. Thank you for the meal!

Tonight, feeling like just drinking, I stopped by a nearby Yudetarou because I hadn't eaten anything all day and felt like I should have something before drinking. I remembered a strange menu with ramen and shrimp tempura, and for some reason, I really wanted to eat it. However, I was disappointed to find out that it was a limited-time offer. So, I looked for other ramen options on the ticket machine... and ended up choosing the Meat Ankake Chuka. I'm not a fan of ankake because I have a sensitive tongue, but there was no other choice for ramen. When the dish arrived, it was surprisingly filled with meat. This looks good, I like meat. It looks cute (weird sense of aesthetics). But... the soup was almost entirely ankake. Or rather, just ankake. What is this? Are the majority of people in the world ankake lovers? Can someone please give me some ice to throw in? I remembered there was a ladle at the counter and went to get it. Finally, I started eating. The surface was covered with meat and ankake, but when I dug in, I found Chinese noodles. A salty scent wafted up, and I realized, ah, this is ramen. I ate while blowing on it casually. Since the bowl was on a tray, even if I blew a little harder, it wouldn't dirty the counter. The previous customer had left the counter covered in soup, so I wiped it with the wet tissue provided. What was that all about? The work of a slurping demon? I'm not sure if I'll order it again, but when I feel like eating it again, it'll probably be off the menu. A once in a lifetime experience, perhaps?
