This NEWDAYS is located in the concourse inside the ticket gates of JR Fuchu-Hommachi Station. Fuchu-Hommachi Station is an important transportation hub where the Musashino Line and Nambu Line intersect. It is also the nearest station to the Tokyo Racecourse, so on race days, it is crowded with racing enthusiasts. It is also the nearest station to the famous Okunitama Shrine, known for its Kuyami Festival and Sumomo Festival.
In April 2014, on a weekday evening, I stopped by alone to look for a beer for drinking at night. I found a limited edition Asahi Super Dry labeled as "Convenience Store Limited" and "Limited Quantity." It was shipped from the factory within 3 days. When I drank it at home, I found it to be delicious. According to the website of East Japan Retail Net, which operates NEWDAYS, there are a total of 506 NEWDAYS and NEWDAYS Mini stores.
In May 2014, on a weekday evening, I stopped by alone again to look for a beer for drinking at night. This time I bought a "Convenience Store Limited Pro Baseball Legends" campaign Clear Asahi. It claims to have "20% more barley" and "creamy foam." I remember buying and drinking Clear Asahi a lot when it was first released, and it does seem to have become tastier with creamy foam.
In June 2014, on a Saturday, I stopped by alone to look for a lunch box for lunch. They were running a campaign offering a 50 yen discount on lunch boxes over 300 yen. I bought a Hiyashi gohan bento box (tax included 360 yen). It was a fun bento box with various side dishes like tsukune and tamagoyaki. Although the portion was small for a man like me, I bought it with the impure motive of wanting to eat cup ramen with it!
In July 2014, on a weekday evening, I stopped by alone again to look for a beer for drinking at night. This time they were holding a "Delicious Hokkaido Fair" from July 1st to August 1st, and I found and bought the Hokkaido limited edition "Sapporo Classic." It made me want to visit Hokkaido!
In July 2014, on a Saturday, I stopped by alone again to look for a lunch box for lunch. I bought an Onigiri lunch box (tax included 298 yen). It was a fun bento box with two types of onigiri, salmon rice and shiso rice, as well as chicken karaage and boiled egg. Once again, the portion was small for a man like me, but I bought it with the impure motive of wanting to eat cup ramen with it!
In October 2014, on a weekday evening, I stopped by alone again to look for a beer for drinking at night. This time I bought a "Tokyo Station 100th Anniversary Can" of Yebisu beer. According to the Yebisu beer website, it is only available at stores within JR East Japan's (JR East Japan Retail Net Co., Ltd., Japan Restaurant Enterprises Co., Ltd., and other JR East Japan related companies) and JR East Japan Tokyo Station ticket gate stores.
In November 2014, on a Saturday morning, I stopped by alone to look for bread as a substitute for breakfast. I bought the "Tartar White Sesame Chicken Fillet" and "Croquette Bread (using Kobe sauce)." The "Tartar White Sesame Chicken Fillet" has a large piece of chicken inside and is my favorite bread as I love chicken. The "Croquette Bread (using Kobe sauce)" was delicious when I bought it at the JR Tachikawa Station kiosk, so I repeated it. The bread sold at NEWDAYS is of a high level compared to the bread of other convenience stores.
In December 2014, on a weekday evening, I stopped by alone again to look for a beer for drinking at night. This time I bought a "JRA Arima Kinen Can" of Sapporo Draft Beer Black Label. I don't follow horse racing, but I wish all the best to the racing experts.
In January 2015, on a Saturday morning, I stopped by alone to look for bread as a substitute for breakfast. This time, I repeated the "Tartar White Sesame Chicken Fillet" and also bought the "Chicken Nanban Dog." NEWDAYS' bread satisfies me, a lover of deli bread, with a wide variety of options. The "Morning Curry Udon Bread" I bought the next Sunday morning also has a texture that seems addictive.
