I dropped in here on the same day without a reservation. The entrance has glass doors, so I almost passed by. Once inside, it's a comfortable space. They listened to my complaints and we had various conversations. The best part of eating at the counter is the conversation. You can leave the sushi selection to the chef or order what you want, depending on your mood. I feel like I want to visit this restaurant again.

Visited a sushi restaurant about 3 minutes from the university, feeling like having sushi. It was my first time, so I requested the omakase course. I arrived at the restaurant right at the 6:00 pm opening time. The interior was clean and beautiful. - Pumpkin soup, liver ponzu of kawahagi The pumpkin soup was a seasonal cold soup that I could feel the seasonal touch in. The liver ponzu of kawahagi was exquisite. I wanted to have alcohol with this. - Torigai with wasabi soy sauce - Katsuo with ginger soy sauce - Chestnuts from the chef's hometown, which were taken from a splendid chestnut tree. It was delicious! This kind of dish has a warmth to it and it's nice. - Cod milt - Steamed oyster The seaweed had a strong scent of the sea and it was delicious! I requested sushi toppings from here. I ordered abalone, sea urchin, conger eel, and konoshiro as the must-have toppings. - Abalone It was chewy and delicious. I wanted to eat it with liver soy sauce, but it couldn't be helped! - Buffun uni and murasaki uni - Anago I could still eat, so I added chu-toro and horse mackerel to the order. Lastly, I had a soup bowl. I was fully satisfied around here. The toppings were delicious, and I was happy that the rice was on the smaller side! The atmosphere of the husband and wife was good, and it's a sushi restaurant that I would like to visit again! There weren't many types of sake, but I was still very satisfied! Sake I drank: Karahofuku Komachi, a sake from Sendai (forgot the name), and a cold-aged sake from Hokkaido.

As always, this is a delicious and cozy restaurant. I used to find the flavor of surf clam a bit off-putting due to its muddy smell, but when I eat it at this restaurant, it's sweet and flavorful without any unpleasant smell. I also enjoyed the aoyagi. Starting with the bonito sashimi and red flounder, and ending with the kohada-gari roll, I had a great time savoring my favorite sushi and snacks with hot sake at an incredibly affordable price. While salt is good too, I still love this sushi restaurant near the university the most.

At Ogura, it was a dazzling display of lights. After coming back from a party, I decided to have some sushi as a light snack. I enjoyed some beer and sake while snacking on return bonito sashimi, nigiri with saury, sardine, horse mackerel, marinated tuna, octopus from Sajima, and finished off with pickled ginger rolls with saury and dried gourd. It was delicious.

When thinking about "treating myself" or "spending relaxing time with loved ones", what comes to mind? For me, it's the first thought of spending time at "Sushidokoro Ogura". The abundant appetizers. Appetizers made with seasonal ingredients and a touch of craftsmanship. Carefully crafted sushi. Japanese sake selected to complement the dishes. The comforting atmosphere created by the couple who run the place. It's a very important place that heals the daily fatigue and gives energy for tomorrow. If you mention your favorite sake brand, they will quietly have it in stock, and eventually it becomes a regular brand. Such thoughtful gestures leave a lasting impression on the heart. I'm sure I'm not the only one with these feelings. One day, I had the opportunity to talk with a super regular customer at the counter. The reason why this person keeps coming back to "Sushidokoro Ogura" is because, as they said, "I just love this couple more than anything." I strongly nodded in agreement in my heart. With 1000% of empathy, I realized that this place truly resonates with everyone's hearts. I hope that all of you reading this will have the chance to experience it at least once.

This was the best sushi restaurant I have ever visited! There was no set menu, and the chef would either serve small dishes or nigiri right away. It wasn't a complete omakase experience where you just tell them your preferences, but the chef would frequently ask if everything was okay. I was impressed by the chef's thoughtfulness. I had about 7 different small dishes and around 10 pieces of nigiri, along with 4 glasses of beer and shochu. I left feeling full and satisfied, and the bill was less than 15,000 yen. They accept credit cards, but some cards may not be accepted. VISA was okay, but JCB was not. This place is definitely worth a visit as a special treat!

I have been a regular customer at a sushi restaurant for a long time, but unfortunately it has closed down. I recently visited a new sushi restaurant for the first time. It was a small place with only 8 seats at the counter. The owner and the chef were welcoming, and the food was delicious. The portions were a bit small, but the quality of the sushi was good. The prices were a bit high, so I hope they can offer more affordable options in the future. Overall, it was a good experience and I would consider going back again.

We, the sushi refugees, are wandering in search of a place where we can feel at ease. We decided to try this restaurant that caught our eye along the familiar path. The interior of the restaurant is clean and the counter tables are spotless. When asked if we wanted some appetizers, I replied that what I most wanted to eat at a sushi restaurant was, of course, sushi. So, I asked for a decent amount and dove into the nigiri. The couple next to us were being served one small dish after another, making me wonder if small plate dishes were a trend in the area around Gakugeidaigaku. As for the nigiri, it was delicious. I could tell that they were using good quality ingredients with care. I was satisfied. This place has become my top choice for a regular sushi spot.

It's been a while since I visited Ogura-san's place. As always, delicious sushi in a nice atmosphere. Starting with grated taro corn soup and grilled flatfish with seaweed, followed by flounder liver soy sauce and bonito tataki. Then onto nigiri sushi - horse mackerel from Izumi, sardine from Hokkaido. Both were excellent with rich flavors. Refreshing shinko three-layered sushi, salted bonito belly, bonito from Kesennuma, salt and vinegar eel. Finished with fatty tuna and additional pressed sardine sushi. As a bonus, we also received a thick roll. Enjoyed water eggplant and ginger as palate cleansers while sipping on white wine and warm sake. All this for just a ten-thousand yen bill with change returned.

A sushi restaurant known only to locals, where everyone who comes is completely satisfied but nobody posts about it. The atmosphere is great, the clientele is nice, and the sushi is delicious. Of course, it's not comparable to sushi restaurants in the city in terms of price. When you want to relax and enjoy delicious sushi and appetizers after returning to your hometown, I think there's no better place around here. Sorry to the locals who have been keeping this place a secret.
