I was delighted to have some Japanese sake after a long time. And I had a good laugh when the menu recommended craft beer called "IPA Shibari." Conclusion: Japanese sake is delicious, but IPA was also amazing! I was invited to the izakaya restaurant "Morugen" in front of Gotanda Station, which serves fresh fish from Misaki Fishing Port and vegetables from Aoki Farm. I was surprised to find that the restaurant was very stylish and even the chairs were cute! You can order from your smartphone. The food, especially the fish and vegetables, was delicious and stylish. The atmosphere was already stylish from the appetizer of fried eggplant and lotus root, and cold soup. The sake was poured generously into the glass, which I like to capture in a video (although I have no opportunity to share it). I chose the "Wind Forest" sake from Nara, which I like, out of the 8 varieties available. It was easy to drink. The tuna tempura was crispy and delicious. I enjoyed it with the hot and crispy texture. I mistakenly received the "Space IPA" beer, which turned out to be a mistake by the staff, but it was delicious! The hoppy flavor was addictive. The grilled morning harvest vegetables from Aoki Farm were colorful and went well with both sake and beer. I also tried the plum crystal and mascarpone cheese dish, which was recommended by others. The chewy texture of the plum crystal and the creamy mascarpone were a good match. I couldn't resist ordering the green onion and octopus dish with bread, which was another excellent dish that paired well with both sake and beer. I also ordered the "Robot Panda" IPA beer, which was also delicious with its hoppy aroma. It was a great day to enjoy dining out again. Stylish restaurants are the best, especially when the food and drinks are delicious. It was a fantastic day.

The owner, who has worked in the food and beverage industry for over 10 years, personally selects ingredients by visiting the source, resulting in discovering fresh fish from Miura Peninsula, vegetables from Aoki Farm, and the rare Oozaki beef. We tried the Miura Peninsula seafood and mountain delicacies x fresh oysters x Oozaki beef sushi "GOLD plan" with all-you-can-drink for 5500 yen. Today, I visited Mr. Morgen, a restaurant chosen by my junior colleague, for a biannual gathering with my senior and junior colleagues. We were guided to a private room and immediately toasted with beer. It was delightful to have appetizers served along with the beer! The sashimi assortment was explained in detail by the staff, and the fresh oysters with ponzu sauce were delicious without any fishy taste. The salt koji-marinated chicken ham had a crispy skin and juicy meat, packed with flavor that went well with drinks. We enjoyed a variety of dishes such as grilled fish, tempura platter, and meat sushi without getting bored. The staff's service was excellent, and we had a great time drinking and dining. Thank you for the wonderful meal! We will definitely visit again!

Before entering the holiday, I had a farewell party with my friends. We decided to meet in Gotanda as I had some business along the Ikegami Line. We wanted to have a hearty drink, so we searched for a place with a all-you-can-drink plan and ended up at this restaurant, Morgen Gotanda. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Gotanda Station, and only a few minutes from Oosakihirokoji Station on the Ikegami Line. It is on the 7th floor of the Gotanda EX Building. This time, we opted for the GOLD course plan with all-you-can-drink for 5,500 yen. The course includes 7 dishes and all-you-can-drink with draft beer. We started with a toast with draft beer. The course included: 1. Two appetizers - homemade pickles and simmered eggplant and pumpkin. 2. Sashimi platter with five types of fresh fish from Misaki Fishing Port and Toyosu. 3. Domestic raw oysters, specifically the large and juicy Iwate rock oysters. 4. Salted koji chicken ham, which was light and easy to eat. 5. Grilled local fish, this time it was grilled swordfish. 6. Tempura of vegetables from Aoki Farm and fluffy sweet potato tempura. 7. Ozaki beef sushi, the main dish made with Ozaki beef. 8. A small bowl of soup to finish the meal. The course had a lot of healthy options, making it ideal for groups with many women. However, as a meat lover, I wished there were more meat options in the course. Overall, the variety of small dishes was enjoyable.

The restaurant started off quiet in the evening, but gradually filled up with reserved guests, showing its popularity in the area. The dishes were delicious, starting with pickles and eggplant with grated daikon, followed by a 5-piece sashimi platter featuring fresh fish from Misaki Fishing Port and Toyosu Market. The flavors were exquisite, especially the rich and sweet yellowtail sashimi. The chicken ham with crispy skin and the tender swordfish were also highlights. The tempura with snap peas and butternut squash, as well as the meat sushi made with premium Ozaki beef, were equally delicious. The miso soup at the end was a perfect finish to the meal. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience with great quality and value for money. I highly recommend Morgen in Gotanda for a delightful dinner.

Everything was delicious! I went to Morugen in Gotanda. First, the beer! There was a wide variety of drinks available. The beer with a flower motif had a gently sweet taste. The appetizers were a clear soup and pickled shirako (milt). They went really well with the alcohol. Then, there was Bagna Cauda with Asa-dore vegetables from Aoki Farm, served with anchovy sauce and salt. It had a gentle flavor and was very comforting. Iburi-gakko (smoked daikon radish) definitely goes well with alcohol! It had a great texture. The shirako tempura was fluffy. It melted in the mouth, so delicious! The sashimi platter with 5 kinds of fish was incredibly fresh. The scallops were large and impressive! It turns out they were directly delivered from Misaki Fish Market! For the finale, I ordered onigiri, which had a comforting deliciousness. Rice is always tasty! There are table seats and counter seats available, and this time I sat at the counter. It was nice to see the chef working in the back of the counter, which made the food taste even better. If you are looking for delicious food and a wide selection of drinks, I highly recommend it!

Located a 5-minute walk from Gotanda Station in a building with a Starbucks on the first floor. When I entered the restaurant, it was almost full... well, I can see why it's so popular. Even though I don't usually order alcohol, I was excited by the variety of drinks. I ordered a rare beer. - Sake Kasu Smoothie Yamadanishiki: A craft beer smoothie made with sake kasu (Yamadanishiki) from the limited edition "Densho Kiku," mixed with banana puree and custard cream. It had a unique taste and was surprisingly smooth, almost like a beer version of doburoku. - Appetizers: Miso soup and sea cucumber vinegar - Potato fries: Crispy and delicious, seasoned with truffle salt. - Meat sushi: Soft and a great choice! - Gyoza: Made with oysters from Iwate, where the producer has made some adjustments to make them easier to grow by setting the sea water temperature a bit higher. The meat was large and juicy, with a squeeze of lemon. - Grilled Oizaki beef: Light and tender with a clean and gentle texture. The playful presentation on the plate adds a nice touch. - Tiramisu: A perfect dessert to end the meal, small and just the right size.

Morugen in Gotanda is a popular izakaya where groups of 4 to 8 people often visit, and it tends to get fully booked as the night goes on. This is no surprise considering their menu featuring freshly caught fish from Miura Peninsula and vibrant, flavorful vegetables, paired with an amazing all-you-can-drink course that offers great value. On the day of my visit with friends, we opted for the special plan priced at 4,700 yen (tax included) which included a 2-hour all-you-can-drink session and fresh oysters from Miura Peninsula and Kamesaki. The appetizer platter included fish head soup, ankimo with ponzu sauce, and firefly squid with vinegar miso dressing. We started with a highball but soon switched to sake as we enjoyed the appetizers. We chose Kirei Karakuchi Junmai Hachijuu, a smooth sake with a nice dryness that paired well with the dishes. The sashimi platter consisted of red snapper, amberjack, scallops, monkfish, and tuna, all directly delivered from Misaki Fishing Port in Miura Peninsula. They were best enjoyed with salt or Niigata-style soy sauce. Next, we savored the creamy and rich Kamesaki oysters from Iwate prefecture. The rare delicacies platter included ikura pickles, smoked herring, and crab miso tofu. The variety of dishes made us appreciate the range of flavors even more. The vibrant Aoki Farm fresh vegetable platter with bagna cauda and porcini sauce was a delight, with each vegetable bursting with flavor. We paired this with white wine. The satsuma-age was enhanced by the Niigata soy sauce used earlier for the sashimi. The cherry potato tempura was sweet and fluffy. To finish, we had the Misaki Fishing Port fish sushi roll, featuring fatty mackerel and vinegared rice that left us completely satisfied. The service was excellent, and considering the quality of the food, it felt like they were offering more than what was economically viable.

I opted for the 2-hour all-you-can-drink special plan with Miura Peninsula's seafood and Kizaki-produced fresh oysters for 4,700 yen. Starting with a highball toast, we enjoyed a trio of appetizers - duck liver, firefly squid, and fish head soup. The fish sashimi platter included freshly caught fish from Miura Fishing Port - red snapper, amberjack, scallop, gurnard, and tuna - all incredibly fresh and delicious. The oysters from Kizaki, Iwate, were rich and flavorful. We also sampled three delicacies - Ishikari pickles, smoked herring, and crab miso tofu - all perfect with sake. The farm-fresh vegetables from Aoki Farm on the Miura Peninsula were sweet and flavorful. The tempura of fluffy sweet potato and cherry potato was delightful. The seared mackerel sushi was topped with shiso, adding a nice touch. To finish, we had a glass of white wine. The value for money at 4,700 yen was exceptional, and the staff were friendly, making it a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. During a year-end party, my friend recommended this dining place. As you enter, there are counter seats and further inside, spacious table seats. The recommended dish is the fresh sashimi assortment from Miura Peninsula Misaki Fishing Port, where fresh fish is delivered every morning. It's fresh, without any fishy smell, and deliciously light. The salad with snow crab and salmon roe is very voluminous, with crunchy greens and lotus root making a strong impression. The Onko Gyoza with crispy chili oil and juicy meat is addictively tasty, just as praised by Matsuko. The fluffy Satsuma-age is a specialty here, with a white interior and a unique fluffy yet Satsuma-age taste that I've never experienced before. Is that why it's a specialty!? The truffle-scented fried potatoes are not just ordinary fries, but feel like homemade potatoes. The restaurant seemed busy and bustling with full tables. I still remember the smile of the lady who served us. It's always nice to receive service with a smile, even when they're busy. I will definitely visit again.

The crab salad was refreshing with the fresh crab and tasty dressing. My top recommendation would be the fluffy sweet potato tempura. It was so light and fluffy, almost like fried tofu. The flavor was rich and delicious. A must-try dish!

First, the fish freshly caught in Miura fishing port. Miura fishing port is easily accessible from Tokyo, so you can enjoy the high freshness of the fish. The variety of fish is also abundant. This time, we had scallops, horse mackerel, yellowtail, yellowfin tuna, and sea bream. We enjoyed them with Niigata dashi soy sauce and seaweed salt. Eating sashimi with salt!? It was somewhat surprising, but after trying it, I understood. The richness of the fish itself is strong, and the salt enhances it. The fat is so rich that it melts in your mouth. The grilled mushrooms from Nagano, which were presented to the Emperor, had a refreshing taste with just salt, pepper, and olive oil, yet it was a satisfying flavor. I realized that when the ingredients are delicious, even simple seasoning can be enjoyable. The oysters without any smell, the seasonal peach and mozzarella that can be enjoyed only at this time of year, and the perfectly seasoned mentaiko and shirasu ajillo... I was also happy to taste the gyoza from Onsappu, Hokkaido that I love. The skin is chewy and irresistible. Every dish was exquisite, and it was a wonderful moment of happiness that made me feel so good that I couldn't help but sigh. I could feel that the restaurant staff put love and care into cooking each ingredient. It was a healing experience. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

I made a reservation at a restaurant located about 5 minutes from Gotanda Station. Although I don't often visit Gotanda, I found this place online and it caught my interest. This restaurant offers fresh seafood from Miura Peninsula, vegetables from Aoki Farm, and the rare Oisaki beef. The fish auctioned in the morning market arrived at the restaurant just a few hours before, ensuring exceptional freshness. The sashimi platter we had included fresh scallops, horse mackerel, yellowtail, bluefin tuna, and sea bream, all seasoned with seaweed salt and incredibly delicious. The grilled premium mushrooms, which were even presented to the Imperial Family, were also outstanding. With a wide variety of drinks available, both drinkers and non-drinkers can enjoy this restaurant. Every dish, made with carefully selected ingredients, was delicious and made us happy. We arrived early, but the restaurant quickly filled up with customers, so I recommend making a reservation before visiting. I would love to come back to this favorite restaurant again.

Located about 5 minutes from Gotanda Station, just across the Meguro River, is Miura, a place known for its fresh seafood and vegetables. I recommend trying their sashimi platter and bagna cauda while enjoying a variety of sake options. They offer different types of rice, starting with Omachi 807, then moving to Akitsuho 657, and finally returning to Omachi 807. Personally, I prefer the slightly sweeter taste of Omachi 807.

I ordered by scanning a QR code. - Iwate rice field oysters steamed in sake: Oysters are steamed in a can with sake, and when eaten with lemon, the taste of the ingredients stands out. I personally thought it might have been better with ponzu sauce. - Otogai Gyoza: A satisfying and garlicky fried dumpling. I removed some of the garlic, but it still had a good taste that goes well with alcohol. - Assorted sashimi: I chose a 5-piece assortment, and all of them were delicious and fresh. You could taste the freshness. - Morning-caught local fish nigiri: A large-sized nigiri with strong vinegar flavor, so no soy sauce was needed. - Morning-harvested vegetables grilled from Aoki Farm: Seven types of vegetables grilled simply with salt. I especially liked the shishito peppers. - Rich cheese miso pickles: Despite looking plain in the photo, it was my favorite of the day. The smooth cheese melts in your mouth with a hint of miso aroma. The overall flavor was rich, making it easy to drink with alcohol. I also tried a craft beer, which was fruity and paired well with the meal.

I forgot to take a lot of photos, but the assorted sashimi, directly delivered from Misaki Fishing Port, was excellent. They also have many other interesting menu items, such as ikura and sea urchin on simmered egg. This dish pays homage to a famous dish from a well-known restaurant in Gotanda, so you know it's good! The mascarpone with umeshu jelly was also delicious, with the perfect balance of plum acidity and creamy mascarpone. The staff's service was pleasant, and I definitely want to visit this restaurant again!

I was told by an acquaintance that although the Tabelog rating was low, if you're looking for a good place around Gotanda, you should give it a try. So, I went with my Minato-ku girlfriends. When we entered the restaurant in a mixed-use building, I was honestly a bit worried at first. But looking around, most of the customers were in their 30s and 40s coming after work. We sat at the counter and were served a delicious miso soup, seaweed, and chilled tofu as a starter. Surprisingly, the food was really good, even though I didn't have high expectations for a restaurant in a mixed-use building. We then ordered recommended dishes using our smartphones, which was quite smart. The recommended bluefin tuna from Koguro-san was fresh and delicious, without any fishy smell. It was surprisingly cost-effective at 990 yen. It made me wonder if the restaurant was doing okay. The fresh fish brought in every morning from Misaki fishing port in Miura Peninsula was also amazing. It felt more like a sushi restaurant than an izakaya. The Otofuke Gyoza with crispy chili oil and juicy meat filling was excellent, and the spicy grilled cod roe was addictive. The coriander nut salad was a delight for coriander lovers. The truffle-scented fried potatoes were not your ordinary fries, they were crispy and homey. We ended with the garlic beef rice, which was incredibly flavorful and went well with lemon sour. It was a pleasant surprise and I left feeling satisfied.

I rarely go to the Gotanda area. I stopped by a restaurant with a friend in search of good places to eat, and I was surprised by the quality and deliciousness of the food! When we sat at the counter, we were immediately served with appetizers - miso soup, seaweed, and chilled tofu, three cute dishes. It was a pleasant surprise. Ordering was easy as we could do it quickly from our smartphones! The seafood and vegetables are sourced from Miura Peninsula, so we had high expectations. We ordered the Miura Peninsula's "Misaki Fish Market Morning Fresh Fish" three kinds of sashimi. The freshness was outstanding! Especially the scallops were delicious! We also ordered the "Aoki Farm Morning Harvested Bagna Cauda with Homemade Anchovy Sauce", made with mineral-rich branded vegetables. The generous portion of colorful vegetables was a delight to eat! The Miura Peninsula seafood was so delicious, almost at the level of a sushi restaurant, so we also ordered the "Toyosu Market Direct Delivery Fresh Bluefin Tuna Sashimi", which was rich in flavor and melted in the mouth. The famous "Otogai Hoou Gyoza" was my first time trying it, and it was juicy with a kick of chili oil and garlic! Although the portion was large, it was so tasty that we finished it in no time. It's a must-order menu item from the beginning. We also ordered dishes like seared mentaiko, refreshing plum-seasoned nagaimo, salmon roe and sea urchin on boiled egg, whole tomato simmered in soy sauce, and nut-dressed coriander, all of which paired well with drinks. Everything was delicious, and we finished off with truffle-scented fried potatoes and hearty garlic rice with beef to satisfy our appetites!
