When you exit the north exit of Hatagaya Station and go straight to the right, you will find a craft beer and Thai cuisine restaurant on the right. They offer a variety of Thai curries, with the Southern Pork Rib Curry being the first on the menu. The interior of the restaurant is very stylish, and the staff are Japanese, giving it a different atmosphere from traditional Thai restaurants. The Southern Pork Rib Curry is based on a curry from the southern region of Thailand, known as Gaeng Prik. It is a curry with strong spice and herb flavors, lacking the usual coconut milk taste. It is unique for a Thai curry, not too spicy but with a good kick, making it easy to enjoy with rice. The richness of the pork ribs and the refreshing herb flavors make it delicious. It may not be as spicy as Gaeng Prik, but it has its own original twist. It's commendable that they offer this unique dish as the first on the menu. There are still few restaurants that focus on Southern Thai cuisine, so it would be great to see more emphasis on it. I would love to try their Kuakling curry!

I was looking for a place that accepts HatchPay in Hatagaya, and happened to be close to this place along the Koshu Kaido. I ordered Yam Wun Sen, Gapao, and Shrimp and Pineapple Fried Rice. The Yam Wun Sen was incredibly delicious. The balance of sourness, spiciness, and sweetness was perfect. The seasonal menu item, Shrimp and Pineapple Fried Rice, was also very tasty. They have a variety of original drinks to choose from, which was fun. Despite being made by young Japanese staff, the food tasted like it was authentically recreated from the original flavors. There are counter seats in addition to tables, so it's also good for solo dining.

If it's Thai food, is it Singha? Chang? Here, it's craft beer. I started with a half pint of bitter IPA. A dish with "hotate" in its name is to my liking. It has a fruity aroma and a sharp bitterness. It's the essence of craft beer. I paired it with som tam. I kept the coriander low as one member doesn't like it. It's crunchy, with a mild fish sauce seasoning that's easy to eat. The dishes are served in cheap plastic plates, but the taste is an adaptation for Japanese palates. The peanuts add a nice texture. There were three types of IPA, so I completed them all. But the first hotate was delicious. From gai yang to kai tod, and tod mun. The chili sauce for gai yang (grilled chicken), tod mun (shrimp cakes), is sweet with a mild fish sauce. Kai tod (fried chicken wings) is a mix of wing tips and mid-wings with onion chips and spices. It's savory. I paired this dish with Singha. Even though it doesn't make my mouth spicy, just drinking it makes me feel like I'm in Thailand. The shrimp fried rice is fragrant and fluffy with jasmine rice. The flavor is light. Singha goes well with it. For dessert, I had Thai street food dessert roti. In Thailand, it's a crepe with lots of butter and sugar, but here it's a mix of bananas with a crispy and moist texture. It's delicious. It could be sweeter. Spending around 5000 yen per person, I've reignited my passion to visit Thailand. Thank you for the meal.

Attracted by the delicious-looking Gai Yang, I decided to try it out. The Gai Yang is made with Ooyama chicken marinated in sauce for a whole day before being grilled slowly. The skin is crispy, while the meat is juicy and flavorful. The sweet and sour sauce is just like the authentic taste of Thailand! It's so delicious! I couldn't get enough of it. It pairs perfectly with craft beer. The Yam Wun Sen is served slightly warm, just like in Thailand. The smooth glass noodles and crunchy celery provide a delightful texture. The spiciness is just right! The Italian Pilsner from Iwate was refreshing and easy to drink, perfect with the Gai Yang. The NAGI from Miyagi was smooth and easy to drink, with a lovely aroma. I visited on a Saturday at 3 pm. The interior of the restaurant is decorated in a cute Thai style, which really lifted my spirits. It's a place where you can enjoy yourself whether alone or with friends. They always have 6 types of craft beer available, and the food menu is also extensive. If you love Thai cuisine, this is a must-visit. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Located a 5-minute walk from Hatagaya Station, this Thai cuisine specialty restaurant facing a main street won me over with its craft beer and ethnic Thai dishes. Here are the highlights: - Gai Yang, grilled chicken with crispy skin and juicy meat, not as spicy as it looks. Goes perfectly with beer. - Yam Wun Sen, spicy glass noodle salad with shrimp and cilantro, addictive and surprisingly hot. Beer is a must. - Khao Yam, a Southern Thai-style mixed rice dish with plenty of vegetables and Thai rice, refreshing with aromatic spices. Beer goes down smoothly. - Gapao Rice, minced meat with large chunks and runny egg, satisfying and delicious. Goes perfectly with beer. I chose craft beers with yuzu and citrus flavors, both complemented the dishes perfectly. With a higher alcohol content, you can enjoy drinking and get a nice buzz. Cheers!

I met up with friends from Kansai who I got to know through a Thai cuisine researcher, and we went to eat Thai food together for lunch. We arrived early before the restaurant opened, but after 10 minutes, it was already full! This place is popular for its authentic spicy Thai cuisine. We started with a recommended craft beer for lunch. It was fruity and easy to drink, very delicious! We ordered and shared the following dishes: Yam Wun Sen (spicy glass noodle salad), Gai Yang (Thai grilled chicken), Kai Look Kuey (fried egg with tamarind sauce), and Pad Kaprao Moo (stir-fried minced pork with holy basil). The Yam Wun Sen was delicious with plump shrimp, plenty of cilantro, green onions, and celery, very healthy! The Gai Yang had crispy skin and juicy meat, perfect with the beer. The Kai Look Kuey, which I tried for the first time, had a delicious sauce, and even though I thought "Wow, that's a lot!" at first, it disappeared quickly along with the beer. The Pad Kaprao Moo had chunky minced meat, very tasty! The food and beer were so delicious, and we had a great time chatting and enjoying ourselves. By the way, you can ask the staff about the amount of cilantro, allergies, and other concerns when ordering. The craft beer comes in different sizes, so you can try different ones in a smaller size. Thank you for the meal!

Located a 3-minute walk from Hatagaya Station, along the Koshu Kaido, is the popular Thai restaurant "LaLa Chai thaifood." The casual and bright cafe-style interior allows you to enjoy authentic Thai cuisine and craft beer. They always have 6 craft beer taps available. To start, I toasted with the robustly flavored craft beer "Meet & Meet (280mL/770 yen)." A must-have in Thai cuisine is the Yum Woon Sen (850 yen), a perfect balance of spiciness and acidity in a glass noodle salad. For the main dish or as a snack, the Gaai Yaan (1250 yen) made with Oyama chicken marinated in a special sauce overnight and then slowly grilled is a popular masterpiece. The skin is crispy while the meat is juicy and tender, making it perfect with beer! Don't forget the Som Tam Thai (750 yen), a green papaya salad that I love. This Som Tam may be the spiciest on the menu, but its authentic spiciness is truly unforgettable. And the highlight of today was the Tom Yum Herb Sour (550 yen). This is dangerous. I could drink this endlessly. I might even consider making it at home because it's that delicious. I'll definitely revisit soon just for this drink. It pairs perfectly with the Lemongrass-filled Yam Takrai (900 yen)! Thai cuisine is great for enjoying with salads while drinking. Next time, I will definitely try the Kao Yum!

Located about 150 meters west of Hatagaya Station on Route 20, this Thai restaurant has a stylish bar-like atmosphere. The menu is not extensive, but each dish is carefully prepared with attention to detail. The portions are modest, with a focus on quality. The "Yum Woon Sen" features firm shrimp with plenty of cilantro, balanced perfectly with a strong spiciness and acidity. The fried chicken wings are seasoned with herbs and served with a sweet and salty sauce, offering a delicious flavor that pairs well with drinks. The grilled chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, taking some time to cook but well worth the wait. The "maze soba" has thin noodles and a generous amount of beef and fried dumplings, with a rich and flavorful taste. Overall, the dishes are not adjusted to suit Japanese preferences for spiciness, but are well-suited for enjoying with drinks. The staff, while a bit brusque, may have a dedicated artisanal approach to their work.

I can't believe there's a Thai restaurant here. It just opened in February 2020, so it's still pretty new, but the exterior doesn't look like a typical Thai restaurant. It could easily pass as a separate building for the adjacent LUG HATAGAYA. I found it because it was part of the go-to-eat campaign. It seems they offer craft beer and Thai cuisine. The interior has 4 tables and a counter. I wonder if the owner runs the place alone? The capacity seems fitting for that. The Som Tam... the balance of fish sauce is just right and delicious. The Thai-style omelette... visually looks like thick fried tofu cut into bite-sized pieces. The chili sauce is not too spicy, which is good. The Thai-style mixed noodles... the noodles are interesting, like extra noodles for tonkotsu ramen. The presentation is beautiful and the taste is good. The shrimp fried rice... with 5-6 large shrimp, it's a proper shrimp fried rice. It's fluffy without feeling greasy. Overall, it's tastier than expected! It's not fancy, but there's a certain elegance to the taste... it gives the impression of careful work. My only personal wish is that it would be even better if there were condiments on the table. I wanted to try changing the flavor of the shrimp fried rice. I wonder why there weren't many customers. Was it just a coincidence, or is it because of the poor foot traffic due to COVID, or is it that people don't recognize that there's a Thai restaurant here? The atmosphere is nice, the food is delicious, so I think it's safe to say it's a great Thai restaurant.

I visited during the daytime. I had the Southern Pork Rib Curry with an added Ice Lemongrass Tea for 1,265 yen. The curry sauce was quite spicy. Towards the end, the spiciness accelerated as there were a lot of spices at the bottom of the soup. It was a happy lunch. The various spices were ground, so there was no need to spit them out. The jasmine rice was of high quality and delicious. The interior of the restaurant had a solid feel without any strange ethnic flavors. It seems like the concept is to enjoy Thai cuisine while savoring craft beer. There are plenty of options on the lunch menu. It seems like a fun place to enjoy both during the day and at night.

[Taiwanese Restaurant] Hatagaya "LaLaChai" Stylish & Herby Restaurant Sawadee clap, Tokyo has once again limited restaurants to closing at 8 pm, which is a bit inconvenient for foodies like me who heavily rely on eating out. It means I miss out on days when I can't have Thai food... But let's stay positive and move on to the review of a restaurant I visited recently. Located along the Koshu Highway in Hatagaya, "LaLaChai" is a trendy Thai restaurant known for its Thai cuisine and craft beer concept. [Pooh Value] The menu offers around 20 dishes and 3 desserts at affordable prices. They have dishes from southern Thailand, a cozy Bangkok-style atmosphere, 16 table seats plus a counter, and a wide selection of craft beers. The chef and waitress are Japanese, creating a perfect ambiance for a Thai cuisine date. Yum Takrai Fresh shrimp, squid, and minced meat are the main ingredients, with lemongrass and mint adding a refreshing aroma. The balance of sourness and saltiness is excellent. (Rating: 4 stars) Kai Luuk Kuey Translated as "son-in-law eggs," this dish features 20 deep-fried eggs. Tamarind's acidity and sweetness, along with crispy fried onions, make it a delightful dish. The runny egg adds a nice touch. (Rating: 4.3 stars) Larb Moo With plenty of fresh herbs like mint, coriander, and lemongrass, this dish has a robust flavor. The slightly strong acidity in the seasoning is to my liking. (Rating: 4 stars) Gai Yang Juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, this delicious grilled chicken is well-marinated. The Nam Jim sauce is rich in flavor, with a generous amount of herbs and a sweet Thai-style taste. A highlight of the day! (Rating: 5 stars) Kao Yam This southern-style mixed rice uses white jasmine rice instead of the typical green rice. The Nam Budu sauce, a key element, is delicious without any overpowering flavors. Mixing the various vegetables and herbs is the way to enjoy this dish. (Rating: 4 stars) Southern Pork Rib Curry Slow-cooked pork ribs in a spicy curry with a yellow original paste. Although I initially thought it was Gaeng Tai Pla Curry, it turned out to be different. (Rating: 4 stars) Moo Hong A Phuket specialty, this sweet and spicy braised pork belly is tender and flavorful. The eggs are also well-infused with the taste, making it a delightful dish. (Rating: 4 stars) Homemade Thai Tea Ice Cream and Patongko This combination is delightful. The ice cream has a complex flavor with hints of bitterness, sweetness, and richness, while the Patongko is slightly firm. (Rating: 4.2 stars) Roti Gluai Roti filled with creamy banana and condensed milk is a must-try dessert. (Rating: 4 stars) Each dish is generously filled with fresh herbs, which I appreciate. The desserts are delicious, making it a perfect spot for a date. The craft beer adds to the great ambiance. (Even though it's Thai!) P.S. It seems the owner is a big fan of Phuket! I had lunch on a day off. The restaurant was clean and had a modern feel, with many young people. It's great that they serve craft beer. I didn't have much alcohol this time as it was lunch, but I would like to visit again for dinner next time!

I visited this place looking for craft beer. They had about 6 domestic taps. The interior was clean and nice, but the service wasn't great (probably just a part-timer?). I'm not sure if I'll come back. The curry I had in the evening was delicious. The prices are reasonable, so it's good for grabbing a quick drink if they have the beer you're looking for.

I visited for lunch for the first time. - Service: The staff was unfriendly and not welcoming. They were quiet, but then started talking loudly among themselves right behind us. It was uncomfortable. - Food: Not bad, but nothing special either. - Value: This is the biggest issue. The portion size is quite small. No matter what you order, it's small. It felt like less than a nursery school child's lunch. Despite this, the lunch menu is over 1000 yen per dish. Craft beer is 1000 yen for a 320ml glass. I left feeling unsatisfied. Thank you for the meal. With the increasing number of Asian restaurants in the area, I thought they were being too confident. There are other places nearby that offer double the portion size for a better price and taste, so I will be going there instead. Just for your reference. ★
