Along the road leading from Tokyu Department Store to Tomigaya, there are casual and unique dining establishments lined up. After visiting a friend's photo exhibition at SStand, I tried to go to a nearby recommended restaurant, but it was fully booked. I checked out a few other places that caught my eye, but they were all packed. With a growling stomach, I pondered on where to have dinner... and decided to try "Seikoen," which my partner had visited about 20 years ago during their work with NHK. Without hesitation, we ordered the "Tokutoku Kalbi Minoo" and "Horumon Kakuteki Roast." Even in the hot summer, the sight of charcoal grilling sparked my appetite. I tried the "Tan Mimi" for the first time. It had a chewy texture, and I imagined it to be a part of the outer section of the tongue. It provided a satisfying bite and was a perfect way to end the meat feast. The cold noodles had a firm and bouncy texture, and the flavorful cold soup gave me a boost of energy. While I enjoy Korean cuisine in Shin-Okubo, the old-fashioned Japanese-style yakiniku at Seikoen has a revitalizing effect. With a glass of draft beer, a bottle of Makgeolli, and a half bottle of JINRO, our carnivorous banquet came to an end. In Shibuya, a well-known yakiniku restaurant is Kiyokaen! They offer a traditional yakiniku style with thick cuts of meat that are very satisfying. Located in the backstreets of Shibuya, it's a hidden gem that is loved by a wide range of people.

A well-established yakiniku restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy. It has an old-fashioned yakiniku restaurant vibe. Many signed autographs were displayed. The tongue salt was delicious, and so were the tripe, skirt steak, and thick cuts of meat. Everything we ate was delicious.

I visited this restaurant for the first time for lunch today. I was really hungry, so I ordered the Wagyu beef shoulder roast bowl with double meat for 1400 yen. When I saw the picture, I thought it might be a bit expensive because there were only two pieces of meat. I was worried if the amount of meat would be enough. However, when it arrived, I was surprised by the size of the meat! Even though they were rolled up a bit, the two pieces of meat completely dominated the bowl! (laughs) The size of the meat was more than enough, so my concern about having enough rice quickly disappeared. The meat was not only big but also tender and delicious, with flavorful fat oozing out. It was really delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Today's dinner is at "Seiko-en" in Shibuya. It is a restaurant that even Zico, the former coach of the Japanese national team, frequents. I have never been there for dinner, but I really like their lunch menu and visit often. I recommend the "Kalbi Kuppa". It has just the right amount of spiciness that keeps you coming back for more! The kalbi is in block form but it is cooked well and tender, so it easily falls apart. They also offer other lunch menu items like "Stone Pot Bibimbap". Definitely worth a try!

Everything I ate was delicious. The seared yukhoe was particularly amazing, with the tongue salt being luxuriously thick yet tender and easy to bite into. The liver had a rich flavor without any unpleasant smell. The other meats were also delicious without any misses. The cold noodles had a well-seasoned taste with a strong dashi flavor that I enjoyed. The prices overall were a bit high, but considering it's in Shibuya and they serve that quality of meat, it's understandable. The owner apparently also performs magic tricks, but unfortunately, I didn't get to see it this time.

It seems like they also have menus for one person, so even if you're alone without friends, you can still enjoy yourself (lol). They have a good selection of meat, so you can pretend to be the "Solitary Gourmet" at this restaurant.

Visited for the first time at the request of my husband. A little hard to find but we found it quickly. The exterior is different from the inside, which is a clean and tidy shop. We started with a basic three kinds of meat platter and hormone. The three kinds of meat platter included loin, kalbi, and harami-like cuts. They were delicious - tender and without any strong smell. The sauce was a bit sweet, so I wanted to adjust it myself, but there were no condiments provided. The hormone was tasty but had less oil. We also tried chuck flap tail, liver, prime kalbi, lamp, and mino. Oh, the kimchi and lettuce salad were really delicious. It takes quite some time for the dishes to be served, so it's better to order early. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant with my baby in tow on a weekend evening right after it opened. We were the first ones there, so I quickly ordered before any smokers arrived. I recommend trying the special selection of misuji and assorted hormone dishes. The meat was delicious, but the prices were fair for the quality. Overall, the lack of salt and pepper made the flavors a bit bland. It seems like the focus is on enjoying the natural flavors of the ingredients in this yakiniku. For dessert, we had chanja kukpa and yukkejang noodles. The chanja had just the right amount of salt and was very tasty. The yukkejang noodles had thick round noodles with a soup that was a bit unbalanced. It would be nice if they provided salt and pepper on the table.

I had some business in Oku-Shibuya and decided to have lunch. I chose to go to Seikaen, where I haven't been in a while, specifically to have their cold noodles. This place is a branch of the now-closed but beloved Ginza Seikaen. Seikaen is famous for its cold noodles and has been recommended in the magazine "POPEYED". As I entered the building from Kamiyamacho Street, I noticed that it wasn't too crowded, with only three groups of customers already seated. There was a group at a roaster table grilling meat, but I was there for the cold noodles. I ordered the cold noodle set (cold noodles + small bibimbap) for 1,080 yen. The set includes a salad with lettuce and a Korean-style dressing with sesame oil. After about 10 minutes, the cold noodles and bibimbap were served. The cold noodles came with kimchi, thinly sliced cucumber, and half-cooked egg. The clear soup with grated sesame and Welsh onion was delicious on its own. The noodles were made with a special dried noodle that had a good texture and chewiness. The homemade kimchi added a perfect amount of spice, and the thinly sliced cucumber complemented the dish well. The slightly half-cooked egg was a rare find and a nice touch. The cold noodles were exceptional and one of the best I've had, comparable to the ones I've tried in Morioka. Overall, it was a fantastic meal.

I visited this restaurant looking for a place to finish off my meal after feeling a bit unsatisfied at the first place. I had been curious about this shop for a while, but it always seemed to be closed. Finally, I was able to visit and found the interior filled with autographs of famous people, indicating it is a well-known establishment. As this was my second stop, I only ordered the cold noodles I had been craving. The noodles were quite thick and made from buckwheat flour, and the soup was very light in flavor. It seemed like a refreshing dish to have after a rich barbecue meal. It wasn't exactly to my personal taste, but some people may find it delicious. Since I didn't have the barbecue here, I will make sure to come back next time to try their meat dishes.
