Located in the shopping street of Musashi-Koyama, Fish Kaisan is a rare authentic fish store in the city center. The store offers a wide variety of items from bento boxes to side dishes, whole fish, and processed products. Prices are reasonable with Yellowtail sashimi for 500 yen, Medium fatty tuna sashimi for 1000 yen, and Deep-fried young sweetfish for 500 yen. Looking forward to enjoying the food!

[Fish lovers' paradise at the Petit Department Store of Delight] Located in the middle of Parm Shopping Street, this place offers a variety of fresh fish cuts, large sashimi, sushi, bento boxes, and side dishes. It is a treasure trove for those who enjoy seafood. I personally purchased sushi rolls, eel, and a complimentary sashimi platter, all of which were excellent value for money. With its recent opening and promotional flyers distributed in the neighborhood, it seems like this place is set to attract a diverse clientele. While the gift-giving season is still ongoing, the store's offerings and customer base are likely to evolve. Given the presence of similar establishments in the shopping street, I hope this new addition will provide some healthy competition and further enhance the overall dining experience.

On July 23, 2023, I visited a restaurant where fresh fish were lined up inside. There were bento boxes displayed on the cart outside, all looking delicious, so I couldn't help but buy one. I got a grilled eel bento box for 850 yen (excluding tax) to take out! I paid at the counter inside the store. It seemed to be a self-checkout system, but the staff assisted me, which was faster due to the large number of customers in the store. Payment could be made in cash, credit card, electronic money, or QUICPay, which was convenient. Underneath the price sticker, it was written to open the lid and microwave it at 500W for 1 minute and 30 seconds, so I followed the instructions. The grilled eel was delicious, despite being from China, it was moist and tender. The fried shrimp, meatballs, simmered hijiki, and the fried with shiso leaf and cheese in between were all delicious too. I was surprised by the high quality of the bento box! I can expect the same from other bento boxes, and the sushi looked delicious too. This is a definite repeat visit restaurant!

I had nigiri sushi and mackerel nanban-zuke on top. There were several types of nigiri sushi, including one with fresh raw baby sardines. The ingredients may change depending on the season. The mackerel nanban-zuke had just the right amount of acidity and was very delicious.

Today, on June 23rd, a new store called "Uogashi Nakayo Shoten" by Tsukiji Nakajima Suisan opened in the Musashi-Koyama Palm Shopping Street. Tsukiji Nakajima Suisan is a large company that operates 66 retail stores nationwide and has about 4 restaurants as well. This Palm store may have a narrow entrance, but it is very deep inside, offering a wide variety of seafood products like fresh fish, sushi, fried foods, and bento boxes. To celebrate the grand opening today, there was a tuna cutting show starting at 3 pm, which attracted a lot of customers and caused a big crowd. The 70.6 kg farmed tuna from Kochi Prefecture was quite impressive up close. The cut tuna was displayed for sale at the event, with prices like 1000 yen for lean meat, 1500 yen for medium fatty tuna, and 2000 yen for fatty tuna, all excluding tax. While many customers rushed to get their lottery tickets and compete to buy the tuna, the space was limited, so I decided to pass. Instead, I found a great deal on a red seabream from Shimoda for 1280 yen excluding tax, which I purchased. They removed the scales and organs, and filleted it with the tail attached. When I asked if I could eat it raw, they advised against it due to the presence of Anisakis parasites. Anisakis can be killed by freezing for 48 hours, so it's best to freeze it for 2 days before eating it raw. I decided to play it safe and enjoy the red seabream simmered and grilled with salt. The red snow crab from Tottori and the red snapper also looked delicious. I was also tempted by the Korean abalone at 980 yen for 2 pieces. This place is a paradise for seafood lovers. With the backing of a large corporation, they seem to have strong purchasing power and will likely become a popular fish market.
