There is an Italian restaurant in Shinjuku that is neither too expensive nor too cheap. It is located deep in Kabukicho, almost in East Shinjuku. If you turn from Meiji Street at the corner of Nisshin Foods towards Kabukicho, you will find it. It is a bit of a walk from Shinjuku Station. Even on a Saturday, if it's past 8 o'clock, it should be fine without a reservation, right? But when I went without a reservation, it was crowded! The restaurant has both table seating and a counter, and although it's not that small inside, it may be due to the cozy atmosphere or the location, but depending on the number of people, it seems like it's better to make a reservation. However, the staff kindly said, "We have a reservation at 9 o'clock, so until then..." and we were able to enter. That kind of consideration is really nice. Eventually, the table next to us left, so they said, "You can stay as long as you like." The menu includes daily specials listed on a blackboard, and the regular menu is on the table. I love the Bismarck pizza, and the thin, crispy crust is baked in a stone oven, which makes me excited until it arrives at the table. The egg is also delicious, with a fluffy and flavorful taste that spreads in your mouth. We went with four people and shared pizza, pasta, and appetizers, which filled us up nicely. Especially the buffalo mozzarella cheese is delicious! It has no unpleasant smell and is so easy to snack on. There is a wide selection of wines and various types of sangria available, with no pretentious explanations, making it easy to order casually. The staff are all men dressed casually, so it's an easy-going place to visit without feeling intimidated. They seemed to appeal to a certain type of person. The only downside is that it's crowded...

Tokyo Gourmet Exploration! Shinjuku Ward, Higashi-Shinjuku Edition Tokyo Napoli Pizza, popular restaurant "Pizzeria Lumen" long-awaited revisit! On a sunny winter day, with warm weather, the weather is nice, so I was invited by the 23-ku-kai member, the mini skirt police Miho, to head to my favorite pizza restaurant in Higashi-Shinjuku for dinner. Meiji Street, from Shinjuku 6-chome intersection, turn right at the side road and immediately on the right side, such a place, such a cute store appears. They use natural yeast to ferment and mature the pride of their pizza dough. With only 19 seats and limited to 19 pizzas per day, reservations for pizza are a must. Tokyo Napoli Pizza, popular restaurant "Pizzeria Lumen" long-awaited revisit! This time, it's a limited offer for Miho, with all-you-can-drink for ¥8000. First, the sea bream and salmon roe and tomato carpaccio salad. Fresh vegetables, sea bream, and salmon roe with a good flavor and excellent umami. Elegant Parma ham, salami, and several types of assorted. Parma ham and salami have a refined taste and excellent umami. Marinated octopus, with a chewy texture and good sweetness and umami. Grilled herb shrimp, with a chewy texture and good aroma and excellent umami. White asparagus bacon roll, with a perfect balance of texture and bacon saltiness. And then, the pizza arrives, starting with Margherita. Crispy and perfectly baked with plenty of mozzarella, tomato sauce, and basil for an excellent and exquisite taste. The pizza dough is chewy and soft, with a good taste and very delicious. Second, the oyster, broccoli, and bacon pizza. The oyster's sea flavor and bacon's saltiness combine with the sweetness of the vegetables for an excellent taste. Fiorentina, with beaten eggs, spinach, and mortadella. The pizza is rounded and rich with a superb and delicious taste. Quattro Formaggi, with plenty of four cheeses and drizzled with honey, for a rich and indulgent cheese experience. For dessert, early spring firefly squid and rapeseed flower pasta. The firefly squid is chewy with a good flavor, the rapeseed flower has a good texture, and the noodles are excellent. All of them have a good flavor and are extremely delicious! A feast of pizza! Delightful and indulgent dishes that are addictive! A regular visit restaurant! Delicious and exquisite.

The pizza from this top 100 pizzeria had a sweet and fluffy crust, making it the best dough I've ever had. I ordered the Margherita, and the sauce and cheese were also top-notch. I also tried the Aglio e Olio with shirasu and arugula, which was delicious. The noodles were thin and slightly firm, with a hint of garlic and a subtle flavor of karasumi. I didn't really need to order this one, though. I also enjoyed the terrine and boné pudding. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I had always been curious about this restaurant! The interior wasn't very spacious, but the atmosphere and the staff were great. Everything was delicious, but the Margherita pizza was especially juicy and amazing. I was able to upgrade to buffalo mozzarella cheese for an extra charge, which was worth it. If I ever crave delicious pizza again, I definitely want to come back here! Thank you for the meal ^ ^

The location is Kabukicho, with the nearest stations being Higashi-Shinjuku and Shinjuku Sanchome. The restaurant has a pizza oven, making it quite hot inside. It's small, so reservations are a must. Last time, I tried to make a reservation but it was fully booked. On this day, it seems they didn't have any clams, so the menu was slightly limited. Cover charge 300 yen x2 600 yen, draft beer 700 yen, Bellini 800 yen, oolong tea 400 yen, Ehime fresh sea bream carpaccio 1200 yen, Margherita with basil and mozzarella 1900 yen, Buon Appetito 500 yen. You can add "Bocconcini" to any pizza for an additional 500 yen. Bocconcini is a mouth-watering buffalo milk mozzarella imported weekly from Naples. Jersey cow and fava bean ragu sauce with handmade tagliatelle 1500 yen. Total 7600 yen, tax 750 yen, 8350 yen. The staff efficiently manages the dining area alone, providing just the right amount of service. All dishes were delicious and satisfying. Changing the cheese to Bocconcini for Buon Appetito was a good choice, and the portion size was just right. If I can secure a seat, I would like to visit again, but I would prefer to go when it's a bit cooler. There is no parking available.

In the morning, I had a delicious breakfast at Shoma, which put me in a foodie mood, so I went to Lumen for dinner. It's a top-level restaurant nearby that I crave regularly for their incredibly delicious Margherita pizza and Caprese salad, which I have never tasted anything better than. I forgot to take a photo of the Caprese this time. There are many restaurants I want to try, but while living in Shinjuku, Lumen is my go-to Italian spot, and I plan to visit again by the end of the year.

Half & half is packed with dreams. I arrived smoothly at 12 o'clock on a Saturday with no line, but there were a few groups waiting. I ordered a Heineken and one half & half. I always struggle with my choice, but this time I went with the reliable Bismarck. The food was quickly cooked and the taste was perfect.

This is a restaurant located in the back streets of Kabukicho. If you are familiar with Shinjuku, you will easily find it, near Terma Yu and behind Hanazono Shrine. It's a bit of a walk from Shinjuku Station. The atmosphere inside is bright and lively. It's always crowded whenever I go, and I finally got a chance to visit. Even on this day, it was packed, but the staff in the hall were efficient! All the dishes were delicious, but the highlight was definitely the pizza baked in the pizza oven. I recommend adding the buffalo mozzarella cheese flown in from Italy daily. The dough is simply delicious, with the perfect balance of saltiness and chewiness. The crust is also perfectly crispy. I definitely want to eat it again. Thank you for the meal.

Point 1️⃣: The dough is amazing! It's chewy, soft, and the flavor expands the more you chew, leading you into a dream-like world. Point 2️⃣: The buffalo mozzarella is rich and creamy, yet refreshing. Ordered items (excluding drinks): - Red snapper carpaccio in a salad style - White asparagus wrapped in pancetta, stone oven-baked - Margherita pizza (with buffalo mozzarella) - Chichinier Impressions: 1️⃣: The dough is overwhelmingly good, and any pizza lover would be impressed. It's the best pizza I've ever had, with a chewy, soft texture that enhances the flavor as you chew. 2️⃣: The Margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella is surprisingly perfect. The sweet tomato sauce paired with the rich yet refreshing mozzarella creates a blissful experience. 3️⃣: This is a wonderful place where you can truly appreciate your love for pizza. 4️⃣: The restaurant is small and has cute decorations. However, the counter seats in the summer can be hot and a bit cramped. Reservations are a must! I visited around 7:30 pm on a weekday, and the place was fully booked.

I felt like having pizza this time, so I went for dinner. When I sat down, I was given the grand menu and recommended menu to order from. I ordered the meat terrine and white asparagus appetizers, and for the main dish, I ordered the Fiorentina pizza with buffalo mozzarella. The meat terrine had no unpleasant smell and was delicious! The white asparagus wrapped in bacon was sweet and also amazing. I was looking forward to the pizza, and the crust was just amazing! It was really delicious, even when it cooled down! I finished it like a drink! Haha, I will definitely visit again when I crave pizza! The pasta and dessert were also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant for dinner on a regular night. The place was bustling, with only our table being available. We ordered a la carte and decided to order a lot at once. The food came out quickly, and everything was piping hot. The clam white wine steamed dish had amazing broth, making me crave for white rice. The pizza, especially the recommended white truffle and cheese, was delightful. The pizza dough was light and crispy, with a hint of sweetness from the yeast. The sakura shrimp arrabiata pasta had the perfect firmness and delicious flavor. The restaurant is open until 2 am, making it a great place for a late-night meal after drinks. I left feeling satisfied and would love to try different dishes next time. Thank you for the meal!

First visit. Visited on Monday at 20:30 with a reservation. I tried making a reservation around 17:30 on the same day, and luckily managed to secure a reservation for 20:30! The number of pizzas served in a day is limited, so each group is restricted to 1 or 2 pizzas. This time, it was just 2 of us sharing 1 pizza. Therefore, without a reservation, it's hard to get a table at this restaurant. Being a popular place, I've always wanted to try their pizza, and finally, my wish came true this time. The ambiance of the restaurant is very Italian! The exterior looks welcoming, but it's not easy to get a table... It's a smoking-friendly place, so it might be tough for non-smokers. We were seated upwind, so it didn't bother us much. With only 2 staff members serving, they seemed very busy, but the service was quick, allowing us to enjoy our meal comfortably. What we had: - Margherita Pizza 2090 yen - Rocket and Cod Roe Pasta 1485 yen - Ehime Live-Caught Sea Bream Carpaccio Salad 1200 yen - Italian Pickled Small Peaches 600 yen The Margherita Pizza was the only one we ordered, sticking to the classic choice. The unique dough made with natural yeast was delicious, but it didn't stand out compared to other places. Despite the relatively high price of 2090 yen, the size was average, and it lacked distinctive elements. The cost performance was not great. Perhaps it's due to the location cost? At other places, for the same price, you could get an upgraded Margherita. The non-pizza items on the menu were tasty, but they were just average compared to what I had imagined. There wasn't a significant impact or emotional response. Also, I felt the pricing for the quality was slightly high. I couldn't figure out what makes this place so popular and better than others based on this visit alone. [Foodie Route of the Day] Noguchi Fresh Fish Store (Seafood Bowl/ Honjo Azumabashi) → Shigeno Coffee Factory (Cafe/ Oshiage) → Momino-Yu Ueno Store (Cafe/ Ueno) → Ammonite Coffee Market Hongo (Cafe/ Hongo Sanchome) → Pizzeria Lumen (Pizza/ Shinjuku)

At Pizzeria Lumen, I ordered the following dishes: - Fresh octopus ceviche marinated in herbs and lemon - Garlic white wine steamed clams - Duck leg confit pizza (Napoletana style) - Simple green salad - Carbonara with thick-cut bacon and various mushrooms - Desserts: Tiramisu and Bonet (chocolate-flavored cocoa pudding) I also had a glass of champagne and a glass of white wine. It was a delicious and fantastic dinner after a long time. This place requires a reservation.

I ordered the Diavolo pizza (spicy salami, gorgonzola, chili) and it was quite powerful with the ingredients. It went really well with wine. The dough was quite unique. The dough is made by minimizing the formation of gluten, letting it rest in the refrigerator for 2 days, resulting in a light texture that doesn't interfere with the meal, but still leaves you satisfied. It's quite rare to find such dough. The restaurant is also conveniently close to Kabukicho, so I want to go back soon. The other dishes also look delicious, so I would like to visit the restaurant even without ordering pizza.

We went to this restaurant with two friends because it seemed famous on Tabelog. The restaurant is located across from Subway in Kabukicho. Since there was no online reservation system, we went without a reservation around 7 PM on the day. Luckily, there were two seats available at the counter, so we were seated right away, but the rest of the restaurant was full. The restaurant is not very spacious, but it has a chic and calm atmosphere that makes you forget you are in Kabukicho. We looked at the regular menu, but we ended up ordering from the seasonal menu displayed on a blackboard inside, including appetizers, pasta, and pizza. We also ordered beer and red wine. There were only two staff members, the chef and a server, working, but despite being busy and full, the service was very attentive and the dishes were all delicious with attention to detail. The popular pizza was a hit, and every dish we ordered was outstanding. Even though we ordered appetizers, pizza, and pasta all at once, they considered the progression of our meal and served each dish accordingly. They even divided the pasta into two plates for us. The wine we ordered by the bottle was poured not only by the server but also by the chef, showing their attentive service. Despite being only two staff members, they provided excellent service and we had a great time. We definitely want to visit again.

Shinjuku's best pizza! I visited LUMEN in Higashi Shinjuku! The restaurant is not very spacious and it's a popular place, so it's better to make a reservation. Even though it was raining, it was fully booked. I had been looking forward to trying the pizza here as I had heard it was delicious! And as expected, it was really tasty, so I have become a repeat customer in Shinjuku. Today's recommended menu item was the salmon carpaccio salad. I chose the Margherita and Cichinier pizza. The crust was thin but the inside was chewy, which was quite unique. The outer part was crispy and slightly sweet, which I loved! The Margherita pizza was topped with buffalo mozzarella which melted beautifully, and the combination of tomato sauce and cheese was excellent. I recommend adding the buffalo mozzarella. The Cichinier pizza, on the other hand, had no tomato sauce. It was a simple pizza with shirasu, oregano, and garlic, and it was really to my liking. The sweetness of the crust and the saltiness of the toppings were irresistible! The red shrimp and spring cabbage spaghetti was surprisingly delicious too. Since the order for pizza is limited to 2 per group, it might be best to go with a partner. Located 7 minutes on foot from Higashi Shinjuku Station. Margherita 2,090 yen, Salmon carpaccio salad 1,200 yen, Cichinier 2,200 yen, Red shrimp and spring cabbage spaghetti in tomato sauce 1,400 yen. #Higashi Shinjuku gourmet #Pizza lovers unite #Shinjuku gourmet #Tabelog Top 100 restaurants #Food lovers #Higashi Shinjuku dinner #Kabukicho gourmet #instafood #foodstagram #pizzalover #italian #Tokyo gourmet #Shinjuku

I visited around 2:00 pm on Sunday and had to wait about 15 minutes to get in. The wood-fired pizza was fragrant and chewy! I was happy that I could order a Piccolo (small) size or half & half to try various options. Both the tomato base and cheese base were delicious.

Pizzeria LUMEN / Tokyo Higashi Shinjuku Tabelog 3.59 Tabelog Top 100 Restaurants ✔︎ Chichinieri 2,200 yen ✔︎ Bismarck 2,640 yen ✔︎ Today's assorted appetizers 1,980 yen Tabelog Top 100 Restaurants tour. This time, I visited a pizza place that is a regular on the Top 100 list. This restaurant has a rule that only 19 pizzas are available per day, so each group can order up to 2 pizzas. The menu offers a variety of pizzas and the pasta looked delicious too, but this time I ordered 2 pizzas! The Chichinieri had simmered shirasu, shishito peppers, garlic oregano, and cherry tomatoes, simple yet delicious with the sweetness of the wheat in the pizza dough. The Bismarck had a soft-boiled egg, mortadella ham, mushrooms, and onions, with added porchetta. The cheese was very fresh and juicy, and the onions were sweet, combining perfectly with the egg yolk. The small, charming restaurant was lovely. Thank you for the meal!

The pizza was surprisingly delicious with a soft and sweet crust that wasn't overpowering. It made me realize how tasty pizza can be. The menu using seasonal ingredients is great, and the white asparagus was delicious. I think they accept PayPay, but probably no Wi-Fi. The cellphone signal is weak, maybe because it's not underground but still not great.
