We visited the restaurant around 7:30 PM with 3 people. There were only a few seats available at the counter, so we had to wait for about 10 minutes before sitting side by side at the counter. For groups of 3 or more, there is only one table near the restroom, while there are about 3 small tables for 2 people each and the counter seating for about 7 people. The rare beef cutlet options - sirloin, loin, and fillet - were all delicious, and the rice was cooked perfectly.

I arrived at the restaurant a little after 11 o'clock on Tuesday and was the first customer. There were four staff members and the atmosphere was nice. I ordered the beef sirloin cutlet and eel cutlet set with a draft beer. I was impressed that there was no price increase. I also had miso soup and extra rice. It was delicious. I saved 100 yen with a LINE coupon.

Today's lunch was a luxurious beef cutlet. I ordered the loin beef cutlet with grated ponzu sauce for 1680 yen (excluding tax), so it goes over 1800 yen with tax included. I honestly wished they would display the tax-included price prominently at the time of payment. However, the meat was delicious. There were various sauces like grated ponzu, curry sauce, wasabi soy sauce, regular sauce, and sansho salt for flavor variations. The coating was crispy, and the meat was rare. A hot plate is provided, so if you like your meat well-done, you can cook it further. If you become LINE friends, you can get free refills of rice, cabbage, and miso soup!

Kachigai, a popular beef cutlet spot, has many branches so I often visit the one where I can get in without waiting. The meat was very tender and delicious. I personally love eating it with wasabi. However, I don't think I'll be going to the Musashi-Koyama branch anymore because the chatty part-time staff were quite noisy and distracting.

I ate too much. I think the extra rice helped. I chose the seasonal limited cold yellowtail cutlet because it's cold yellowtail. The miso soup was red miso, with a strong flavor. There was a large serving of cabbage, and the free refills were amazing (even though I couldn't eat enough to get a refill). I started with the added tongue, which had a firm texture and a tongue-like flavor. The sirloin was very tender. The yellowtail cutlet was also very good, and I was full.

I realized that I had visited another store a long time ago when I looked it up, it was already over 4 years ago. At that time, I went for lunch because there was training nearby, so I had the lunch menu, but this time it was close to 5 pm so I had the regular menu. I found out that if you become friends on LINE, you can have unlimited rice, miso soup, and cabbage. ⚫︎Draft beer 528 yen. It was a black label and it was delicious. ⚫︎Beef sirloin cutlet and jumbo shrimp cutlet set meal 1859 yen. It was a bit pricey, but I was drawn to the limited time offer. I ordered a beer and waited for the food to arrive. It came in less than 10 minutes. The meat was thin! It was only about half the size of the picture on the menu? (-。-; The taste was delicious. There was a solid fuel-heated plate provided so you could cook the meat yourself. I like my meat medium-rare, so I cooked it quite a bit, but it remained tender, showing that they use good quality meat. It was tasty. However, it was thin. The sauces provided were dashi soy sauce, yuzu pepper salt, beef cutlet sauce, and Kyoto curry dipping sauce. I tried it with dashi soy sauce and beef cutlet sauce. I didn't try the curry sauce with the meat because I thought it might overpower the flavor, so I only dipped the cabbage in it, which was also good. The shrimp was thick and juicy, with a crispy coating. The original Kyoto pickled vegetable tartar sauce wasn't too strong, and it complemented the shrimp cutlet well. Overall, the prices were a bit high, but the food was delicious. There were quite a few customers ordering takeout, so I might try the takeout menu next time.

I tried it with the recommended half-cooked egg sauce and it was delicious, but I enjoyed it more with the sansho salt since it's eel. The sirloin cutlet was average. The mini-menchi katsu was hot and tasty, probably because it was free. I had extra rice and red miso soup. Since the restaurant had been open for 3 months, the staff were experienced and provided good service. Thank you for the meal.

At first glance, it may seem like a small portion, but the amount is actually sufficient. The meat is served rare and you can grill it yourself on a small iron plate with solid fuel, similar to what you would find in a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn). The meat is very delicious and tender. I liked it so much that I even got a bento box for my child to take home. The taste and the staff at the restaurant were great. The only downside is that the prices could be a little lower.

Lunchtime in Musashi-Koyama was crowded everywhere with people waiting, so I decided to try this place where I could be seated right away. However, I was made to wait at the entrance, and then the customers who arrived after me were seated at the counter without any explanation. We were a party of two, so I don't know why that happened, but it was a bit of a letdown, haha. We were eventually led to the second-floor seating area after a short wait. We looked at the menu, and since it was my first time trying beef cutlet, I opted for the loin to play it safe. My daughter went for the challenging choice of roast tongue. When the food arrived after a decent wait, I found that, like tonkatsu in general, the rare frying method didn't make much sense to me. It didn't bring out any special flavor, and the texture wasn't particularly enjoyable. For the price of around 2000 yen, I think choosing pork cutlet would have been a better option. The condiments included soy sauce, sansho pepper salt, sauce, and curry sauce, creating a variety of flavors to enjoy, but the curry sauce was a no-go, and the sansho pepper salt didn't have much of a sansho flavor. Overall, including the cabbage, unfortunately, there was nothing that I found delicious.

Just before 3:00 PM, I went to Musashi-Koyama for lunch after a long time. The tempura restaurant I wanted to go to had a line of 3 groups waiting, so I decided to go to this beef cutlet restaurant instead. It has been about 8 years since I last ate beef cutlets at "Gyukatsu Okada" in Shinbashi. This beef cutlet restaurant from Kyoto caught my interest. There were about 5-6 groups of customers inside. I sat at the counter and ordered the following: - Beef sirloin and loin cutlet with Kyoto-style egg set for 1,590 yen - Additional cutlet of fillet for 960 yen (both prices excluding tax) I imagined the beef cutlets to be quite voluminous based on the menu photos, but when the beef sirloin and loin cutlet with Kyoto-style egg set was served, the actual size of the cutlets was smaller and thinner than I expected, almost the size of a sweet potato tempura... a little disappointing compared to my expectations. However, the fillet cutlet that was brought later was thick. Without the additional cutlet, it felt a bit unsatisfying for someone with a big appetite. The rice, miso soup, and cabbage were refillable for those who add the restaurant on LINE as a friend... I did it right away. The beef cutlets were fried rare, so they lacked a bit of chewiness, but you can enjoy them in various ways with different sauces, condiments, and salt. The onsen tamago (soft-boiled egg) and Japanese-style curry dipping sauce were quite delicious when poured over the extra rice I got. The rice, miso soup, and cabbage were all tasty, and I had seconds of each. Thank you for the meal. * The restaurant is wheelchair and baby stroller friendly, but it's always a good idea to check with the restaurant before visiting. Takeout is also available.

The cutlet is finely chopped so even children can easily eat it. When I asked for a rice refill, they told me to register on LINE. I hurried to register and finally got my rice refill. I visited the Kyoto Katsugyu Musashi Koyama store, which opened on March 31st. I quickly registered on LINE and had unlimited free refills of rice and cabbage. The cabbage refill is a must!
