(Revisited on April 1, 2021) Whenever I passed by Parum Shopping Street, I was always curious about the Takoyaki Soba. I had decided since morning that I would go eat this for lunch. I actually prefer the Ran-giri Soba at the Nishikoyama branch, but since I had only seen the Takoyaki Soba sign at the Musashikoyama branch, I ended up coming here. It was 11:30, and luckily there were no other customers at the time. Oh, the ticket machine has changed, now accepting payment with transportation IC cards. This has become convenient. However, I'm not used to it, so I had a hard time finding the button for extra large portions and the button for the Takoyaki, which seemed to be on sale, was in a very difficult position to find. It's a good thing there were no customers behind me (sweat). I was able to purchase the extra large portion and the Takoyaki ticket using my Suica card without any issues, and handed the ticket to the staff at the counter and received a half-ticket, then waited a while for my order to be ready. During that time, I poured the soba broth into the bowl to let it cool down a bit for easier drinking. After about 4 minutes, my number was called and I went to pick up my order. It was an extra large portion, but it didn't feel that voluminous. It's a free extra large portion, so I can't really complain. The Takoyaki wasn't as big as shown on the poster. Perhaps that's why instead of the usual 3 pieces, there were 4 pieces included. There were also small amounts of seaweed and green onions as toppings. First, I tried the broth. Surprisingly, the color was dark but the taste was quite light. This is the first time I've experienced this. I always thought that soba shops in the Kanto region, even chain stores, had strong flavors, but this taste is the complete opposite. The umami flavor isn't very pronounced, but it's not bad. Next, I tried the Takoyaki. It's soft and goes through easily. The batter isn't as crispy as expected. If they wanted to emphasize the crispy texture, a separate serving might be better. The soba noodles were smooth and slid down the throat easily. The length of the noodles might be just right for easy eating. They were gone in no time. Lastly, I drank the soba broth, which surprisingly wasn't cold and by the time I finished it, my body was warm and I started sweating. I wasn't interested in trying the collaboration Takoyaki Soba with Gin-dako, but the Squid Tempura Soba was good too. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you.
