Located on the second floor of a building with Lome Spa Balboa in the basement along Ochanomizu Nakadori, is Bar Wilshire. The chic interior of the bar gives off an atmosphere reminiscent of a TV drama, making you want to sip a glass alongside a beautiful woman at the counter. There are six counter seats and two booth tables in the spacious interior. On a rainy evening around 9 pm, I climbed the stairs alone and took a seat at the counter, where I ordered a Guinness (900 yen). The Guinness, prepared with a perfect pint using an ultrasonic surger, had a fine creamy foam that was delicious. The back bar offers a wide range of Scotch, Irish, American, Canadian whiskies, and more. After some contemplation, I decided to try the Sidecar (1,200 yen), which had a brandy base with a vibrant orange aroma and lemon acidity. It was incredibly tasty. The base Cognac was Flapin V.S.O.P. The cocktail is called "Always Together," a perfect choice to recommend when with a lady. As I was the only customer, I had a chat with the bartender. The bar has been open since 2000, marking 22 years of operation. The bartender has been in this industry for nearly 40 years. Suddenly, a sophisticated gentleman entered the bar, accompanied by a beautiful woman. They perfectly fit the ambiance of the bar. Feeling a bit envious, I decided to leave early.

I had some free time and felt thirsty, so I wanted to drink beer and entered this place. I was grateful that there was no cover charge. I had a Guinness for the first time in a while. The conversation was enjoyable, and I had a good time. Thank you very much.

Tonight, I planned to have just one drink, but ended up having two. It was delicious as always! (^^)

I can only go occasionally, but the slightly older master always provides kind service, which makes me happy. The cocktails are delicious, the alcohol selection is abundant, and the other customers around are nice. It's a wonderful bar.

I took a photo, but it's blurry because I was a bit drunk. The cocktail didn't even show up properly in the picture, so I decided not to post it as it might lower the reputation of the bar. It's been a while since I came to a bar. Probably about a year. There are not many bars along my commute route, and I've been so busy with work that I forgot to take the time to enjoy cocktails at places like this. I started with a White Lady. I order this cocktail first to gauge how well I get along with it. It may sound pretentious, but it's just because it's the first cocktail I ever tried, so I have a special attachment to it. It was refreshing and easy to drink, so I finished it quickly. I ordered another one, chatted with my colleague, and left just before the last train. It's a great bar. I want to come back regularly.

Recently, I haven't been going out much, but I like to have a few places nearby work where I can relax with good drinks and have quiet conversations. When I used to work in Jinbocho, I explored many places, but I never made it to Ogawamachi. I had heard about Wilshire and wanted to check it out. Since my company moved to Ogawamachi, I finally had the chance to visit. It's located on the second floor of a building, and when you open the door, you're greeted with a very mature atmosphere. It's a classic, authentic bar. The first time I went in, I felt a bit out of place in my casual attire. The drink selection is impressive. Surprisingly, even if you don't drink alcohol, it's still a great place to visit. If you let them know, they can make you a wonderful non-alcoholic cocktail. I hesitate to share this on my blog because it's a place I don't want too many people to know about. It's a favorite spot of mine. Highly recommended.

Kanda Jinbocho surprisingly has few bars. While there may be some if you look hard enough, they are not easily noticeable. When looking to have a meal in this area and then go to a second or third bar, there is no standout bar to go to. A straightforward, authentic bar is missing. Therefore, it is common to take a taxi to a different location for the second bar each time. This bar is located on the second floor, and when you look up from the street, you can see the bottles lined up on the back bar through the glass. The sign at the entrance on the first floor also indicates that it is a serious bar. Inside the bar, there is a counter, and sitting here and gazing at the bottles on the back bar is a prime seat. The drinks range from whiskey to spirits, with a variety of single malt brands from classic to slightly rare. The bartender is also serious and likable. On this day, as my schedule was tight, I visited alone, had a few drinks, and left the bar. The prices were reasonable. When looking for a bar in this area again, I think I will come back here.

I remembered this place as a rare authentic bar in the area. I visited after a long time and it was good as usual. They have a good selection of malts, cocktails are well-made, and the bartender is very dedicated. It seems like similar bars have opened recently, but this one is still popular with customers. I look forward to visiting again on some occasion.
