Wabisabi
As soon as you enter the store, you are surrounded by American-style decor, craft beer lists written in English, and classic movies playing on the screen, creating a full-on American atmosphere. The staff are all foreigners and most of the customers are also foreigners, making you feel like you've stepped into a foreign country. If you prefer thin, elegant pizza, this place may not be for you as they serve thick crust American-style pizza. The prices are on the higher side compared to typical Japanese prices, but many people come here seeking the taste of home. They offer a combo deal for two people including a salad, side order, and pizza. Recommended items include Buffalo Chicken, Caesar Salad, Pepperoni Pizza, and Hawaiian Pizza. While many restaurants in Japan tend to put a Japanese spin on Western cuisine, this place offers the authentic taste of Western classics. It may be just a regular taste for those living in North America, but for some reason, I find myself coming back for more when I miss that flavor. They also have a menu in Japanese. After writing the comment above, I had a follow-up experience. When I visited with my friend for a meal before watching a movie at Toho Cinemas next to Roppongi Hills, we ordered the combo menu I mentioned earlier. The Buffalo Chicken, which we selected from the salad and side menu, arrived promptly, but the pizza never came. It turned out that our pizza had been mistakenly taken for a delivery order meant for another customer. By the time we realized this, the movie was about to start, so we had to give up on the pizza. I was fine with it as I was quite full from the Caesar Salad and Buffalo Chicken with craft beer, but for my friend who loves pizza and comes here seeking the taste of home every time, it was a big disappointment. The staff apologized and offered to make the pizza right away, but it was already too late for us to wait as the movie was starting soon. One of the staff members then offered us a slightly cold pizza that was meant for someone else, saying we could take it to the movie theater. We declined as we thought bringing pizza into the theater might not be allowed and settled the bill. The staff then said, "Sorry for ruining your movie night. You don't have to pay today. We feel bad for messing up, so don't worry about the bill. Use the money you saved to buy some popcorn and enjoy the movie." What a wonderful display of hospitality. It was disappointing not being able to eat the pizza, but their genuine desire to make their customers happy was truly moving. I will definitely visit again!
